Not only your videos are beautiful, and provided with detailed information of the painting process. They are very very calm and relaxing for me, thank you Mat! Keep them coming!
Thank you for this lovely video 💚 I had the same experience with digital art. I enjoyed it at first, but could not compete with the magic of traditional materials. Same opinion as well regarding the use of pencils compared to ink for the lines. Graphite and colored pencils are more flexible and easier on the eyes.
Man Mateusz, I’ve always loved your traditional pieces mostly because you play so much with colour and technique. This one is no exception, it’s really beautiful
I just want to share that I watch both your watercolor and digital art to learn painting in digital. Even if you ever feel that your work is losing life, it still means a lot for someone out there. Love ya. ❤
Beautiful work . I love watching the process and your constant experimentation with styles, technique and materials. Really inspiring videos. Thanks for sharing 😊
I didn't realize how much i was missing your watercolor videos. Can we go back to the "one 15 mins video per month" golden era? The painting is looking 👍👌😎
So beautiful! I really like the colors and the use of colored pencils here, they help to give a 'soft' feel to the piece! Might test these techniques later too, thanks Mateusz!
Gorgeous! What a wonderful experiment. Your thoughts on what worked well and what didn't at each step are so enlightening. Of course, nothing beats hands-on experimentation but it's still a great way to learn from you. :)
Really love how colorful this turned out tho, doing the line art with coloring pencils creates a very lively effect! I love it! I completely understand what you mean however I must admit that even tho I also feel more inspired when using traditional methods and paper, I feel more tired after painting those than painting with digital methods, but as you said, it varies from person to person!
Yes, actually that could be interesting. I just have to find a good BG to show this with - I mostly make my art not caring so much about how it works on the inside so I'm not adhering to most of the "industry" rules ;)
Currently no, but who knows. I would like to go back someday to see and explore some of the places I was not able to visit when I was there. Maybe I would get inspired enough to paint something. 👍
May i ask? What's the function of the grids on the final sketch? Btw, I've wait for long for this drawing to be posted on youtube. It's really beautiful
Hello, Mateusz-san, I hope you are doing well! Thank you for sharing your process video with us, it's very inspiring and I'm learning a lot from watching you work! I think it's very interesting you paint from front to back with the gouache, I would have thought that since it has a more opaque quality, it would cover the pencil marks and watercolours. Have you tried using Prismacolour pencils before? They are also quite soft and oil-based, but they are "oiler" than polychromos, if you get my meaning. Would love to hear your thoughts on them. Ah, and lastly, I have a question about overall colour scheme? How do you plan for that? Do you do little thumbnails or just go with the flow? Thank you for reading, and I wish you a very good day ahead! Take care!
In this piece I just "went with the flow" but if I want to do something more accurate or I'm aiming for a specific mood I would test-color the sketch using Procreate. Just take a photo of the sketch with the iPad and quickly rough-color it.

I like the mix of media. Variety is the spice of life!
“positive little accidents”, I see what you did there, matto-san 😄
It looks amazing! I love how you used each medium.

The coloured pencils make it look very vibrant and soft! I love it
I love that you used color pencils. And it is really nice to hear that you are so into traditional drawing/painting. It turned out beautiful!
color pencil outlines really create much softer painting than ink. Looks great and Ill try this method too.

This is looking insanely good. I am totally in love with your style! Looking forward to your next piece.
Did you work on “your name” ? Your digital style definitely fits so it wouldnt actually surprise me. Very talented
Yes, I was one of the main backgrounds painters.

Could you make a video about how to paint an Anime style background? Not just the style but also some technical things behind it?
Yes, actually that could be interesting. I just have to find a good BG to show this with - I mostly make my art not caring so much about how it works on the inside so I'm not adhering to most of the "industry" rules ;)
ur inspiring
That tree is too beautiful! By the way, do you have any plan on painting Polish landscape? :)
Currently no, but who knows. I would like to go back someday to see and explore some of the places I was not able to visit when I was there. Maybe I would get inspired enough to paint something. 👍

I look at the small sketch while drawing the bigger more detailed one. The grid helps to get the proportions right.
@@mattjabbar thanks for replying! I'm gonna use that method on my upcoming project.
