Just read the comments below! This thing is a GAMECHANGER! (affiliate link here to purchase: amzn.to/45ocyX1)😃
You can, in fact, actually pop the top off of the plastic filter to clean it. The reason I've replaced all of my old floating dip tubes is the shape of thr float allows me to get more beer of of the keg, and the thinner tubing is such a nice quality of life thing.
Good to know!
great video ! I have 4 of these Flotit 2.0 dip tubes and love them. I had previously tried to make them myself with no luck. I think they are worth the extra cash.
Yeah, pretty much the same assumption I came to as well! Appreciate the comment!
Great review. Your Pros & Cons are spot on. I own 8 of these Flotit 2.0 dip tubes. I use them in each of my kegs as well as my pressure fermenter. Trong is a great seller and very responsive to questions. When the time comes that I need more, Flotit 2.0 dip tubes are the ones to get.
Right on!
are u a drunk becuse u have so many keg? i have only 0 keg but almost alcoholics
I am loving the Flotit 2.0 I have two and plan to buy a few more.
They are AMAZING! Please, if you do decide to purchase, use my link in the description! Helps support the channel!
Great video!! I own about 12 FLOTit 2.0s and absolutely love them. They are in all my kegs as well as my Fermzilla All Rounders. They are hands down the best floating diptubes on the market. Period, end of story!
Also, great point on mentioning reassembling them. Definitely a small learning curve. What I’ve come to learn is it’s so much easier to reassemble after a cleaning when the parts are still a little wet. And you sometimes need to find the right direction to “turn” the silicone cap onto the mesh due to the way the mesh is bonded to itself.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Great job! The audio sounds great. I love the FLOTit 2.0 devices, as I use them in all my kegs, and they are amazing in pressure fermenters too. I did a Blackberry Lime Sour and after a few failed attempts to transfer the beer to the keg due to all the Blackberry pulp, I put a FLOTit 2.0 in place and was able to transfer the majority of the beer without a clog from the Blackberry pulp.
Thank you! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! That is a great stress test for the FLOTit 2.0. Forget hops... fruit PULP!
Love your in-depth reviews on stuff. This was one of those items that I was looking at but wasn't sure if it was just a gimmick or not. I already have the Torpedo floating dip tubes with filters and they work mostly great, except for when they rise above the liquid line and you end up sucking gas, thinking your keg is kicked.
Thank you! I always wonder if people will be interested in these reviews. I tend to go into depth and geek out a bit. Glad it was helpful!
There is a cap on those white plastic filters that can pop off for cleaning.
You are Correct! Its a little tough to spot, and sadly, I did NOT realize this till after the video posted. Thanks for the tip!
Just ordered a Flotit 2.0 so I can convert one of my ball lock kegs into a pressure fermenter without having to cut the dip tube short.
You will not be disappointed! Things are awesome!
You missed the Clear Beer Draught system. also all stainless with mesh. Made in USA.
That being said, I like this dip tube as well.
I actually looked at the Clear Beer Draught system. You are correct. I should have mentioned it in the video. I excluded it because of the $40 price tag, and I need to get my hands on one first to really review it. Hopefully soon!
Quick question please, how long is the tubing that comes with the FLOTit 2.0? I'm looking to install it on a mammoth 6.5 gallon keg and was wondering if it would be long enough to reach the bottom? If not what size tubing would fit?
Well the length from the top of the dip tube to the bottom of the hose is 25”. Not sure how that works out in your keg, but I usually have to trim off some of my hose in the 5gal kegs because it’s a little long. If you do decide to purchase, please use our affiliate link! Thank you for the support!
Maybe I'm dense (what cigar was that? I love a maduro) but I don't understand the flow. You said there's an inlet in the float and I see the hole in the video. But the screens are behind the float. Beer enters exactly where.. the screens or the hole in the float.. or for lack of words.. how the heck? If entering thru the float, how is it screened?
Never mind.. saw a picture that indicated the hole in the float is not an inlet. Now it makes sense.
All good! It is SHOCKING how well that float and screen design works.
Glad you were able to make sense of how the float works. As to the cigar, they are cheapies, but (I think) really great for the price. www.famous-smoke.com/conuco-toro-cigars-maduro?pid=54524. Let me know if you get some, and what you think!
@@BenhamBrewing Hey, thanks much!
If I knew this existed I would have bought it instead of the basic floating dip tube. The installation alone is worth the extra money. If you’re going to buy a floating dip tube anyways, an extra $15 to make your life easier isn’t an investment just common sense.
Right? I was shocked when I got my hands on it! Why aren't more people using this thing! (speaking of purchasing... affiliate link here: amzn.to/45ocyX1) ;-)
