    Heads up! Since using the jig for a week, I swapped out the 90lb mag switches for the 150lb mag switches. I used a 1 5/8" forstner bit to sink those 150s into the jig no problemo!

      Did it get squirrley, or were you just wanting the stronger magnets in case? I've yet to meet a woodworker who doesn't over engineer LOL. I'm wanting to build one of these here in a few weeks

      Just was going to ask you about this as I heard you mention it on your podcast. I just ordered the stock guides today. I'll order the 150s.

      Never got squirrely, it was just the peace of mind with over engineering 🤣

      @@KeyWoodworks that's what we do baby! 😂 I took your advice and did the larger magnets on mine. Turned out great. If my project can't hold 1,000 LBS then it's under engineered!

      Hi, just finished mine up today and works as advertised. Thanks for the great idea on using magnets to hold it down.

    Excellent video. Great explanation, clear and concise… I have a Harvey Fusion II table saw and you just convinced me to add the stock guides. Thanks!

    Nice video. I find myself enjoying The videos where you talk and explain your work more than your no talking ones.

    Brilliant! I've always wanted the JessEm Stock Guide, but didn't want to permanently mount it to the fence. This is the perfect work around. Thanks for the idea.

    I've been using the Jessem guides for the past year and a half now, and they are absolutely one of the best additions to my table saw. I also got them for my router table (completely different setup). The only problem I've had is that they can be a bit difficult to use with smaller/thinner stock, especially when making thin cuts. It's almost safer to not use them for thin cuts.

      I’ll be getting some for my router table too! They are awesome!

      If you dont mind: Whats the most narrow rip you can make with these safely?

    • @AlAmantea
      @AlAmantea ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Saileahgaz well, it depends on which side of the blade you make your cut. From between the fence and blade, I've done 1/2" using the jessem guides without issue, but it does get complicated at the end of the cut to push the piece all the way through. I normally do skinny rips to the outside of the blade so it won't bind, and in that situation I've done inlay material at 1/16" with proper setup and control.

    Hey man, how are you liking the new table saw? You've had it for about a year now. Any regrets only getting the 2HP? I'm super close to pulling the trigger on getting the same one. Is the tin coating worth it?

    I am looking to install my new Jessem Stock Guides as well I saw another video wherein the guy decided to just screw the jessem rail system right into his fence. I cannot remember if it is sawstop or harvey tablesaw. He mentioned that the jessem rail does not get in the way so he just takes off the two arm rods when he needs to. He said the rail does not get in way of other jigs. Anyone else have that experience? What other types of jigs would not work if the jessem rail without the rods is left attached to the fence? Has anyone seen the magswitches used like this without screwing them down? I was wondering if I were to setup this same type of jig and not screw down the magnets, if there would be any movement of the jig?

    Dang, I bought the 95lb magnets and just heard your comment on ShopSounds that you switched them out. Just ordered the 150’s and I’ll return those 95’s arriving today.

    • @KeyWoodworks
      @KeyWoodworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I need to make a pinned comment that says I swapped over to the 150s, You'll need a 1 5/8 forstner bit for the 150s fyi.
