Hey everyone, the greatest results that i've ever had was by following the Swift soothe system (i found it on google) - without a doubt the best info that I have ever seen.
I love your videos. They are not only informational but truly helpful as well. Through utilizing some of the products and techniques you have demonstrated over the past few years, I was able to correct some major hair damage I suffered 7 months ago as a result of a failed home process. Thank you. You are really a hair god send. This was a great video and I was happy that you commented on the use of Acv on the hair which seems to be the rage right now.
Thank you so much for this video 💙💙 I've always had trouble with a dry scalp and hair, I know it's all from hormonal/thyroid issues but still a huge pain! Thank you again!
Thank you for this video! I have thick wavy Latina hair, however my scalp is sensitive and tends to get flaky and dry. I can't wait to try out some new methods. Also thank you for always focusing on education in your videos.
SO helpful! I tend to experience dry scalp more when I neglect my hair or after blow drying and pressing (main reason why I hate pressing my hair). Using a bag while blow drying is something new that I'll take up! I love your videos! Always something new to learn, easy to understand, and helps me tweak my hair routine! 😁😁😁
Very informative as always. I just lately started to get itched scalp. I went to derm . He gave me some ointment and shampoo. It dried my hair. Keep pushing those videos take care
I wish I knew what my problem was.. I cut out ALL perm in order to go natural. I have 4C hair and it's about 1 inch long. My scalp and hair are BONE dry. I will put Vitamin E on my scalp, it's gone in an hour.. I will use Rice water and a water based leave in conditioner, bone dry in an hour.. Idk what to do... My hairline is the only part that is flaky... I'm so frustrated..
This was super helpful. My daughter has natural hair and gets dandruff like crazy. I wash her hair once a week. I start off by trying to remove the dandruff with a comb than I wash, condition and let it air dry than when I'm ready to do it I'll moisturize it. What products would you recommend?
What if I like. Do all of these and still have an issue? Like idk how to explain lol my scalp has gotten a lot better but its still wildly flakey. Maybe i need to wash my hair more. Idk
Can you recommend me the best dry scalp shampoo and conditioner for curly course hair and any other products I should be using to prevent the huge flakes I get like every 3 days after I wash my hair
Do you have any hair advice for someone who is trying to successfully grow their hair out through long term weave wearing, i.e. sew ins? I still strive to keep my hair healthy underneath my protective styling but struggle with doing so.
Okay, I need help. So right now, I've been diagnosed with either Folliclitius or Dissecting Cellulitis of the Scalp. While I"m PRAYING it's not either of these, I've always wanted to grow my hair out. But I'm doing it all wrong. I've already stared the antibotic treatment again but I need to keep my scalp moisturized without adding too much water for bacteria to breed. How do I do that? I've been washing my hair with medicated shampoo about 2 times a week and it's scabbing and flaking up like crazy. Especially in the back. I'm going to try the hot oil treatment but I don't know which oil would be best to use? Also, with the massage of the scalp, if I have scabbing, would it still be wise to massage and potentially irritate my scalp? I want to keep my hair (btw LOVE yours) but it's been difficult.
Yes, the massaging when shampooing I will do that, I have psoriasis and the dead skin sticks to the new one causing pain and shame. So I will that. One question with my condition should I do the hot oil on my hair?
***** I recommend that you try using medicated shampoos for your psoriasis to help normalize your scalp issues. you can add conditioner with your oil if you want to kill two birds with one stone.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.the more my hair grows and becomes thicker ever since I chopped off my ends from transitioning its been so dry, itchy, flaky. I have to was my hair 2-3 times a week. My scalp looks like hair that's been under weave for 3 months in just two days after washing
My scalp didn't start to get dry, itchy and flaky until I put my hair in wearable twists. I used a clarifying shampoo last week and it felt a little better but now is going back to being itchy and this is day 3. You think that maybe twists can irritate the scalp? I normally have my hair in a huge twistout so maybe I might have to go back to it
Kendra Ann do you have hair extensions in for your twists? If so you are probably allergic or your scalp is irritated by the solutions used to process the hair
My sister and I have also noticed that when we do braids or twists (always without extensions) our scalps become much more itchy and flaky than if it were, say, in a bun or two. It's sad because the style takes a lot of work just to be scratched and washed 3 or 4 days later. I'm trying things out to try and remedy the role because braids and cornrows were my favorite go-to style.
I believe that was my problem. It took a minute for my scalp to go back to normal but now it is. I never knew that twists without extensions can cause the same problem. I hate that because it really gave me a break from twisting so much
So I think I had scalp psoriasis. But I've recently been using acv to cleanse my hair. When I co wash and shampoo. I shampoo and co wash every other week. Using acv has helped a lot. I don't get any scabs on my hair anymore or really intense itching. But my hair still itches. Not all the time. But like there would just be an itch but it's not chronic. So my question is: is it normal for hair to itch occasionally?
luvpurple95 Hmm... itchiness usually is the result of dry or oily scalp. Try using rosemary oil with your favorite oil to reduce the itchiness. It also depends on how your hair is styled. If your rocking a weave your scalp is going to be a little itchy
my scalp has been very dry and itchy. i have been using the suave essentials daily clarifying shampoo for 4 weeks and deep condition ( 4 wash days) am i shampooing/clarifying too much? and should i cowash a little more?
AfrikanHairGod i dont cowash at all i shampoo because i feel that it will help my super itchy scalp. I washed yesterday but my scalp is already itching pretty badly.
amara Thomas get rid of the coconut oil. It's probably irritating your scalp. Some people develop a "resistance" to the coconut oil and with the temperature decreasing, it may be solidifying on your hair and scalp; potentially, it may be coating and suffocating your scalp which leads to itchiness. Use a lighter oil such as vegetable oil (yep the oil from the grocery store) for a couple weeks and see if you notice a difference. Please let me know if it helped your problem.
AfrikanHairGod in the process i did more itchy scalp research and did some experimenting. the issue was that when shampooing my hair, the shampoo wasnt directly on my scalp so it wasnt cleansed properly. thank you for the help 💖
***** lol o ok I think maybe if I would manually massage my hair and then use the scalp brush then that would be better but idk it is probably gimmicky it seems like everything is these days
Jojoba seemed to treat my dry scalp issues but didn't fix the situation. I could have a ph imbalance and definitely tried tea tree oil and of course temporal. Next on the list is myrrh. AfricanHairGod, would you think hemp oil to be good as a hot oil treatment as well?
AfrikanHairGod I'm having flaking a lot and it has become so difficult to style. I've locked my hair in the past before and had to remove my locs because of this.😭 I'd like to get it under control or all together got away so I can have my locs again 😔😭 I've tried most shampoos especially medical ones in the past (of course unfortunately they don't make it anymore and it's been years). I find myself making my own shampoos with black soap. Don't know what to do no more. 😩
Ayisha Zekeria and you said you tried the Nizoral shampoo as well? I'm not entirely sure what may be going on. But I don't think your selection of oils is going to help. This sounds more like an internal issue. I wish i could help more but unless I could see in person there's very little I can do
blaq2handle that happens to as well. The reason most woman get utvhy scalp with braids is because the hair is treated with a chemical that causes itchiness for some people. What helps is to soak the hair in some water with vinegar.
I really needed this for several reasons. 1) I loved the plastic bag method for blow drying the hair...never seen that before and will definitely do that. 2) I have naturally curly hair (3C or something like that) and I go to bed with my hair wet allllllll the time! I'm going to stop that immediately! I just wet my hair when I get in the shower at night and it takes forever to air dry so I fall asleep. Maybe I shouldn't soak my hair in the shower? What do you think? Thanks a million!!
MrsLB As long as your scalp isn't itchy, irritated or dry, then you should be okay with letting your hair dry overnight. I've only used shampoo bars a few times, specifically African Black soap and I had no issues with them.
I used it for 30 years; the answer is no, it doesn't work. However, I will use a razor thin coat of Vaseline to spot treat (any bodily) areas that I plan to exfoliate that same day. It serves to soften dead skin and cause it to lift more thoroughly as a bit of a sludge, rather than flakes which innately don't behave that way. To visualize, imagine using a damp paper towel, rather than dry, to dust a tabletop.
I was wondering what are your thoughts on the MAX HYDRATION METHOD? I haven't tried it, but am considering it soon. Thank you for the video, very informative!
Peace sn Blessins AHG .... PLS HELP ME ! I have 11 yr old Locs ... Did a protein treatment Aug 2016 ... My scalp was gd for 8 wks ... How do you feel about pinetar on scalp for growing hair
So I bought coconut oil hair milk smoothie, used it doesn't say to rinse the formula off. Should I leave it on or rinse the formula off? Recommend
I don't know lol
+AfrikanHairGod welp:( your video is informative though
I'm researching reducing blushing at home and discovered a great website at Fergs Rosy Resource (google it if you're interested)
Is it good to use baby oil for my scalp
have u ever tried the vitagoods shampoo scalp brush that would probably help to
I don't buy into gimmicky hypes like that. But if you don't feel like manually massaging that would definitely work as well.

AfrikanHairGod I've tried Nizoral as well. I also live in Toronto (Canada).
Can I use vegetable glycerin/water mix with tea tree oil to moisturize my scalp? I get a dry itchy scalp right after installing senegalese twists.
