The very last interview and public appearance of Pierre Boulez. Pierre Boulez talks about the aftermaths of the WW2 in particualr in Germany where he went early after 45 and witnessed the reconstruction, and then took part of the "Darmstadt School" toghether with Stockhausen, Nono, Berio, etc. This is the very last public appearance of Pierre Boulez short beofre he died on Januar 5th, 2016. A very important testimony of a brilliant man, even if he was diminished. One should never forget that we are all human beings. Pierre Boulez was willingly taking this interview, and apart of the fact that he was almost 91and not the fiercy strong Boulez that we knew, he agreed to deliver this last message to the world. It is just following his will that we put this video online, as it has been bannished by people who trust they are the guardians of the Temple. Boulez belongs to the world. His words, his music.

I first met Pierre in 1963 at Harvard when I was 21 and he was 38. We looked very different then.

And who are these people or groups? Are there any names so that I can get an idea? After decades of opposition to Boulez and his work, should there really be people who wanted to prevent a recorded interview? Somehow hard to imagine.
Pierre Boulez was always a very cultivated and well-groomed man. At a very advanced age, did he no longer have the strength to shave and arrange his hair? Or no support?
