    I haven't ridden the Clews so ill reserve judgement till I do...that being said ive ridden the Burton step ons for a season and absolutely love them! 1. toe side turns are immediate 2. my feet fit perfect in Burton boots(DC also fit great) but always go with what fits your foot. 3. ease of entry getting off the chair lift is awesome, I don't even stop, 1 foot it then just step it in.
    I'm almost 50 and they're a game changer for me. The idea of Clews looks very promising and so does the Nidecker step in binding coming in the fall

      I was also suprised how good boots fits me right out of the box. No Pain, nothing bad happened. Love them

    Very detailled review!
    I got thr Clew binding. Because I finnaly found a boot that fit me and I didnt want to change boots again.
    I rode a few days with them by now. I had to get used to the motion but now I love them and dont want to go back!

    Been on the clews this whole season, saw powder, ice, slush, and groomed runs. They perform well in all conditions and if your an east coast rider with smaller resorts/shorter runs they can really save time throughout the day! Great binding and a much better price point since u don’t need to buy new boots.

    The clew binding seems to have a lot of room for improvement. If it raise the high back and add a strap near the shin, its gonna b better power transmission closer to that of hard boots.

      We did 3 years of development :)

      @@clewsnowboarding I think the clew binding is good enough for park and fun riding. However, I think it is not enough to be applied to serious high-speed carving or racing. Above all, it may not be as natural as hard boots, but I think there are still areas where power transmission can be developed. Usually, I put a derby under the binding and add a third strap to the shin side to supplement it, but this is very cumbersome to repeatedly engage and release the binding every time. A better development of the clew binding is that it is a structure that can fasten three straps only once and put it on and take off the whole thing. It is not a binding that is easy to put on and take off only, but a structure that can be a more advanced binding force transmission. It is hoped that bindings of various concepts will be developed using this.

    You left out the weight comp my dude the clews are a lot heavier than the burton step ons which I feel is also a key factor

    • @forty27
      @forty27 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are the same weight if you measure the weight together with boots. This is because Burton step-on boots are heavier than normal ones.

  • @SaltAndVi

    How does the weight of the CLEW bindings compare to typical or Burton bindings? Also, the red bar you use to step out, is it finicky at all? How hard do you have to pull to get out?

    • @clewsnowboarding
      @clewsnowboarding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John, the CLEW weight is 2300gr. The click out is an interaction of the pull handle and you boot.
      Once you have clicked in and out, you have a feeling for it and then everything works out super easy. :)

    Just ordered two sets of Clew. One for me and one for my wife. I ordered them right away as last week they had a $150 rebate for pre-orders. This week it’s down to $120 which is still a good rebate. The reason I chose Clew instead of Burton is that both my wife and I really like our boots that we have already.
