    Who are the two morons who disliked the video? What's not to like? Clear, concise, informative. Do they expect a strip tease thrown in or something?

    Thanks for the video, very helpful.To anyone reading, this engine cover does not come off easy as in the video unless your fastners are already broken.My was a total pita to get off, & get back on too.2 of my rubber bits broke, the cover is now quite wobbly.A truly awful design imo.Also I found it helpful to remove the 2 torx screws that fix the air inlet pipe near the slam panel.

    Much appreciated! I hate VW for this however. How ridiculous for a filter change and something that should be checked often

    Hello, can you please share information regarding air filter specifications? Thank you

    It was easy to disconnect all the things you showed but I couldn't get the cover to disconnect from the rubber grommets no matter how hard I pulled and I pulled hard. Is there a screw or something I missed? I did remove the oil cap.

      I got it, but I had to pull on it like I wanted to break it! It is extremely tight with those rubber grommets. I made a video showing how impossible it is to install. I came up with a technique that worked but it was still difficult.

      just do a bit of grease on the grommets. ;-)

    There's 10 morons who disliked the video lol well anyway I bought a 2006 passat about 6 months ago and now I see why some "mechanics" complain about VW being somewhat difficult to work on lol not to mention expensive so with being said....... great video! Now I can do it my self again thanks that was much helpful!

    i was wondering if you had any idea why my 2006 GTI would be blowing consent hot air out of the driver air vents both floor as well as dash vents

    • @raymondo5893
      @raymondo5893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess would be because they run hot

    Air filter? What if you have a cold air intake and had to remove the engine cover?

    • @hyperpro9118
      @hyperpro9118 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      little late but just wash & reoil the filter, some filters are different depending on material used and you may need to replace the whole filter entirely, time wise usually around 40,000km/25,000miles. i wouldn't go any higher then your risking it.

    If I have to watch a video on how to change the air filter then that means either dont buy that vehicle or take it to a shop to have it done.

      if you're this much of idiot that you can't do 5 minutes of work then you probably shouldn't drive car anyways

    GREAT video!! But...just another example of the wacky german engineering techniques they use. If it can be designed to make it harder to service, then the german engineers will do it. YIKES!!

    • @MuracosaSven
      @MuracosaSven 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not a special german technique....
