How do you screw up the passes? How often have you trained? It is primarily responsibility of the runner with the baton to give the command when to start and when to reach. If you force your runner to look back you have already lost time, and if they have to come to almost a complete stop you've lost the race.

Only way JAM can win is if USA makes dumb mistakes like what happened here. No Felix, no Jeter mean less experience. But Gardner more than made up for it in Rio on the gold medal team.
