Just picked up the game, played the tutorial missions, did my first "real" patrol, and got absolutely destroyed by a single British corvette. Found your channel, and this video + your guide on torpedo attacks have been eye-opening! Will kick it up to hardcore simulation and start calculating some torpedo solutions!
@@crazedjester Update, I just sunk the Royal Oak at Scapa Flow AND the escort carrier moored beside her, hid for a bit, and got away scot free, first try, all in my type II canoe! Credit to you and the other Uboat creators who make this game *way* more approachable than it could have been! Couldn't have done it without you!
You kill frigate first, then miss all big cargo ships, and fail to kill 6000 ton cargo ships with 20 mm AA gun. Then evade 1/3 of British navy which is pissed off because you did that stuff 15 - 20 nm away from large naval port.
Small fun fact: U-995 is the last remaining Typ VII submarine. You can visit her today in Germany in the town of Laboe, wich is actually located near Kiel!
@@crazedjester I actually already did visit her multible times, do to me having the privelege of living around an hour away from her, so from time to time I pay U-995 a visit!
@@crazedjester I'm enjoying it my super deckgun works.. 400 rounds the 8.8 I take out a whole convoy lol.... the new sub pen looks nice...... I been to New York harbor there is new York..docks with ships.... if you go there the statue of liberty has underwater mines so just giving heads up if you head there doing a Rouge mission and there's no security boat to shoot at you... open season and plenty reward points. Lol
I've encountered that same lost U-Boat at least four times. They really need to add some more variety to random events. [You can sink it with dynamite. 88 rounds are too valuable.]
Who remembers the Medal of Honor Allied Assault mission where you have to plant charges in a u-boat dock. It starts off at exactly the same view as the start of this video.
150 hours into the game on and off since it's been available on steam and im over here like: Shift? Have also been doing to clik and drag or just go slow lol. thanks and great video!
when you use the hydrophone you should drop down a lot more than periscope depth, the futher you are from the ocean surface the clearer the sounds are and the further you can detect, i really enjoyed this opener to a series and hope ot see more
Red is not for attack, it's for night only. It only gives you benefits during night. Blue is always the goto as it saves oxygen and quiets the crew down.
You can also turn off the gyro thingy and the electric stearing and do manual supervised and idk why they are reloading torpedo under blue light. That should be stfu mode, or maby that was moved to silent running, unless that button dont exist? XD Id close all the doors to if there is any just in case.
If you press H whilst on the surface your ship will automatically drop to 50 meters to conduct a hydrophone check and then refill compressed air on its own
Playing games you expect to start at the bottom of the tech tree and progress to more sophisticated tech but for this game should you start with Type 7 and only play Type 2 campaign once you have some experience as a player? (1944 enemies are tougher but you can start the war with Type 7)
I was wondering in this game if the EBoats where included. I got my answer early on in the video, but I still wonder if they are available to the player? Germany wanted to build a hundred of them, but at that stage of the war, it was imposable. Still, I wonder how much of a game changer it would have been, even if they had half that many.
Are you talking about surfaced or when submerged? Also making sure weather is not a factor? I assign extra crew to my captain when he is on the observation deck and that gives a big boost. Same with hydrophone when submerged
New viewer here! Really liked the video. Have you tried calculating the torpedo solitions with the TDC yet? (Those buttons on the left when you use the attack periscope/UZO) In these last updates the developers added 2 TDCs (one for the earlier uboat variants and the second one for the later variants which you should have) I think they add a ton more realism to the game. What do you think?
Is this game worth it was thinking about picking it up Becuase I love historical games but the steam reviews kinda threw me off from what o was seeing on TH-cam I really love the content on TH-cam but I want to make sure that this is indeed the game for me!
@@crazedjester well, we haven't been killed yet but it has been close a few times. I'm only up to The Norwegian Campaign and the convoys have gotten insanely large!

That is awesome Sara! Let me know how your future games go!
Good hunting
you might be happy to know lone corvettes can be taken down using the deck gun.
a bit risky but works in a pinch.

@@crazedjesterI enjoy your vids of uboat. Thanks fellow uboating brother
Glad you’re back was kind of missing you. Love your novelist style, can’t wait to see all the series for this campaign.

I agree. Different circumstances on what happened, or even surprise events would be great. Always plays out the same old way
In 1944? Nah. If it was 39,40 or 41 maybe, then yes.
Even in the happy times, uboats rarely if ever expended all their deck gun ammo

Awesome video. Love the way you present the gameplay. Looking forward to the next one.
Good one Jester, now I want MORE!!!!
Thank you Arthur!
Liked it, you can only play what is given. Liked your play, plans and commentary

Blue is bad for eyes.
Welcome back crazed jester, I bet you are happy to see the full release of the game
It's great that it has finally released!
Looking forward to seeing a UBOAT series starting in the later years!
I like to show both the depth and Speed controls on my screen. To do so drop one down then drag it to the side. Repeat with any of the other controls.
Yo, i never even knew about the shift key, thank you!
A hint.... When you measure the Angle on Bow, the "protractor" shows the Distance from sub to target so you don't need to re-measure the distance.
I just freaking love this game!!!
Same!
Nice start so far
excellent.cheers fella.

I have not tried to do it manually. Not too familiar with doing that, so I have my first officer do it for me. I am learning though.

Do I see right???? You have schnorchel devise on that sub.....🤔
I do believe so
In this game you can get a snorkel very early (1941ish) and it works ridiculously well even in rough seas or at high speeds.
I would have send a fish at the DD..
Good solid plan there as well!

Why can't I play on my i7 7700 3,6GHz, gtx1060 6GB, 16GB RAM? Game can freeze evry 5 second :(
