  • A Class 60 Locomotive starts up and sits idle for a while outside Westbury Railway Station on 18th July 2013. An ideal video for a rail enthusiast who just wants to listen to the idle noise of a diesel locomotive in the background :) 60065 was being used as the "Super Shunter" at Westbury, it had been stabled overnight adjacent to Westbury station and after 8 minutes of idling departs off to Westbury West Yard. I had to edit out a small part where a Class 150 departs across the shot but left in Matt's cameo...
60065 entered traffic in September 1991 with the name "Kinder Low" which it carried until July 1999. It was originally allocated to the Petroleum Sector of Railfreight. In April 2003 it was renamed "Spirit of Jaguar" following it's repaint into EWS livery. In 2012 it was overhauled and classed as a "Super Sixty" but retained it's EWS livery instead of the DB Schenker livery.
This footage was previously uploaded to my other channel however I feel now is the time to move it to where a larger audience could appreciate it ;)
This was a snippet from a 4 day spotting holiday in the Westcountry which took in some traction action at Westbury and Eastleigh.
