Most of all the gases that are normally in the soda has came out and escaped through the opening since cans are not completely sealed. That would have caused it to lose quit a bit of it's mass as well as cause the syrup and sugar to thicken and give it a strange taste.
perhaps the coke did escape like the pepsi and the empty space was just replaced by sea water? that could explain why it tastes like the sea, and why there is stuff growing in it.

Most of all the gases that are normally in the soda has came out and escaped through the opening since cans are not completely sealed. That would have caused it to lose quit a bit of it's mass as well as cause the syrup and sugar to thicken and give it a strange taste.
Haven’t seen a glass lucozade bottle for years! I definitely remember getting a bottle of lucozade if I was sick off school.
perhaps the coke did escape like the pepsi and the empty space was just replaced by sea water? that could explain why it tastes like the sea, and why there is stuff growing in it.
This is exactly what I was thinking as they were weighing it. I had the same horrified feeling as watching characters in a film who are unaware of the obvious terrible thing that's about to happen to them.
