    Hello TH-cam. This is a commentary on the LG V40 cameras which is about as long, or longer, than many camera sections in other full phone reviews. If you're only instinct is to complain about the full in-depth review being locked on Patreon, then I will mute you on this channel. No warnings. TH-cam as a platform continues to put the screws to smaller channels like mine, demonetizing videos randomly, not notifying subscribers, and ad rates have plummeted over the last year. A video like this took days to shoot. It took additional days to organize and analyze. It took an entire day to edit, and render and upload on a PC capable of producing 4K video.
    I'm not here for imaginary internet points. If my time for that work isn't partly compensated for, then there's no point in producing these videos. If this work can't contribute to buying food and paying rent, then I won't make them.
    If everyone currently complaining about a $1 a month Patreon charge (which would get you access to months worth of content) instead were actively supporting this channel, sharing, posting to Reddit, participating, I probably wouldn't need something like Patreon. This current flavor of TH-cam however, smaller creators like me can't get by on passive views alone. I'm still investigating other ways to make this economically feasible, but for now, Patreon offers the best tools for delivering content, AT THE CHEAPEST PRICE I can charge viewers. If you have other suggestions, please send them along. We can have real conversations, but if you're just going to whine and moan, then you will be invisible on this channel.

      $1 per month
      One-a-dollar per month for content that can be 30 minutes long each.
      Let that sink in a bit. I know it’s not ideal but I’m really just crossing my fingers that he can be able to grow and maybe rely less on Patreon for funding if it does take off. Unless you’re big, TH-cam doesn’t treat smaller channels well. Which sucks because many of those said smaller channels have great content

    Hi Juan & thanks for another detailed summary video. Seeing that you mention the camera's main sensor & being that I'm seriously thinking about buying a G7 now that the price has dropped, I'd like to ask a couple of questions for which I believe you might be able to give me some insight.
    1) How does the V40's main sensor compare to the G7's? It's bigger size combined with the less megapickles (= larger pickles) make it appear so..
    2) Can you confirm that the G7 uses Sony's Sony IMX351? If that's the case, the 1/3.09" size combined with the 16M resolution would result in 1.0 μm pixels which is kind of a bummer since the G4 I'm looking to replace has a IMX234 sensor that is actually bigger (1/2.6").
    I know that this is not what most people are looking for in a camera phone, but since I don't intent to shoot anything other than RAW going straight to Lightroom I'm mostly interested in sensor/optics (hardware) performance rather that software improvements. Oh and that Quad DAC...
    Thanks for your time reading this & pardon the slight videojacking (is this even a thing?)
    EDIT: I just read the pinned post, I might just take all this to Patreon instead. Absolutely getting your point, no need to reply. All the best & keep up the good (and pretty unique) work

      There only reason ANY videos like this exist is because of the people contributing directly to making them happen. Id like to find other avenues for compensation my time, but so far patreon is the easiest and cheapest for subscribers to join AND cancel. All I can add, is this is the literal cheapest way I can set up a paywall. $1 unlocks EVERY camera and audio review I've made over the last six months, and then you can cancel when you're caught up. You could stagger that every SIX months if you wanted. Even using TH-cam would force me to charge $5 to put up that paywall.

      @AbrahamArthemius 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not that Juan "hate" it, HDR does have its benefits but it can get a bit too much. LG just make their image processing more traditional in how they handle a photo. Not all photo need to have extreme dynamic range and more often than not contrasty image will actually look better than photo with HDR.
      Long story short, HDR isn't the end all be all type of image processing.
