I've been enjoying 2t oaks a lot since Forestry I because it makes the skill feel like its legacy version again (apart from the infinite trees). No toxic w301, no events/forced d&d, .6x mage exp - very nice!
I love skilling, and afk to me is something I can pay (a little ) attention to. If it is brain dead? I think that kills what the game is. Most games have afk things, but it’s still intense if you don’t have the right build, and RuneScape has always had chill, afk, click every so often on a fishing spot, tree or mining spot, and just watch something or whatever. I’m okay with some of the updates, but slowly it seems they are adding things to increase afk and to give the high level community something to do. Great video as always!
Could you give your opinion on this topic; during the forestry 2 showcase livestream bonfires were showcased, a question from the chat was if they had any other intention with bonfires than just being purely cosmetic. The answer to this question was that currently the bonfires are only cosmetic but that if there is intrest from the community a run restoration effect could be added to sitting down at the bonfire. As bonfires are f2p it could be assumable that this run restoration could come to f2p as well, if the run restoration is polled. Opinion? I thought this would be something intresting to hear from you.
Run restoration isn't really that important for regular accounts since we have energy pots already. Would devalue ironman a bit i'd assume so i'd rather that not exist then.

I'm not currently playing the game and haven't for a while, but I've found myself tuning into the f2p community because you all seem to be of a similar mind of enjoying what makes runescape the game we grew up playing. One thing I'm interested in is the longevity of the game. I'm wondering if you or anybody else around the community have made videos or rambles specifically talking about the longevity of the game, how the game has changed or progressed over time, from either a f2p or p2p perspective. The closest content I've found on the subject is autumnelegy's rant several years back, and your video on the spirit of osrs sort of hit on that. So if you have a f2p podcast/videos you can point me toward I'd appreciate it. And my last question: If you haven't made a video on this subject, would you be interested in making one in the future?

My problem with it is that it's a 200%+ increase in woodcutting rates for barely any extra effort than normally afk chopping trees. I'm relatively okay with a small boost from multiple players chopping the same tree, but forestry events are absurdly broken.
The events wouldn't be that crazy though since a lot of your time spent wood chopping would have to be the normal methods. Idk how much more than normal it'd be on average, but I'm sure it'd be a lot closer than right now. I thought the events themselves are fun to do, ignoring ehp/exp, but it'd be good if everyone was happy with them.
Aside from xp, the sapling event is fun but doesn't fit with woodcutting in the slightest. It should only give farming xp because how does putting literal poop on a tree give you experience (and knowledge) of the act of chopping trees. The answer is it doesn't. The content doesn't belong with woodcutting, it should exist somewhere in its own minigame and not disrupt the perfectly acceptable, legacy skill of woodcutting. Roots are boring, just click and afk.
