Thanks Dennis! I love these China tools segments and I’m slowly building out my tool collection with you to thank for saving me money. And I’m using your rankings page for you to get referrals. Great job as always.
Hi,
I've just received my router lift and the template is now a perfect fit with the base plate.
The sneaky good thing about these China tools videos is how much I learn about basic shop setup, techniques and general woodworking. Like just building that mini router table and how that fence and dust collection work is super valuable for a beginner like me.
Love it!
Wow! Hard to believe this is #45 China tools. Haven't missed a single one. As usual, great video Denis
This video is featured directly on the router fence product page! I appreciate your reviews and convinced me to purchase
Thanks Dennis for another great review!
Love your videos. Your woodworking skills are superb, and you've built an amazing looking shop. Really appreciate the reviews also. They've really helped when shopping for new tools. Thanks for your work!
I've been having some difficulties with the height creeping up on me - thanks for showing how to adjust this, Dennis.
Love your tool reviews Dennis. I have purchased tools like the Wnew Miter guage and am very pleased with it. Can you please tell me where you purchase your black MDF material? Thanks.
I purchased this lift though I have not used it yet. I'm new to woodworking and more of a hobbyist currently, so budget friendly is a big part of my choices. I plan on putting it in a mobile workbench so I am happy to see you review it. I planned on this fence as well. Thank you!
Denis, as usual your presentation is very profesional. It is a pleasure o look at your video.
Great video as always Dennis! Quick question about the fence, are you able to offset the outfeed side of the fence so you are able to use is for edge jointing? Thanks!
Great stuff Dennis. Regarding the fence - can you off set the out feed in order to carry out jointing work?
This looks like a great router lift for the price point.
Paired with a portable router table (and fence), this may be a great option for those that need portability. I'm thinking of pairing it with my Rockler convertible bench top router table if I can come up with a way to mount it into the proprietary plate opening that table has. Being able to swap it in and out between routing and (spindle) sanding at a job site would be great for trim work.
Do you have the plate dimensions handy? I may have missed that in your presentation.
Hey Dennis, Love the rankings, Just bought this set and waiting to install it. But at first glance it looks like Enjoy Wood saw the Video because template for the router seemed pretty snug now. Keep up the good work. Groeten.
I have got to say, the lift is very good for the price point.
I bought it for 120€ and that’s a bargain. Some people pay that much simply for the insert.
You are absolutely right in your assessment of the target group. I have a handheld router and can’t really justify buying a more powerful one simply to insert it in a table. This is excellent and for a very low price I can now build a router table that is absolutely sufficient for my needs…
I'm in the market right now for a router fence. I have a phenolic JessEm top and their totl lift plate. I'm not buying there fence though, wanted to build my own but after watching this I'm really impressed with this China fence.
I used to develop product in China. One of the products I developed was a Folding, reclining, Adirondack chair. It sold in the stores in the US for $180. Our landed cost per chair at customs was $12.50. What that should tell you is that The wood, metal fittings, cutting, milling, finishing, boxing and shipping costs, all added together, per chair, had to be somewhat LESS that $5 each. The lumber yard made a profit. The wood shop and metal parts suppliers made a profit, even the shipping company made a profit, and it still only cost $12.50.
Then, of course we paid a custom’s duty. And we charged a profit to the retailer who distributed and sold it. And they then triple that cost to steel it to the consumer.
Mass production is capable of producing things for staggeringly low costs. Its all the middle men that make everything cost so much.
And all that profit goes to the Chinese military. How much is that going to cost us?
@@Charlesredporsche you are so right! One day they will be sending the wealth back as bullets and missiles.
@@Charlesredporsche Manufacturing goes to China because of greedy companies in your own country, so blame US companies then. However your claim that all money that goes to China gets spent on their military is silly and clearly false. Besides which US weapons manufacturers and military contractors would just have their bought and paid for politicians fabricate an excuse for high military spending even if China didn't exist.
Thank you for your hard work and honest review, Dennis! Your channel has become a valuable source of information for me on choosing tools for my workshop. Believe it or not, yesterday I spent the whole day drawing sketches of a router table and puzzling over how best to design a parallel fence with movable cheeks and dust extraction. It looks like you are just reading the minds of your subscribers as this video came out at the perfect moment! I think now I'll just buy such a device and save my time.
I have been looking forward to this episode, Dennis. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for this interesting video! What material are you using to make your router table?
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
5:00 hi Dennis, in this video you use the Jessem Clear Cut stock guides (at 5:00). These stock guides use a ¼” t-bolt, and I am having trouble fitting them in the 6mm slot on the front face. Did you have the same problem ? and did you have to modify either the slot or the t-bolts to make them fit ?? thank you !
Hey Dennis! Thanks for sharing. The router lift looks pretty nice. Just one remark on the router: Even though it seems to be a nice idea to have a mobile solution by using a battery powered device, I would strongly advocate a cable version for the following security reason: The switch of the router is underneath the table and practically inaccessible - especially in an emergency situation. So it is a good idea to have the router switched on and plug it into an emergency switch, that is accessible at the front of the table. This switch is mandatory here in Germany for off the shelf products like router tables. Obviously this does not apply for a table you build on your own - however it is still a good idea and it also eliminates the necessity to dive under the table every time you want to switch on the router.
Please keep up with your excellent work!
Best Regards
Andreas
Thanks, totally agree with you. Shame I didn’t mentioned it.
You can make your own circuit with an emergency switch and 2 battery adapter. I don't have the reference of the parts I used, but one converted the Makita battery to 2 fast on connectors, wired to the safety switch.
In term of safety if you kill the power through the e-stop, you cannot restart it unless you both reset the e stop and switch on again the Makita router.
Anyway I am so tempted to purchase this router lift! Looks much cheaper than manufacturing one.
@@sylvainboyer2310 Hi Sylvain, Could you elaborate on the parts you've used for installing an emergency switch to the cordless router ? I would be interested understanding what type of adapter you've connected to the body of the router to make it work. thanks
Dennis, can you offset 1 of the adjustable fence faces for jointing? On the previous wnew fence, you could shim the fence face for jointing.
Thanks for the review. What is that bit height measuring contraption at 12:03?
great review…..please what material were u cutting for your diy router table?
Firstly, thank you for all of your videos, they have been enormously helpful to me. With regard to the issue of sawdust when routing dados, I know that there is a dust catcher from Rockler that sits at the end of the router table but I think that there is a better solution: boat deck plates with an underside connection to the vacuum or to the router's dust collection cabinet. The plates sit flush with the work surface and are air-tight. You unscrew the cover only when routing dados. The distance between the port and the router bit is dependent on the size of the opening (the one I bought is 78 mm) and the draw of the vacuum system and probably best determined by trial.
Keep up the great work. I look forward to each new episode. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment.
Been eyeing this router lift as I only have a handheld trim router
Thanks a lot from Germany, verry helpfull 🙂
perfect as always mr. Dennis!
You should review the tiltable router lift from sauter shop.
Hi Dennis thanks for these videos. I find them informative.
Do you live in Poland?
Do you know if it's possible to purchase a separate set of the mounting brackets so you can swap the lift to another table as needed?
Hi Dennis, does the Fence have offset available between in fence and outfence?
If it's possible to do so, how easy is it to do set up for vertical jointing, meaning to offset the outfeed fence laterally so that the trimmed edge rests against it?
Dear Dennis, just found your channel when searching for this router lift. Whatched many videos from your channel. Really nice and professionally made. I have 2 questions:
1. Would you know what the purpose of the part is that is labelled "adhust" on the bottom and is secured by the u-shaped part with two bolts?
2. What is the grey material from which you made the work bench? Is it PVC, colored MDF, colored HDF? I am also in the Netherlands. If you have a good source I would be grateful if you could indicate it.
Groeten Bernhard
Hi Dennis, yet another excellent review 😁. I bought the original Router Fence you reviewed and found it to be just what I needed. I prefer the dust extraction port at the end of the fence, rather than the middle at the back.
The micro adjust is "O.K." but not really "micro".
I am hoping the Incra LS25 Positioner will adapt to the Fence as this will turn it into a much more high-end fence system.
I understand that Benchdogs make an adaptor plate which fits the LS positioners, but not sure if you have reviewed that in any of your videos.
I will review that soon. But to be short it work perfect. I always made it myself and that works good enough as well.
@HookedonWood Thanks Dennis 😁
Thanks Dennis I can always rely on your reviews
Hi Dennis
would you be able to tell me whether my Metabo OFE 738 is compatible with this router lift? Your help and experience would really be appreciated
Hi Denis, can you tell me the distance between the center of the two sliding rails (300 mm ones). I mean the distance between the two long screws (vertical one who tight the fence to table). Thank yoou
ola denis, una pregunta donde puedo recojer los (Tafelzaagdrukker) que usar.un saludo
I'd love to purchase this fence on its own. I'm starting out my woodworking journey, and building my first workbench at the moment. I'm integrating a DeWalt jobsite tablesaw and a Triton JOF001 router with an undrilled Kreg router plate - but I don't have a fence yet to install. [EDIT] - I see now the fence is available. This is GREAT! Thanks Dennis!
Thanks for the great reviews Dennis. Do you know if the dewalt battery router fits in the lift? Thank you

Good video Dennis, the usual attention to detail, it's very useful to decide before one buys. I don't agree that packaging issues have been resolved, I had a speed square arrive 2 weeks ago, damaged due to extremely poor packaging. If your order arrives, correct and not damaged, it's happy days but if that isn't the case, resolving problems with them is slow and frustrating.
Sorry to hear that. The items they sent me over last year are a big improvement over the years before.
I just received a set square today, badly bent, packaging just not up to it. I would post a photo but cant seem to paste one here@@HookedonWood
Dennis, does this fence lack an offset capability (set left side forward of right side)?
Again, Dennis, an excellent review.
I spent the last few evenings looking at your previous and older episodes. Your planning, dedication, presentation, honesty and your meticulous effort to attention on detail are just desirable. As one of your other subscribers mentioned, after watching your reviews I feel very confident making choices for my next purchases.
You may be very proud of your great service (and entertainment) to all your viewers. I need to add, you do have a, keen sense of humour, love it!
English is not my home language either, but in comparison, your English is more than mastered.
Bless you too.
Your South African fan.
Thank you very much for your kind words! Motivating for me!
Hi, I am kinda new in all this. And I was looking for a router lift and maybe fence for later. This review really helped me to choose this one. But I got one question. I have a bosch GKF 600 hand router. And wanted to know if this model would also fit in this router lift. The Diameter from the router is 70.5cm. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for sharing your review of these products. Definately, they can be useful in my small shop and financially a good purchase. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
What is that material you made the table out of?
hooked on vooood ! thanks for the reviews
What material is that table top made from? Coloured all the way through?
Not sure what language the purchase buttons are in, but is there a purchase site available where I can tell which buttons are which?
Can someone tell me the minimum and maximum possible distance between the two T-tracks of the Fence? My fence is not coming until mid-August and I am building a workbench.
Thanks Dennis, the fence is on my shopping list once I have built a new shop.
How bad is the shipping to the states feel like after the shipping costs from bangood i may as well look at other products... any thoughts
Thanks for showing this China tools. Maby by using an template guide bushing and not an trimming router you have no gap between router lift and the workplace at installing
I think you are right👍
Hi Dennis, brilliant video mate, thank you
Pretty impressive tools indeed, Dennis! 😃
Thanks for the review!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hello!
I was wondering what are the measurements of the T-slot on the 45mm plate that goes into the table? I can't find it on the Banggood website.
Keep up the good work!
Greetings from Sweden
It ist 45.1mm x 13mm.
I Just found this information in the Pictures at banggood.
Hi, if I understand correctly, first of all you have to create the part that receives the 2 rails...with a router.
Awesome products and great review
Interesting video Dennis. As always 🙂. You are my favorite TH-camr !!! Keep up the good work. Have a nice quiet weekend.
Thanks, looking forward to it 😁
Maybe the template for the cutout of the router lift is meant to be used with a guide bushing instead of a flush trim bit?
Great review Dennis as always👌!! Perfect timing too when my intention is to soon start a router table setup:). You've got me convinced on the fence. Which router plate would you recommend to go along with the Triton TRA001?
I liked the triton incra combination
@@HookedonWood Thanks! Would that be the basic insert plate, or the Mast-R lift II?
Does this stuff reall reach us in the US? I am worried if I order something and its coming from China or the Netherlands I couldn't get it. I even question paying for items on PayPal.
dennis this router lift 65mm we can use any brand palm router cordless or corded? and also the router fence?
They gave me the brands that fit, which is makita and DeWalt. Other will probably fit, but you have to find the dimensions yourself. I found out that this is not always easy

Have you looked at the China tools version of the jessem stock guides? I’ve been considering them but haven’t seen anyone who has them for thoughts
What material are you using to make your router table? I would like to use the same.
Looks like so called deep black mdf to me.
Hoi Dennis, heb je deze tool nog? Heb je een update?
Good review. ThX! I just purchased the router lift. It is on sale now € 140,- till 2023-07-18
Great stuff, thanks! That lift looks really nice for my makita xgt router. Btw I see you are using 3ah pack for your 18v router, I would suggest you use 4 or 5ah pack since it is a higher power tools and 3ah packs are a bit weaker.
Great tip! Thanks
Not cheap. For around that amount I built a digital fence- select the position and it drives there, with an accuracy of 0.01mm. It includes a linear rail mitre (cross) fence. And the touch screen controller plus all electronics. And a digital lift mechanism (just insert the desired height). And auto lift-and-lock for bit change. And auto setting for finger and dovetail joints. And variable width dados. And fully automatic cutting of mortices, biscuit slots, dowels, etc. All aluminium alloy construction with thermoplastic faced workpiece guides.
Having to set your fence and bit height by hand is so last century...
Could you share some more information or even a plan? :)

Brother,

Well done kind Sir...Thank you Dennis! ❤You!
I’m all in any “All 5s” reviews from Denis!
Did you try a template bit, because there is an offset on those which is probably what that supplied template was made for.
I normally use template bits that do jot have an off set. But I saw one online that indeed would have solved the problem
This is a very nice lift. I just recently purchased a JessEm lift for my full sized router, but having a small lift for my Makita trim router would be awesome. My only problem with this lift is that I would have to have a dedicated table for it. My only table is for the JessEm. Otherwise I would definitely purchase this little guy.
I can see this being useful for a dedicated 1/4" router table. Would save having to replace the collet when switching between 1/2"and 1/4" bits.
I am thinking of something like this. Want some simple bits as a secondary table, easy accessible and always ready to use.
Great stuff as always! I don’t know what it’s like where you are but when it comes to half inch routers, in the UK you can only get plunge routers in the affordable area. That means that there aren’t any affordable lift systems as far as I can tell.
I’m having to think of a super dodgy way of adapting my half inch plunge router.
I guess expensive CNC motors are an option, shame though
There’s the option of getting a triton, they have built in lift functionality!
Sorry Dennis, this time it's not such a bargain. The Trend fence is half the price and just as good. It's hard to see the benefit of importing it yourself, dealing with a tricky returns policy and paying a premium when the alternatives are better.
You are assuming everyone lives in USA. I don't. For me importing from china is cheaper than importing from US.
You have to be joking. The Trend is at most, half the fence this is. Lesser quality materials, far fewer included parts and accessories. Also made in China.
The price on its own may be relatively good, but when you factor in the delivery charge from China it adds another $85 this puts me off and I would just look closer to home (UK)
For those building their own bespoke fence, I recommend Woodpecker's (expensive) micro-adjust. One single knob to adjust your fence with extreme precision is awesome.
It's the thing I didn't know I needed, but now I can't live without.
Or build a digital fence. More accurate (0.01mm) and moves at the press of a button.
Interesting products. Unfortunately, starting from the same position as you were in, I've meanwhile found alternative solutions for both the router fence (bought a rather capable self-made fence on ebay for way less than 100 Euro (now slightly over 100 Euro) out of plywood and 3d printed parts a while ago) and I replaced the crappy Makita by a much larger Triton and a Sauter insert plate (which is featurewirse rather similar to this router lift -- sans the lift of course). I certainly wouldn't go back to a Makita but if there was a cheap but good router with the same diameter that would seem like a great solution.
you know you're good when your freshly bought WNEW route fence is being reviewed by Denis from Hookonwood xD
@LQ-gaming do you write ad copy? And does lq stand for low quality?
What size do I need for a makita drt50, for some reason I am unable to find the body diameter of that
Good question. Working on that.

@@HookedonWood bought the router lift for my makita, and it seems great, although I don't understand the red circle for small adjustments, sometimes it turns and sometimes it doesn't. And because I was impatient, I cracked the casing to my router, it has to be placed very specifically to fit.
That lift probably isnt for me, but the fence looks decent for mild use. Thank you sir!
I think you hit the mail on his head. It's a lift what I was looking for. .I am the beginner hobby bob 🙂. I have that Makita router. Thanks for the tip en greets from almost your old hometown (near that)
this looks a lot like my bench dog router extension table fence.
Ek het een van jou videos in Nederlands gekyk. Ek kon 80% van die gesprek volg. Jou standaard van aanbieding in beide tale is van hoogstaande gehalte, baie geluk.
Dennis- have you found Makita lithium 6 amp batteries made by Bangood that are good or by other suppliers? - Makita is very expensive, but I love their products.
I bought a Banggood Makita battery. It lasted 3 months and won’t charge any more. Don’t waste your money.
It's a good thing, challenge with China things marketing is not described well online .
Hi Dennis
I wish some of this stuff was sold in the US without having to import; lots of cool tools in China that we don't get because its not a name brand.
Hi rad i have bought some of the tools that dennis has recommended
I live in the east cost of canada . delivery by mail takes 3 to 5 weeks (worst near christmas)
arrives at no extra cost and the packing never broken open
The router lift seems to have a high qualitity. But without a solution for dust extraction...nothing for me 😢
You can always make a dust extraction box underneath it. That is way better than some attempts of dust extraction at the underside without a box.
Looks an absolutely fantastic piece of kit, but it's hardly affordable.
I will add it to my wish list, it looks a very well built fence
Just looked at this as seemed a good fence for the price until they added shipping £65. That’s a joke
As always my wallet is getting lighter, I could do with a drill dress table with fence/ extraction if come across one .
By using children & prisoners as labour, using machineryvwith no safety guards plus dumping any toxic waste in the river...
You don’t deserve to live in this world. I’m really feeling sorry for you.
