    You're right Luke, this stuff is SO adaptable for so many different scenarios. Also, just gotta say, I really haven't had this much fun making terrain in a while! Great kits all around. Thanks for the great collab man🙂

    Glad its now actually push fit. The original stuff from the 1st kickstarter never worked as the clips were slightly too big. Took a lot of work to get them off the sprue and for the connectors to fit. Ended up glueing mine into sections

    Cool to see this vid. Honestly the pictures on their website don't do the terrain justice. I actually at first glance thought it was cardboard, but seeing it in video format assembled, looks good. Not flashy, but a nice good sci-fi arena.

    I am a massive fan of the Deadzone scenery and at the moment we have three different table themes all made from the stuff. We have an industrial themed set, a landing zone/space port themed set and we also have some ruins (with a little more on the way with the new Deadzone starter set). It's brilliant for a whole host of sci-fi games although my own personal experience is that not gluing the structures together isn't really practical. I have had so many clips that didn't fit quite as well as they should and either snapped during assembly or sprang apart after assembly at the slightest hint of a shock/impact. So I now tend towards making pre-built structures and sub-structures that can be used in isolation, in tandem with other structures or combined to make new structures.
    The beauty for me comes with the freedom you have to design and build the shapes and structures that you want.

    The first ever Mantic game I bought was Deadzone, I even bough the terrain mat and 2 starter factions. Mantics terrain system is just awesome, it’s affordable, customisable and looks just plain fantastic when painted and put on the table. Thanks for sharing this vid, I’m always amazed at how your gaming boards can go ‘next level’ with just some basic bits and pieces!

    I love Mantic's Terrain Crate, I used a massive amount to make a space port feel for Infinity and now, I using as a base to kit bash with GW bitz to make gantries for Necromunda. My only gripe is the kits could use more clips. I always run low and ordering them can take some time from a FLGS.

    I have some Manic terrain for their Walking Dead game... ruined buildings, cars, and trucks. The thing is, you can purchase even several of the same sets, but still be able to build something completely different out of those sets. I glued some things together to make a bit of scatter terrain I knew I wouldn't take apart. the rest I just painted up to build and rebuild as needed. Also, the modern-style terrain I bought came with a bunch of little things like benches, signs, trash cans, and barricades. Great for post-apocalyptic games.

  • @alexcross5916
    @alexcross5916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Their terrain is good looking, and I like the fact it's already off the sprues, but in some areas it looks like you still need to file down? My other worry is the cost, the terrain you had was around £160 in value I think, which is basically like getting it from GW, except much more modular I suppose - I'm just not sure I could justify the extra cost of this over TTCombat's mdf kits, which are equally modular but a fraction of the cost, especially when you've dropped awesome videos showing how to make it look just as good if not better than plastic stuff!

    • @alexcross5916
      @alexcross5916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GeekGamingScenics oh I completely agree on the plastic sets likely being easier to achieve great results, especially with their levels of detail, it's fantastic looking! I suppose it comes down to whether you want something quick where you pay more (Mantic) or a lot more effort but much cheaper (TT)? Don't get me wrong I'd rather be sent a huge collection of this terrain than MDF, but if I'm buying, the cost is something I'd have to consider.
      I know this is already really long, but one thing I saw on their site is their small booster packs with great detail in, which could be used with MDF to make some really cool looking stuff, which I definitely might consider
