I think the new Big 12 will be a more balanced and competitive conference in 2024. Would be surprised if any teams in the new Big 12 finish with less than 3 losses. Basketball will probability be a bloodbath, cant think of a weak team. Baseball and softball, national Champs. Gymnastics same, track dangerous.
Weakest in basketball is probably UCF and TCU, both make up for it in football. UCF might be the biggest brand in a decade. They're certainly the best Florida team in recent times given UF and FSU haven't been good. Miami hasn't been good in a long time now.
I was never a Jake Plummer fan, but I certainly agree with his opinion here. Appreciate his take on the direction of college sports and football in particular. 👍
Irrelevant, except to the degree it allows Big12 schools a platform to build their brand. The media is pairing this down to two. In 2031 when Big12 contract expires, the pruning will continue.
Really? Third best based on what? Your saying the Big 12 is better than the A.C.C? Another Big 12 former. You'll be the 3rd best after the S.E.C. and the Big 10 carve up the A.C.C. But you'll be light years away from them. You'll be closer to the Mountain West than the S.E.C. or the Big 10.
facts clearly big12 is #1 in basketball and just maybe #2/#3 in football. Big12 was in the national championship last year game and Kansas state wasn't to far behind. So #2 seems like the right fit going foward
Older folks make it sound like securing one's financial future isn't the ultimate goal of getting an education... Like finding purpose in school, of course, not just money but purpose in life. If a student has a career ending injury, or some pre existing condition becomes apparent, as a student, you bet your ass I want to have some money put away! Pay them cause this is a dangerous ass sport where most don't go to the next level!
College sports is a professional business. Revenue drives this business, organizationally and individually. No longer about academics. Concern for the student athlete, is secondary to revenue.
Big12 shouldn’t have bought ASU in. There press conf just showcased how arrogant their leadership really is. I feel the Big 12 Shoulda left them behind and took Oregon State.
Come on now this can't be right surely Utah didn't lower themselves enough to play in a truck stop conference And I think the Big 12 should have passed on Arizona State because they like too much drama the Big 12 should have went after Oregon State instead
Utah is better off here with the new playoff anyway they just need to improve basketball a little and they’d fit perfectly, none of it matters anymore really ngl they threw that out when the Big 10 went to Jersey, all the Jersey kids are supposed to come to Ann Arbor natural way of things at least the Holy War is back I wanna see some mad Mormons 💀
I don’t know how ASU and Utah made sense. Neither want to be in the B12, and they'd leave in a heartbeat. UofA needs to plant their basketball team in a great conference, so they'll never leave. B12 should've taken Boise and Memphis over Utah and ASU. ASU is a trash brand.
This guy is as excited as Crow joining the Big12... follow the money... like every football coach that is making 2plus million a year. I wish Brett Y picked up oregan state. They would appreciate this opportunity... ASU doesn't appreciate us. Nor Jake Plumber

I dont agree with his perspective at all but i respect him putting his thoughts out there
The new big 12 is the 3rd best football conference in the nation. Bar none!!!!!
Nice pun

Solid young man with the right focus!
I was dancing on the Big 12's grave a year ago, now I have to say, this is kinda a bad ass conference when you look at it next year.
Strong take 🔥

After hearing that the ASU AD said that they wouldn't travel to WV, I would revoke the invitation to them.

Can’t wait for ASU to bring that elitist attitude over to Morgantown. I promise they won’t feel so special whenever wvu is done with them
