- Woo-hoo! Because I'm a hopeless fan-girl...
This vid actually took me a very long time to put together. I had to play thru 3 separate times: LS & DS female, as well as LS male. Then afterword, I suddenly decided I didn't want a particular mod in it - a re-skin for the Ebon Hawk, and as you'll notice, the inside & outside of the Ebon Hawk is in nearly every scene, so I basically had to do it all over again.
But I had a lot of fun making this, I'd been thinking about doing it since I first considered making fan vids for TH-cam. Enjoy!

well the designers did make him to resemble solo right down to the jacket and stripy trousers, I mean they already had the Ebon Falcon I mean Ebon Hawk in K1 may as well go all the way :D
That was kind of the point. The devs wanted you to assume Atton was just a standard Han Solo ripoff so that the revelation that he was actually this psychotic Jedi killer was much more shocking.
LegendofLegaia929 I actually never stumbled on that revelation. I had it spoiled by others telling me about it. In fact, I didn't even know you could make your crew into Jedis until my third playthrough.

It's easy to imagine why you'd miss that on an initial playthrough.
While the game does inform the player about influence, it's never made out to be this crucial thing that you should 100% try to get with all of the party members and you don't realize that it can do anything besides give you access to your companion's backstories until you train your first Jedi.
You've also got the fact that some companions don't have a lot of opportunities to influence them and to train Atton, you have to randomly have him in your party while exploring Nar Shaddaa, so if he's one of your numerous bench warmers, it's pretty much impossible to train him to be a Jedi without some sort of guide.
I've always loved Atton's typing on thin air when sitting in the pilot's seat

Bao-Dur doesn't get a lot of good shots in verbally, but when he does it's freaking amazing.
I wonder if Atton and Bao-Dur knew eachother during the Mandalorian Wars, in the Sith Tomb, Bao-Dur is extremely protective of Atton, and the two have the repoir in their few scenes together

I am starting to see why Lucas wanted to remove this from canon. "Are you an angel? Aw, I'm just kidding. That's the worst line I've ever used. Hope some poor kid doesn't start using it." Yeah, Lucas is that arrogant.
Hell, why not remove the Phantom Menace from canon? We all know how epic (not) that movie was. Oh, then we wouldn't have Darth Maul. God forbid.
People like Darth Maul for the same reason why people like Boba Fett.
Although to Maul's credit at least he wasn't taken out by a blind Han Solo.

The Atton romance was such a freaking tease - I seriously hate Obsidian for this!
It's not really their fault, lucas arts forced them to cut alot of content just so the game could be release game before Christmas
The handmaiden romance for male exiles is a tease to
the depth in character in kotor 2 is superior to kotor 1 due all the characters hidden secrets and back stories, atton i feel was the best example of this. if the game were given time to be completed i reckon it may have been regarded as better than the first
With the restored content mod I reckon Kotor 2 > Kotor 1 but without the mod I feel Kotor 1 > Kotor 2
i much prefer the darker tone in kotor 2, and the characters are better. but seeing as 2 is unfinished and kotor 1 has the cool revan twist, i suppose the first is better

It IS better than the first. No debate. KOTOR is full of surface-level ideas, tolerable dialogue, and mediocre characters. More often, the party members annoyed me, than intrigued, or entertained me. Carth being a whiny bitch 24/7 is a good example of that.
KOTOR II's characters are the best I've ever seen in any game I've played.
when i played a male Exile, the one thing i found very useful from Atton was him teaching the Exile "how to play pazaak in the head.." This sort of thing wasn't a Jedi thing, nor did it take any special training to do. It was his own simple technique. You just counted things or thought of things to distract the mind. After being a former student of the Sith, he learned how to play cards in his head counting the total figures, counted star systems in his head, tried to figure out problems with a ship's engines, and anything else similar....all this was done simply to prevent a Force user from dominating one's mind during combat. It explains why Kreia referred Atton as a "fool" on many conversations....because she could not read his inner thoughts, fears,etc...all Kreia could do was read counting from Atton's mind, his surface thoughts. It frustrated her.
which led me to have better duels when confronting Darth Scion and Darth Trayus on Malachor V. On my first try against these two, i noticed i couldn't breach their will, saves and was getting choked easily. Mind you, i played as a LS to see how i could fair fighting in that alignment with defensive powers against the Sith Lords' full offensive arsenal.
and then i went back to the saved part just prior to going to back to Dantooine to meet the remaining Jedi Counsel after Onderon is saved. Aboard the Hawk, he teaches this as you talk to him in the cockpit. It increases your own will and saves, iirc and fortifies your character from being breached so easily and instead destroys your opponents' saves and will.
I thought that kreia was able to read atton when they were at the academy with atris and the handmaidens. It took a longer time then she thought because of the training atton did but eventually found out what he had done in his past and then he colapses in the cell. He is considered a fool because of his wise cracks and antics are generally round about and silly. Kreia is more of a manipulator and gets things done immediately. Much like a leader of the sith and also she cannot manipulate atton as easy as other people perhaps is why she considers him a fool or maybe that he turnt from away from what he had done chasing off some new way of living and such to play the fool and turn a blind eye to his past instead of embracing it.
"Shutta" and "Why don't you got sit on a rocket?" makes me crack up every time.
We can all thank Atton for the birth of the empire in Episode 3 lol

Very different character. Carth is not as likable as Atton but still very interesting. Carth is more a sad one, a tragic one.

It specially frustrates me how even if you make his own son stop hating on him, Carth still will be against you if you go towards the dark side.

I like Carth. He is actually a VERY well constructed character and is basically a complete deconstruction of typical BioWare characters who are usually head over heels for the player the moment they meet them. He is like a breath of fresh air. For the first part of the game, he lets you know right off the bat that he doesn't trust you and he is only working with you because you are the only "ally" he has at the moment. The mission comes first. It's sad that BioWare steered away from this type of character after KOTOR.
Oh good lord, I've just imagined that, Kotor in Mass Effect technology... with Dragon Age companion interaction... I've just melted *.*

@@numberl6 how doesn't obsidian not like star wars? they read tons of the expanded universe to create KOTOR 2 and ended up creating one of the best stories and games in star wars.

I think they liked Star Wars. Some people show love for a series or franchise by satirizing and deconstructing the hell out of it. You know, going into depth on its ideas and pondering them enough to create a whole new story based on that take on them. Of course, people also do that with things they dislike. It's tricky, but I still feel like it came from a place of love and respect here.

I LOVED this game and Atton Rand was a great comic relief element. This along with many other characters in KOTOR 2 made it one of the richest games I played.

One of my favorites for sure was when he was talking about T3-M4 joyriding through the galaxy. It produced such a funny picture in my head.
Picture this, the Ebon Hawk spiraling out of the docking bay at a high rate of speed, narrowly missing two patrol cruisers and purposely smashing into a satellite dish on top of a house.
The patrols begin to give chase and the camera switches to inside the cockpit to find T3 making a sound similar to R2D2 when he gets shot. You know, that "WHOOOOOOO!".
hahahahaah the ending made my laugh my butt off! xD wait...that was the whole video that made me do that. Oh Atton...where would the world be without you and your hot face and hilarious jokes?
