Great video, Craig. It's nice to see the high view count on this one, too. Great job dude! -- As for the video, it's like I'm hanging out with you in your hobby room, lol! I love it! Great stuff pal, keep up the excellent work!
Hey Fil, thanks for the support matey! I am so pleased with the numbers on this one and I have had some great comments too!! Nothing better than getting stuck into a Tamiya catalogue is there 😁
Another great walkthrough, Craig! I must admit I was a little mesmerised looking at all the pages and listening to you chat away there, it felt like I was sitting there looking over your shoulder! What a great catalogue to flick through, I just love the Tamiya artwork/photography 😍! Thanks for sharing, matey, have a smashing weekend! 😎👌👍
Cheers Mark! It is a brilliant read and one I keep coming back to every time I am in the studio. Hopefully we all have seen things we like for 2024! All the best matey
That was awesome mate!
I am seriously impressed with how comprehensive, well laid out, and informative that this publication is!
I love the way it's seriously similar in its presentation to the RC Catalogues from back in the day, similar, but evolved as it it were.
The charts on the back are indeed a great reference resource, and also very handy is the paints section /reference guide.
But, the problem with these catalogues is, just like back in the day, they make you spend more money..... 😂
Cheers for the guided tour matey.
👍 👍 👍
Ps Wow!! 4.5 views in 2 days!!!!!
Cheers James, it was a brilliant video and I am loving these catalogues. I have been saved by the parts checker a few times now already!!
Thanks for watching buddy 🙌🏻
Well, you certainly have sold me on the catalog!! I want it ALL!!! Thank you, sir!!!
You are welcome Paul. I want it all too and I want it now 👍🏻
Nice stroll the catalog and I do really like the chart in the back of it as well! Although it does sound like it could get pricey! LOL! "Oh, I'll get a couple of those since they fit on everything" LOL
Addam, that is exactly what has happened to me!!! It is a great asset to keep in the studio when something goes wrong 😁
Hey Craig I really enjoy these. There is such a lot of really useful information in there about the hop ups and everything. You are saying about the poor value of the Squash Van but that's the one I really want. Just Tamiya through and through and I know it will be fun. Great walkthru by your good self mate. Glad to see this vid doing well 👍👍
Hey Pete, thanks matey! Glad you enjoyed my musings. I think the Squash Van looks cool but just seems expensive (but then what doesn’t!!!) I think those that have them love them as they are classic Tamiya fun!!
Great walk through....straight to the point 👍 I had a Wild Willy back in the 80s and really wish they would rerelease the 4X4 Toyota Hilux from back then...the advert is on You Tube and I still remember watching it in the shop in Sheffield and wanting one but it was very expensive for a kid back then 😀 👍
Those advert reels in the hobby stores were amazing!! Lots of the kits were expensive (some still do!!) but they were amazing to dream about! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
I like tamiya rc car very much.
Me too Joseph! Tamiya rocks 🙌🏻
Still got my Tamiya pajero shogun/pajero tintop and a brand new body I’d never sell it stood the test of time well since 90s
Isn’t it great when things just stand the test of time! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Nice flip through Craig, so much goodness within those pages!👍😊
Hey Jeremy, it is full of Tamiya goodness for sure dude! 2024 is a good year but I want that Astute Rere back again and the Dyna Storm 🔥
hell yeah ❤
Yeah dude! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Great stuff thanks for sharing Craig!
You are welcome James. These catalogs cost me a fortune!
@theoagrc lol yeah better you then me!😉👍
Great video mate 👍 love a Tamiya catalogue i must get that one 😊
I agree Mark. This one is amazing and worth picking up 👍🏻
nice job mate . some great stuff in there . manta ray 👍
Manta Ray is happening dude. Some of those new body shells are awesome!
The clod is deffo on my radar this time, and the kadett, and the manta ray and the top force. I best get some overtime in 😂
Get working Richard!! I have a Manta Ray on order as I love that chassis. Would love a Clod but might have to wait and see. Some of those body shells are 🔥
Nice Catalog . thanks for sharing it
Cheers Joe 🙌🏻
Sadly, it is not available in the US.@@theoagrc
@JoevsRc Nor in the UK yet but I have my sources 😉
Great presentation Craig.
Many thanks Dirk. I think it is a German produced catalog 🙌🏻
@@theoagrc there you can bet on. The European Tamiya (Dickie, Carson) headquaters're in Nürnberg (Nurenberg). If I got it right it's more kind of an office building, otherwise I would have visit it sooner. Maybe I'll get to Revell this fall, when they do the store sale (and only around 40 miles from here).
Good video!
Thanks pal 🙌🏻
Wow, that is their current product range ? To be honest i have not followed Tamiya since the 1990s, I remember Sand Scorcher of course.
Hey there 👋🏻 This is a selection of the 2024 line up but there are few extras out there. Tamiya is a mainstay for some of us but a gateway into a bigger world of fun!! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Very cool catalog.
Thanks for watching! It is a cool thing to have 🙌🏻
I need some shock towers for my DT-01 chassis. I’ve been looking for years and never found any. I wouldn’t mind if they are hop-ups or standard. I just want to fix my car. I’m very surprised they have parts for the DT-01 in your catalog.
Thanks for watching. I think a few things are just out of stock. Worth checking with your local stockist or TTP
Thanks for the video. Any ideas how to get in or posted to Australia,
Hi Wayne, I suggest you try the link in the description or find a friendly European retailer who will post to you. Mostly they can be found in Germany at the moment but they will be in the UK later this spring
Is the Tamiya Radio Control Guide book still existing? So nostalgic of this one.Ty😉
Hey 👋🏻 Tamiya don’t do them anymore. This is as close as we get these days 😄
So pitty! I had those from the eighties...,😣Ty for the video presentation😃@@theoagrc
@doutrelepontluc7181 you are welcome! If you hunt about the internet you can find a few. Perhaps I should do some vintage walk through??
yes good idea for a vintage trip! I know I can find some archive on the internet, but seeing catalogs I owned in the past make me so nostalgic,I was a dreaming kid! Thank you again
First!
🥇
@theoagrc I didn't know you had the Baja Champ video running at the same time. Watching that now.
Am I right in thinking that the TD2 and TD4 don't even get a mention?
You are correct. All the spares were tucked away with the BB01 hop ups which I thought was odd…. Get them while you can dude 🙌🏻
Hi mate does it have a item number ? Cant seem to find one online anywhere.
Article number: 500992024
Try searching on the German Tamiya site.
Thanks for watching
Where can I purchase one of these catalogs? I've looked everywhere. I'm in the US.
I have popped a link in the description for you pal 🙌🏻
@@theoagrcI went to the link. It's not the catalog you have.
@catscan64 try again pal. Sorry
I have a og vintage Vanquish laying around. Does anybody know a place where I can find some vintage lovers?
Hey 👋🏻 get yourself over to Tamiyaclub Forums and chat to some vintage RC fans there. There are quite a few guys here on TH-cam into their vintage RCs too. It depends where you are based 👍🏻
@@theoagrc Thanks
Hi OAG how do I purchase one of these catalogues here in Derbyshire ?
Hi Nick, I have added a link to Tamiya’s website with the catalog in there. You will see them in model shops in the coming weeks. 👍🏻
@@theoagrc cheers OAG from a fellow gamer too since 1983 on dragon 32 then zx spectrum ,how did we get here 😃
@nickpink25 The continued quest for fun and laughter pal 😉 Keeps us all young 👍🏻
Where can I get a catalog? UK...
Hey there, I have added a pre order link at SC Models to my video description for you. Thanks for the sub dude 🙌🏻
No Blackfoot?
There were quite a few missing Alan. I wonder if Tamiya Europe knocked a few out for space? Thanks for watching 👍🏻
been doing RC since 1991 and have managed to avoid owning or driving any sort of grass hopper or hornet with no regrets what so ever
For many of us this is where it all started. We spent hours blasting the Grasshopper about wishing it was something better and then a Kyosho Raider showed us something new!! Now I have enjoyed modern and vintage RCs there is still a charm of the Grasshopper ripping about a dusty track that takes me back to the 80s. Nostalgia hits hard!
@@theoagrc yes i agree, i fill the same way about my 1st RC car the tamiya Thunder dragon and there isn't much love for it out there but i dont care, i still like it because it was my 1st car, the same with the grass hopper/hornet for the people that started with those cars, take away the nostalgia and its a terrible thing in my eyes, dont get me wrong the car was a good cheep way of getting people into the hobby but other than that i really dont see the appeal
@harlyquin Thunder Dragon was last years Orchard Raceway champ dude! Will always be a legend at the OAG for that reason!! Will it defend its title next year??
@@theoagrc i have no idea about any of that but in saying that i hope it wins, lol
Whats with constant hovering with the hands above the pictures? Its obscuring the sight.
Stopping every page for a few seconds without the hands above pictures could help to identify particularly the hop-ups.
Just saying!
I do this to provide an overview of the content not the content 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
@@theoagrc 🤦♂️
No way, he should be a hand model. Don't you watch Seinfeld?
@user-jy1sd6gm2e thanks dude 🙌🏻
Iam not a tamiya fan by far, the plastic quality is somthing that china wouldn't touch, and they still use bushings instead of bearings and still use the old silver can brushed motors and plastic geared servos, plastic diffs and cheap plastic driveshafts and yet they charge premium prices then expect to spend the same amount again in upgrades to get a half decent vehicle,
But yet we all have fun with them! 😉
@@theoagrc yeah that's all that matters
