Baseball and football as well for that matter. Come to think of it we may be a powerhouse in baseball as a conference. It's a natural fit. Let's get on with taking turns kicking each others @sses. We don't know what that would look like. My dad played football and baseball for Columbia when the Ivy League rocked. AND he taught at Rice, then Texas Tech. Both learning and sports are vital to me. An aside: Lubbock is 275,000 and a great place to live. All the shade thrown at Lubbock, and other college towns, is really ignorant. Also, our arena, our stadium will be packed when Arizona comes to town... good luck. You'll need it.
As a Buffs fan, I'd say it's too bad that TexAss and OU won't be in the B12. But the original reason that CU and Nebraska left the B12 a dozen years ago was due to TexAss trying to make it 'their' conference. So based on history, the conference is better off without them.

OU generally kept their mouth closed, showed it on the field, and didn't try to bully everyone they could off it. Hey, suggestion for some content going forward since realignment is over... As a long time PAC12 fan, I'm not really all that familiar with a lot of the teams in the BIGXII - I mean, I know who's good and who's not - but a deep dive into each school, their coaches in football/basketball, brief history and previous meetings with the cats and position rankings would fill a solid 12 episodes. Heck, even a travel guide of what to do / stadiums / unique traditions in each city would be awesome. Anyway, just a thought. Excited to also get into some fall camp news.
Honestly, I don't mind USC and UCLA, Oregon and Washington going to Big 10. However, now can the big 10 kick out some schools? The bottom 6 schools just take up share of revenue and offer nothing back (you know the teams)
The Big10 & the SEC are conferences the have a very thin upper crust of great talent covering a foundation of Also Rans. The Big16 has talent from top to the bottom. We will have more teams in the top 25 than the SEC & Big10 combined.
Finally We are in a conference that we can excell in Football 🏈 and get more exposure for our football team Jedd will show the Big 12 that Zona is back Desert Swarm 2.0 with a great high powered NFL offense that three wrs can get about a thousand yards or more a season and a QB can pass for 4000 a season Can't wait to play Texas Tech in Lubbock and play Oklahoma State in Stillwater and play Cincinnati and travel to one of the best stadium in the Orlando area and battle Central Florida And go to Morgantown and take on the Mountaineers Playing every team in football will better than the former PAC 12

Colorado already knows the Big 12. We will be going to Stillwater, Manhattan, Ames, Lawrence, etc. that is why the other Big 12 thought Boulder was a paradise. They will love going to AZ

They have to start caring about athletics before that happens. The problem they have is fans in the Bay Area, do not go to games or watch the games on TV.
Many of those reporters didn’t “get played”…Much worse, they “played along.” They knew what they were reporting wasn’t true….Their reports were merely tools/leverage in negotiations.
My hope is for 4 team pods to ease travel and scheduling. Just a stab in the dark here on Pods: 1) Arizona, Arizona State, BYU and Utah. 2) Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State. 3) Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech. 4) UCF, Cincinnati, Houston and West Virginia. Please only 8 conference games or make all playoff eligible conferences/teams have the same minimum amount of conference games to be eligible. That always pissed me off about the Pac10/12 playing 9 conference games while other major conferences only played 8, we weeded ourselves out like idiots. Edit - Play everyone in your pod, every year for 3 games and fill out the remaining 5 conference games within the 3 remaining pods. Do your best to schedule non conference games like the SEC does, aka schedule the bottom feeders of the eligible FBS teams outside your conference for the minimum FBS requirements. Then fill the rest of your schedule with tune up games.

What the Stanfords and Cals don't understand is that for 90% of students at a university, sports is a BIG reason they choose a university.

Texas Tech and the Arizona schools were in the same conference for 30 years. Tech leads the series with Arizona 26-5.
I studied Border Conf. history, too. Az cfb wasn't very strong during Border Conf.-era (was better in early 1970s WAC & 1982-1994). Great post. 👍👍
