Great video. I was going to buy some extra fittings or a bypass kit but realized you can just loop the coolant line right back into the engine cooler--no extras needed. thanks for showing this, I'm using locking pliers right now but will try this soon
Buddy thanks so much for this video!!! It helped me a lot on the road today when one line in my truck was leaking!!! I froze trying to fix it, but was having no luck until I found your video!!! Thank you so much and good luck on the road!
My heater core just went out! Started a couple of days ago and then two days later a flood! Does simple advice has bought me some time until I can get my car to the mechanic. Thank you very much and good luck to you!
I had no idea I could do this thank you for your video you make it so much easier than everybody else cuz they always go into big details and it looks like it's always a hard job but thank you that means so much easier I'm going to show this to a lot of people I hope you have more videos thank you this is Carol

I have a GMC truck Sierra 1500i have a leek from the top of the engine i followed the hose and it goes to the firewall for the heatet core how should i stop the leek?
I bought a bypass kit and i did it myself but its still leaking 😢 i dont know of its the position of the hoses or if its not tight enough cause i have notice when i moved the hoses around the coolant will last long then other days any advice
Yeah is gonna keep leaking inside the cabin until all the coolant in the heatercore comes out ... but if is leaking by the engine could be the hoses or the clamp
@brosolution thanks for responding I think I may need to just have someone look at it but I hate having to pay someone a arm and a leg just to check things 😅
Hi there. I have question. I had two of my heater core hoses. But i took it to a mecánic and only left me with one heater core hose so my heating system does work. But im pissed off because he never notified me he would take the other hose out. I think thats the one connected to the motor. Im being driving my isuzu ascender for weeks now wanted to ask if that would cause my vehicle any further damages.
Ok sound like he by pass the heatercore with one of the hose.. this will not cause any damage to your engine or to the car... but when ever you ready to fix your heatercore your gonna need the other hose he removed
@@brosolution Thank you for your support!! I have another issue. Where my antifreeze container laids down. I video recorded. And saw leaking antifreeze underneath my reservoir container falling down the right tire. I being thinking i might have a broken reservoir from underneath. Because i see lots of dripping in the middle where it laids. Someone told me to change the hose connected to the radiator that is attached to the reservior. I order a container and bought the hose at autoparts im crossing my fingers that this resolves my problem. At the beginning i thougt it was the letter tee heater hose took it down to a shop Because the right side arm tire was rubbing alot to the hose and had being leaking antifreeze. I told the mecanic if he could adjusted shorter he endup cutting it from both edges. And without my permittion took the other hose off. When i got there to the shop he said i didn't need to pay him nothing. Very weird right? He said i will charge double. Didn't know what he tried to tell me. Then drove my isuzu ascender next day in the morning was so cold since here we get Snowy days. Well i started to see lots of smoke coming through my tail pipe and right side in front my hood i got very scared thinking it was burning but it didn't. parked at a side really quickly left engine one recorded a video of it. Too see whats was going on. Zoom it saw that there was a long antifreeze dripping was splashing to the middle of my hood. I took it to another shop the mecanic ask me who did it i didn't say. He said the hose is not in place is loose and he touch with his hand and said look antifreeze is leaking from here he brough something to tight the part. Then said i think you would be ok the issue is resolve your ok to drive it know i left.then next day my truck came to is tempeture i notist the dripping continúe not from the hose. But i observe a video i had taken before i saw it coming from underneath my reservoir where it laids down underneath. Dripping behind to the cover of my right tire also but i look closely and the dripping is down my reservoir. Then i said to my self is probably been this the issue all this time i wasted going to the mecanic for nothing because he end up taking my second heater hose when i had it because i saw it i always take videos before i take it in. I also have a powersteering leaking. Couple months i took it to another mecanic to put a new pcv valve and told him to put a new pcv valve and maf sensor and clean my throttle body. But i notist when i went to get a reading code in auto parts the computer reads i need to replace a new maf sensor. And reads a misfire i fix that issue also reads catalyst. And after they fix the misfire check engine came off. Then at a street was a bump didn't see it but i was going slow and out sudden check engine came back. Went to get it check again now i dont see the catalyst or maf sensor. But it saids " most likely solution" manifold gasket? So the guy at autoparts tells me i might have a vacuum leak somewhere. Thats why he suggest me to get the radiator hose. But im thinking maybe is because my container is broken might have visible dripping underneath or some clamp is loose. Or could it be powersteering or not. Im so confused.
This will stop it from leaking - but I wont be able to run defrost for window or the heater- correct? I was told the ac will still work ?? ** I bought a heather core bypass kit from Auto Zone. It looks like I will be able to do this myself tomorrow. Thank you. I cant afford the 4 - 6 1/2 hr labor. The car was used 270,000. Radiator is held on with chicken wire - so its not worth the money but if I can fix it myself - all good. Thank you
Is my understanding right, I will have heat, but not the defrost it will not blow from the front windshield is that correct, will it blow through the air conditioning vent, if so will it be hot? I have a 2007 Uplander, heater core leaking on the passenger floor side. I would love to bypass is my wife's car, I will never let her not have the defrost from the windshield working I will have to sleep on the couch.
Hey sir i bypassed my coolant hoses in throttle body but now im leaking alot of coolant from ac drain . Doni have to bypass heater core to make coolant leak stop from tge ac drain . All my coolant went empty out the dran pipe
Happened to me recently. Soggy floorboards. Smoke coming through ac vents. Scariest thing watching that meter go all the way to H while driving. The shop i went to did this method. Im gonna just leave it. Im in the south..we dont need a heater. Lol
I dont know if you still read this, but I want to bypass my 09 F150 , can you just unplug both hoses, and buy a connector , then just use the connector to put the two hoses together instead of having to buy a new hose?
Hello, how are you I want to replace a heater core for my Grand Marquis. Do you recommend any specific high quality heater core? And what is the name of the company
"realfixesrealfast" TH-cam channel made a hack video of him changing out a Taurus heater core in 1.5 hrs. They said it works on the mercury cars too. You have to cut a piece of metal in the dash.
The drawback is not having any heat or defrosting capabilities until the heater core is replaced and hooked back up. Where i live no heat is preferable to pulling my dashboard, AC, and whatever else to change the heater core
Or in your case, do not cut hoses, pull one off on the engine side and connect the remaining hose on port you just pulled hose off of, no cutting. Or connect the two together with a hose coupler.. Only do this in an emergency. And not all vehicles have the same style connectors at firewall.
You have to be careful with cars that have an oil cooler like Chrysler 200. You have to put the adapter on the hoses that are against the firewall I tried doing it to the hoses before and coolant was not going to the oil cooler and I overheated
Good question....I seen ppl the done with a small kink but I feel like that can affect the circulation on the coolant system and it might overheat the engine
Ironically, I had a brand new 7/8 coolant hose in my trunk that was brand new It was about a foot and a half long I just stuffed each end into the other end so it was a circle like this I didn’t even need tools
I hate her core provides a restriction at a different temperature on the retired line this messes up your cars computer and then you only get about 10 miles a gallon
Take your radiator cap off and let the engine idle for 20 minutes until all the air bubbles are gone. Just make sure you keep an eye on the coolant temperature gauge on the dash.
How can air be trapped using the bypass, it simply route the water back to water to the original water connection. Just open the radiator cap while cold and round the engine a while to let the bubble out and then put the cap back.

Thank you so much for your information and kindness to reach out to help others!!
Thanks for your help. I have a leaking heater core but I live in Texas so it's no big deal to not have heat. Thanks.
This should help
Great video. So very well explained!!
Thank you brother !
Will this impact AC cooiling thermostate function if we want to decrease AC cooling temperature?
It won't affect at all I seen ppl the never changes the heatercore and just drive the car like this forever no issues

Excellent! Thank you!
would that be for rear heater core on a minivan or only the front heater core
Only front heater but if you know the system you can cancel de rear heater as well doing a similar process
So u can bypass the heater core under the hood without removing dashboard for a 2014 Dodge avenger? Will a shop do it?
Yes any shop will do it but the dealer lol

Good fix for the summer months only, can't imagine driving in freezing cold months though.
Ya no shit
Shiiit in Cali LA to be specific they shouldn’t even have heaters 😂😂😂
Nice video, thanks!
Bro. Thx so much I'm in hot as hell Florida anyway 😎lol that line was leaking , I'm going to do this for now 👍
Nice!!!
let me know if you got any questions in the process
Do you still have AC after this? Also do you need to plug the lines going into the heating core?
Yes sir the ac will still blow cold.. you just won't have any heat for when is cold
So the 2 lines coming out from the firewall can just stay open or is it best to just cap it off.
Yes np if there open
It’s a good way to dry up the coolant that’s in the heater system. Just leave the firewall side open. Hopefully it doesn’t mess up anything else

Can I reuse the existing hose to do the bypass? And do I need to get hose connectors
Can I bypass the heater core on my chevy equinox 2012?
Yes sir
what if I just plug out the two hole ..using water plug?
It may overheat because the water.needs to circulate but you can do that just to get home if you broke down
Hi .. we already cutoff the heater core however is it okay to have 63celsius temp of aircon???
What kind of car Is it?
How do you put it back together to have heat again
You just have to reconect the original hose and add coolant in the system and you'll have heater again
god bless u bro
Thanks boddy same to you🙏🏼
Hi I've just watched your video. Please I want to know if my engine will heat if I bypass the heater cor?
It won't overheat anymore you can drive it like that for months I seen ppl the just leave it like that and they never change the heater core
@@brosolution thank you for explaining this to me...
If you delete the heater core it won’t to refill the colant?
Yes you still have to used coolant and make sure you top it of after
Okay so if you do this you no longer have any heat though right? Or will your car heater still work?
No more heater until you connect the lines back to the heatercore
Thank you
Choose between having heat or having coolant spill all over the floor
Can a bad heater core cause engine heatup
Yes sir any coolant leak even If it I really small it can cause and engine to overheat
Can this be done to a 1993 civic??
Yea same process
Great video, for how long approximately can this last?
You can used like for aslong as need there's alot of ppl the just leaves it like if they don't need the heater in the car or truck
Nice video
Why there is no water coming out of those 2 open lines from the firewall?
I dont know if you still read this, but I want to bypass my 09 F150 , can you just unplug both hoses, and buy a connector , then just use the connector to put the two hoses together instead of having to buy a new hose?
Are all cars the same? One pipe inlet bigger on the Heater core inlet? Are you sure?
Will the ac still continue to blow cold breeze
Great question!!!
No this Will not affect the ac at all
That is a good idea. thank you

Thanks brother 👍
Will the heater work if the heater core is bypassed?
It won't work at all until you connect the hoses back to the heatercore..this option is only if you can't fix it right away
Did you lose a lot of coolant while you were replacing the hoses?
Yes about a gallon maybe a little more
@@brosolution Thank you, man. And thank you for the video.
Can you do this on a 1999 firebird

But will the heater work
Your doing this to disconnect from heater core, no, you will not have heat.
Can the heater core be relocated
Good question!! Unfortunately no
Can I have this as a permanent solution? In a heavy duty truck ? It’s old and I’m not tryna put more money into it
Yes with no problems the truck will be fine just won't have any heat inside the cabin
Great video!
Thanks I need to do this in my Hyundai iLoad
How long will it last
You can used it like that for as long as you want if you don't need the heater you can just drive it like that
@@brosolutionAwesome! Thanks so much. You explained it so even a dummy like me can understand. This will save me a lot of headaches. Thanks again.

Wat if you have a dccv
I’m about to do this shit I hope it works cause I broke my heater hose while fixing my Mustang
Yeah you'll be fine try it
Make sure you don't kink the hose.
does it affect the compressor?
I could use your assistance. Thanks for you video. I have a 97 Toyota 4runner. What hoses do I disconnect?
Find the 2 holes for coolant on the firewall and connect them.
How do you get that clamp off?
Ok to kink the hose ?
Good question....I seen ppl the done with a small kink but I feel like that can affect the circulation on the coolant system and it might overheat the engine
Won't work in Canada with -20 we need heat
Will I still be able to get heat?
No
Will the heat still work?
No because there's no hot water going to heatercore
"The maa knee" 😂😂😂
Will you still have ac
Yes this doesn't affect the ac
Ok but wat about the heat how is heat gona get into the car if it's bypassed????
That's the point u not
🎉
This will make my heat don't work right
That's right no heat until you hook it back
Can u help me please
What you got
U didn't turn on the car on
Ironically, I had a brand new 7/8 coolant hose in my trunk that was brand new It was about a foot and a half long I just stuffed each end into the other end so it was a circle like this I didn’t even need tools

Need help bro
What you brother
YEAH
With a 2009 Chrysler 300
Don’t do this please it mess up your car. I did this on my Infiniti g35 now air is trapped in the cooling system 😡
Take your radiator cap off and let the engine idle for 20 minutes until all the air bubbles are gone. Just make sure you keep an eye on the coolant temperature gauge on the dash.
Not sure on newer vehicles but... there used to be a bleeder for radiator...
How can air be trapped using the bypass, it simply route the water back to water to the original water connection. Just open the radiator cap while cold and round the engine a while to let the bubble out and then put the cap back.
