    www.revzilla.co...
In this comprehensive video, we break down the many backpack offerings from Alpinestars. This wide range covers everything from smaller capacity more price conscious options like the Hub Backpack to the super technical Protection Pack Backpack. Alpinestars backpacks are all water resistant and there in one waterproof pack in the bunch, the Alpinestars Slipstream that is fully seam sealed for 100% waterproofness. For those looking for maximum capacity, look to the Alpinestars Deploy Backpack with a full 30L of storage space. The Tech Aero backpack is a staff favorite that works great for moto or for everyday use. Most bags also have pockets for laptops and organization pockets for stashing your essentials.

If you are carrying heavy items, like school books, I would definitely say go for the Kriega R25. The way the straps interface with with your body it takes the weight off your shoulders and transfers it to your chest. It's much more comfortable. There is no helmet carrier, but there are plenty of straps you could loop through the chin bar for carrying. ~Ali

The Deploy has the largest capacity of all the Astars backpacks and could easily accommodate your books and Gi. Another option is the Kriega R30 that does a great job redistributing weight off your shoulders, if you frequently carry heavy books. ~Ali

It's a combination of brand and build quality. I personally use a Kriega backpack, but Anthony had the Astars Tech Aero for nearly 5 years and used it on a daily basis. I can say the Tech Aero is very durable and will likely outlast the MotoCentric. If you only carry a backpack on occasion and need the extra storage, the MotoCentric is the better choice, otherwise the Tech Aero is hard to beat. ~Ali

Hey Anthony thanks for doing this breakdown. You saying that the Tech Aero was your personal bag gave me the push needed to buy it. I love that the strap clips apart so you can get it on over your armor. The velcro pocket on the front is a great place to keep my ez-pass. Keep up the good work.

The Kriega backpacks are incredibly durable and *most* helmets are under the 4 pound mark, so I think you won't run into any trouble. ~Ali

scratch the last question about the helmet wear and tearing, I just realized that I can easily loop through the top grip because it is heavy duty and designed to carry the whole bag and should have no problem with the helmet looped through while on my back. (At least I hope so)

I don't think the Astars Protection backpack is large enough to fit a full face helmet inside the main pocket. There is a designated, retractable helmet pocket for use off the bike. ~Ali

For under 100 you can get a military grade pack pack they usually have 3 pockets on the outside one large and 2 small and then on the inside they have a computer pocket and usually 3 holes on the top for things like earbuds antennas or Camelback tubes thus also hsuly come with great passing on the back and on the part that attaches to your waste

i have crashed in the deploy going back from work. i had a massive u shaped metal lock inside the backpack. i was thrown off the bike and rolled on the road. there wasnt one bruise on my back. the backpack itself had a little hole in the back. looking for a new one because the main zip has broken. recommended

I love the Deploy due to its capacity.. I take it to weekend getaways. Its the Shitt.. but i also like the tech aero.. I'm thinking about purchasing this one for my every day commuter. I would love to see a comparison between the Astar line versus Ogio

I never thought of looping it through! Thank you Ali for being so helpful with all of my questions on here. Not sure if you have noticed but I have asked a lot haha. But in regard to the Kriega, you don't think that the 5 pounds of weight on the straps for an extended amount of time will wear tear the backpack?

  • @natedagreat850
    @natedagreat850 11 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah I took a look at the Kriega as well as the Ogio no drag series amoung MANY others, but those 4 were the main stand outs. In your opinion, (not restricted to these 4) what would be the best pack for school books, a helmet carrier, and ideally a laptop compartment(but not necessary). I also saw the Icon Squad II and read that it does not hold up long and that thing is more military base oriented rather than a school setting, so I don't want something like that either. Sorry for pickiness haha

So I was planning on getting the tech aero, but then I saw the MotoCentric Cetrek Backpack, and I was wondering, what exactly is the key differences between the two backpacks that creates a $90 gap. Because all that I have come up with is 1) The brand 2) water resistance and 3) back protector insert. Is that all?

I've been searching for a decent size pack to replace my old High Sierra, which has strap pockets. There's absolutely nothing these days with usable strap pockets. No Idea why they stopped making them with strap pockets. It's really annoying.

Generally we recommend Kriega if you are looking for a top-quality backpack or soft luggage solution. Take a look at the R15 backpack. It is slightly larger than a hydration backpack, but is roomier for a change of clothes and your bare essentials. -TeamZilla

Textbooks are heavy, so you probaly should have something more durable than a normal Jansport. I'd recommend the Alpinestars Roving. For even more durability, look at the Kriega R20 and R25. -DrewZilla

which would be best for a college student living in the pacific northwest? I will be riding in the rain, carrying a laptop, with heavy college books. I don't really need the helmet compartment, just something that will keep my papers, books, and laptop dry with enough space for everything. Any brand is cool by me.

I'd rather buy a cheap Jansport backpack, higher quality material, more practical, lasts forever. 47 yo company that specializes in backpacks. Why waste money on gimmicks that have fancy pockets you'll never use.

Have you ever crashed in a Jansport backpack? The extra abrasion resistance on these moto-specific rucksacks is no joke! -CK
