Individual 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce adds another gold medal to her collection by helping Jamaica to victory in the women’s 4x100m.
Their team had been hit by the withdrawal of double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson, meaning they had to draft in 400m specialist Shericka Jackson, who'd taken bronze in her specialist event two days prior.
Nevertheless, the Jamaicans proved unbeatable and won comfortably in 41.44, holding off Great Britain & Northern Ireland (41.85) and USA (42.10).

Sherika Jackson is one of the most versatile athlete in Jamaica. She has run 100m, 200m and 400m races and have performed well. Jackson was more than capable of holding her own when she was attending Vere Technical high. She has been a part of their 4x100m relay team and 4x400m. There seems to be something special about athletes who came from near the cockpit or live there, such as Bolt, VCB, Deon Hemmings and Jackson. Next year is going to be great as the young ones will be coming to stake their claims to the team.

It should be put in more 100m and 200m races throughout the year, and it would certainly arrive easily in the 10 and 21 seconds. would fit perfectly into a relay straight, just like an excellent 4x400 relay leg. I don't think so because Shelly-Ann was off to have her baby, Elaine was taken off due to injuries and Veronica pulled out from the trials because of injuries too, and none of the ladies( on the 2017 team) made it to the 100m or 200m final, so I was kinda suprise to see them still giving such strong competition. Another great run by Jamaica, it’s going to be good to see what they can do in Tokyo next year! Disappointed for the US because I was expecting them to go just a bit faster however they didn’t have the strongest team here so good for them to get the Bronze. I’m excited to see how the Jamaicans will do because it’s been said that Veronica Campbell Brown is aiming to make it to her 6th Olympic team after racing as an 18 year old in the 4x100m in Sydney 2000, and they will also have the likes of Elaine Thompson, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce and the Young Brianna Williams whos coming through. The Brits always put up a good fight with her strong team also and have been very consistent since 2016 so watch out for them.
