Hi, I'm an old sewer, (started when I was 10 and I'm 61 now). You are doing a fantastic job, especially for a new sewer. I absolutely love seeing all the enthusiasm and passion young sewers share. Please keep on going and trying everything, trust me the learning never stops and I still learn things from all of you on youtube. Congratulations on this collection.
You are amazing! What incredible, difficult items you ate tackling and mastering! You are getting such a good fit, not perfect, but oh so close! Making each of those items a second time will be hugely beneficial for your progress. Your mint jacket is gorgeous! Maybe a bit on the large side, but very gorgeous! I also love your frugal frock! You're inspiring me to try making trousers and a jacket! For your hoodie ties, I would just leave them. I like them as they are, kind of like little tassels. You could snip them shorter I suppose. I know there are aglets that you can purchase if you desire that look instead. Thank you for sharing all your makes!
Hi Elle I am a beginner sewer too but I am a bit older than you but I love, love(intentional 2 loves there!) seeing all the things that you have sewn and the progress you are making each time. I have made a few items and each time I feel more confident and I thinkthe biggest thing for me is learning to take my time and just checking each step as I go. It can be all too easy to rush ahead as you want to finish a garment. Keep up the wonderful creating and the happy outlook you have is so refreshing. Take care and lots of love xx
The trousers fit you so well - I'm so jealous! Trousers do need functioning pockets though otherwise you will constantly go to put your hand in a pocket that isn't there. The blue screen works well for IG but we like to see the homely background on youtube so no need to hide it! I also love your tracksuit, but the jacket is so good.
Hi Elle, wow, you have been busy 😁. Great makes there and we'll done with the trousers...they look really lovely on you and I wouldn't worry about the two tone..it looks really interesting 👌. I really want to make the Ilford Jacket...such a versatile and useful garment to have... it's definitely on my list to make and I love the colour of yours 💚. Loving the Stella and Joggers too... I've made the Hudson Pants but must try Tilly's joggers to see the difference in them 👍. Really enjoyed watching Elle 💝😁😘
You may be a beginner sore but you are attempting things that Advanced sores would do. You are evidently not afraid to tackle anything. You are doing a great job, just keep sewing you're doing wonderful
I NEEEEED that tracksuit set! 😍 I think leaving the cord ends like that should be fine? I'm sure they won't unravel beyond the knot, and I actually like the look of them! Also, you look gorgeous in your frugal frocks dress. Totally agree that it would be lovely to wear to a summer wedding.
Wow, you got a lot done in March! I am about to get to work on an Ilford Jacket and seeing yours is getting me all kinds of excited! Those buttons! Stunning! Loving the tracksuit as well, great color! All your makes are lovely!
All your makes look fantastic, the dress still looks great on you! Awesome job on that jacket too, going to check out the pattern. Thanks for a great video, enjoy watching you :)
Love all of your makes and super love your honesty showing your fails x especially love the Bertha I think I need to revisit the pattern I wasn’t keen on my one x Thankyou for great videos x
Some great pieces.,The fit the trousers were pretty perfect, only a slight adjustment. Plus that jacket, a real challenge for a beginner. I know you will wear it with pride
I loved your video, thank you for taking the time to share your makes and I love that I can see the whole outfit now, I am starting to sew garments and I am loving it, I am about to cut out out the Molly top by "Sew over It" in a stripe ponte roma. Wish me luck!
I love your videos! I was just scrolling through some fabric / haberdashery shops and I saw Prym "Rose Gold Cord Ends" in The Rag Shop - they might work for your hoodie :-)
If the cords on the tracksuit are polyester I'd trim them then just carefully melt the very ends with a lighter to stop it fraying. Or just leave it as is, it looks good imo!
When I saw your jacket cuff I thought "Oh, what an original design detail" and then you said it was a mistake. I still think it makes the cuff more interesting and , had you done the same on the other cuff, you could claim it as an innovation. I'm still thinking of trying to replicate it. Congratulations on the placket. Regarding the Stella joggers- I am thinking of making these as a slimmer version of jersey trousers that I have made but I don't want them too slim. Do you think the tight fit was due to choosing the wrong size for you or is it that the design is for a tight fitting pair of joggers?
Ah thats very kind of you to say, thank you. I think the fit is definitely a slim jogger, but now ive worn them a few times, they definitely seem to have loosened up a bit x
I think you have to stop saying at the start that you are a beginner sewer 😁 you are attempting and nailing things I wouldn't make. Love all your makes, that dress is lovely.
