Hey, I know its kinda dumb to preview right now with the strike going on and everything, but I really wanted to showcase that work is still being done... Most of the hacks im working on will release in febraury - keep that in mind.

Holy moly, this is literally just wooded kingdom in Mario 64. I know that sounds dumb when I say it that way, but literally everything looks like it was taken right from Mario 64, despite never being in it. Good work, keep it up.

Sounds of my childhood
Here's why this is so good: Even though it directly emulates 64 and Odyssey, Kaze knows when to make changes. Like 64 had crappy 2d coins, here they look 3d which is way better. Also instead of straight up making Mario Odyssey with 64 graphics, he actually made the levels with 64 inspired level design as well. This is such a cool project!

I am really looking forward to this game, however, i found two problems which is similar to last impact.
1. The lighting in the level just seems very dark. It would be nicer if it was bright and vibrant like the upcoming super mario sunshine game your making.
2. Its minor but is it possible to change the music when you collect the moon? I literally played the whole of 64 3D land to hear the star theme at the end which was fantastic.
I know in making rom hacks, it is very limiting and thats why i commend you for your awesome work. I enjoyed all of your hacks so far and i know this will be just as good or even ten times better:)
I really want the star music to be changed though :(

It is. I do both. Creating a 3d physics engine and making it function like super mario 64 is fucking hard as hell. Im currently working on one tho. But Im afraid of C&D letter from nintendo so I might just turn it into an original character and change the aesthetics.

These custom levels you make for your Super Mario 64 ROM Hacks are really awesome. After being inspired by how other people make custom levels for their rom hacks make me wanna join along into making my own Super Mario 64 Rom hack someday. I also wonder how do you add in custom music as well?
UPDATE: I also wonder how people replace the Mario model with a custom character model and replacing Mario's voice clips with a custom character's voice clips.
I heard lots of rumors, that the romhack channel in Simpleflips Discord is nice and supportive, might check that out

A suggestion related to the aesthetics, but if you can't add trees to the level, you could make the background a forest to make the level feel more foresty. This still looks great, though.
