Beautiful to see people engaging in a friendly cooperative exchange of ideas where they are trying to build upon each others ideas for an overall better understanding. Wonderful discourse. This makes a great change from the shouting, negative, hostile conversations we see so often nowadays. Thank you for sharing this clip.

He is ..I think too ..not only that but he is as it's written the son of man over there or he's the antichrist ..we should all and he hope he is or the gates of hell will bust wide open when he dies alternatively that's the only way he goes to heaven ..to be the antichrist
I love that he approaches the scripture but not his approach to the scripture ..yet I'm ready for a one world religion and we pray for the day ..so if he has the spirit of Elijah give him his way and watch if the father's turn to the children that they would then return their hearts to the father's .this is the generation that will come who won't fall in line first

These conversations are an incredible illustration of how complex the Bible is. Many people have a cursory or face value understanding of it, which is perfectly fine, but when you take a deep dive into the scriptures, you will find the absolute beauty and an understanding of things that you were never aware of. This most important thing you can ever understand is the incredible amount of knowledge that you do not have, not just for the Bible, but for anything in the world.

I believe that a central repeated message throughout the old and new testaments rely upon human attitudes and outlook. How many times in scripture do we read, ‘Fear not. Trust in Me. Have faith in My love for you. You are My creation, My children. All will be well under Me in the end.’? Our belief, faith, hope, and reverence are shaped over the course of time throughout what we endure in our lives that are given to us by God. The end result of that manifestation is the story of our individual relationship with Him. WE determine far more of that relationship than maybe we realize. God wants us to hold fast to His message for each of us throughout every storm we encounter on the sea of life. Transforming coal into diamonds requires pressure and heat in prescribed measure.

This is so true. People get so mad at us suffering they forget that God gave us the great gift of life. Why would you not want that. People think "why do we suffer"? "Why did God not just have us not fall from Eden"? I tell them "l don't know, but God has given me a great gift and a great guide for the gift, life and the Bible" I am not going to complain and whine to God like a spoiled child wanting everything to be perfect. If it were perfect then we would be in heaven. A person can ask why did God have us fall all they want but it doesn't change the fact we are here now and I am going to make the best of it and thank God for the wonderful gift of life he has given me.

I think the 1st covenant was so that people were supposed to keep the law, but people failed that. God nevertheless in His great love and mercy wanted to save people from the curse of law, so He sent His Son to pay our lawlessness and to rewrite the covenant which we Christians call the new covenant. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ that in Him we can be part of God's covenant once again.

We need to heed to the laws, God’s Laws. My marriage was hurt by my husband’s affair. They both cheated on their own marriage. They coveted another’s spouse, they then lied, they fornicated outside their own holy marriage, they dishonoured their mother and father (and the whole concept of marriage /family.) INFIDELITY is destroying so many marriages.

Perhaps your next husband will have a kink for self-righteous tongue lashings. Not everyone strays casually from their marriage, sometimes they flee with good purpose. Infidelity is rarely the first and only deadly wound in a marriage but more often it is the last nail in it's coffin.

I too am amazed at how such tragic upbringings can result in people who grow up to also inflict horror onto others, but the majority I know (to include myself) do not. Speaking for myself, I know the pain, hate, evil coming from another human onto me. I knew I would never want another human being to feel that or go through similar experiences. Most certainly, I knew would not be the one to become that evil, rather, I would be wise, have understanding, to love (if at a distance,) and to help others who cross my path both abusers inflicting harm or to victims abused.

What I ponder on is what happens when 2 people grow up in similar abusive situation, as adults, 1 will protect and help others and 1 essentially becomes the very person who hurt them by in turn hurting others? What is the element that directed them to behave on opposite ends of the spectrum? External factors, internal factors, belief system, or combinations of the variables? I could have very well grown up to do unto others what was done unto me. Children learn from adults, mimic their parents, solve problems in the same way they’ve seen their parents solve problems and believe it’s just what you do, your parents know best kind of thinking… but I didn’t do that. Same with serial killers. 2 people had similar backgrounds, as children/teens they display behaviors that are commonly seen with adult serial killers… yet one grows up to actually become a serial killer and one doesn’t. What causes the shift in one direction rather than the other?

      @@n1njatuber Free will.
There may be some social forces which encourage one behavior or the other.
That may explain why in the USSR, the norm was soldiers who entered the army were abused by more senior soldiers and then when they were promoted they would abuse those below them.
But at the end of it all, it is still free will. It is just harder to be good if everyone else is evil.
Maybe that’s why Sodom had to be destroyed, to save man, to retain for us the chance of choosing good.

It is almost painful to listen to highly intellectual minds trying to make God fit their understanding of how things are to be. When God created Adam He intended for His man to walk with Him and commune with Him daily. Adam was created in God's image whereas we are created in the fallen image of Adam after sin entered. At Mt Sinai God invited the people to draw near but they chose to have Moses go and come back and tell them what God had to say. God gave the law, not to make man perfect, but to show him how impossible it was for him to be righteous. The law in essence exposed man's sin and pointed the way to the Way which was to come in the form of God's only Son. The Old Testament could never make man perfect which is why atonement for sin was always required. The sacrifice of Jesus once and for all redeemed man from his sin which is why we now have a much better covenant which was sealed with the Blood of God's own Son. There are only two laws we need keep, the first is Love God the second love our neighbour. You have to do the first .......... first. Which is impossible for the unforgiven man. Far too simple for intellectuals to understand. The Gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing.

Joseph, have you forgotten about the crusades. That war killed more people than any other war in the world's history. More people have been killed in the name of God than ANY other reason. Who says you're right? You? How do you know other religions gods aren't real? The 10 commandments are followed in all Abrahamic religions besides the Muslim faith. Who says there aren't multiple "heavens?" If anyone has it right it's probably the Buddhists. They sound the most correct to me. Feel free to disagree, that's fine. But here's a simple question I propose, if there is nothing God can't do, can he manifest a wall so high He cannot jump over it? The Christian ideal of God requires faith. Irs necessary for his existence depends on blind faith. If there was a way to prove God existed it would unmade God altogether. Just a little food for thought. Remember, your God says to be tolerant of others, no matter their beliefs. May God bless you on this night. Fair thee well my friend.

I guess a bit of an observation I made on the difference between a contract and a covenant.
A contract can be, if you mow my lawn today, I’ll mow your lawn next week. A contract has a beginning and an end, it has a finite number of line items.
A covenant is more like a marriage, it is open ended, thick and thin, regardless of what comes, we will stay together and face it.

John 3:16 is The Contract Between God and Man.
KJV John 3:16, The Gospel of Jesus Christ says...For God so loved the world, that he Gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever "BELIEVETH in HIM" should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Luther called John 3:16 “the heart of the Bible and Miniature Gospel, so simple a child can understand.”
Here I simplify the Gospel so a child or even an atheist can Believe It and be Saved.
“We are SAVED by GOD, by BELIEVING HE Sacrificed HIS Son to SAVE us.”
WE KNOW WE ARE SAVED Because we have GOD’s WORD, in a LEGAL BINDING Oral (Spoken by Jesus) and Written (by St. John) CONTRACT and Covenant with GOD in THE GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST John 3:16!
Our Gospel Contract with God is also a Last Will and Testament, Executed and put into effect by the Execution and Death of Jesus that allows us to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
When we Believe The Gospel we are Born Again, and have a Contract for Adoption to be God’s Children.
We Are SAVED By GOD, by BELIEVING in HIS WORD, and "ACCEPTING HIS OFFER," of His Son JESUS as Our SAVIOR.
The Execution and Death of His Son Jesus in exchange for our Eternal Life, is the “Consideration” and TIE that BINDS and Executes the Contract and makes it Legal.
Jesus told us exactly how to be Born Again and Saved when He spoke the words directly to Nicodemus in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, John 3:16.
John 3:16 is a simple Legal Offer, Consideration and Acceptance Contract, but is the Greatest and Most legal Contract ever Spoken and Written!
The Gospel may be easier to understand if stated in the first person of God…or…
For I GOD, so Loved the World that I Gave My only Son (Jesus Christ), to be (OFFERED) as a substitute sacrifice to Die for our sins (CONSIDERATION), so that whoever Believes in and (ACCEPTS) Him (as Savior) shall not perish, but have eternal life. (Be Saved)
God is the Giver and His Son Jesus is the Gift. We are not saved by the Gift, we are saved by the GIVER!

God cannot break his covenant. He told them exactly what would happen if they broke the covenant in the book of Deuteronomy if he didn't bring the Holocaust God would have been proved a liar. What it shows is that God still kept the covenant even after the events of the Holocaust because he loves the Jewish people he will punish them to the proper degree but he will always brings them back into his house.

I think if you understand Deuteronomy correctly, it's higher meaning hints at soul contracts made before we enter this life.
    The basis for this is:
Deuteronomy 9:5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
What contract did the Canaanites make with God?
Deuteronomy goes on to explain the blessings and the curses that the children of Israel are bound to.
And that they will forget the contract!

I think the one thing that is missing from this conversation is the promise to Abraham that happened 400 years before the law was given. It was not contractual. It was one sided. The promise is all on God and man has no part.
