I was at Bethel the weekend they recorded Jake Hamilton's "Marked by Heaven" album(still in my top 5), and I was extremely impressed with the in-room mix. The sound was great, but what was even better was the palpable presence of the Holy Spirit.
This was a very good lesson and thank you guys for sharing it. Just one little thing, the microphone was doing some noises that sounded like running water on a drain 😬
What if you’re already trying your best In a team have mediocre gear but your team doesn’t try their best and don’t support one vision? Also what an amazing lesson
I bought for my church rode NTG4+ - it's much cheepper than high end microphones and for me it is really great. I love in them that they not have that airy noise in them like in other microphones in that class and that gives you option to put a fader higher and not to take noisy sound in transmission.

Luke's approach has basically turned Bethel into a huge recording studio live room. And it makes sense for him, after hearing his history.

Soundblaster Soundcard, lol. I had one in 2005
He mentioned shotgun mics to capture room audio (35mins) but didn't give any specifics of which ones to consider. Any recommendations?
They use high end Senheisers I believe. Our church uses The Rode NTG3 better price, and gets the job done just as well.
They use Sennheiser MKH 416

We affectionately refer to the Micro Synth as the "Bethel Button"
