Very nice explanation. At LCQ, we saw a lot of teams, especially outside of americas, shift comps to incorporate the old single controller astra and hit A site a lot more, due to the fact that it isn’t nearly as messy as B site. Still think the map is pretty unhealthy for attackers, but the changes were definitely an improvement.
Imo pearl is fine in ranked as attckers don't have the same level of coordination compared to pro play, usually attackers would defend on site instead of main more, which makes retaking easier.
Feels like it’s got the same core issues as Icebox a lot of potential but with so many angles, 50/50s and unfavorable sight lines people just stick with default plants.
Cool concept for a video, but the script was a little unclear. Def could have used more explanation on the 5 points that make a good map, so that it's easier to understand what about pearl is well designed, and how B Long negated the design of the rest of the map. The script showed us these 5 points of good map design, but never used or explained them in any way, leaving the rest of the video unfulfilling. Maybe use the rest of Pearl as the introduction to what makes a good valorant map, than explain how B long ruins this balance, thus destroying the competitive integrity of the map. Great editing tho.
Nah the rotating doors are cool, C site just feels good, B is good for save, but predictable enough for defense to defend well, and A site has a lot of cool opportunities for util. Not to mention the aesthetics are awesome.
i am hardstuck iron 3 on EA servers and these low-elo players just always rush B-long. I remeber that I got 2 aces on B-long, one with marshall and one with guardian. I am really looking foward on these chages. Nice video with all the animations etc. mate!
Another thing that needs to be changed is mid. As it is right now, mid is takes too heavy of an investment to contest by defenders while attackers have a very easy chance of retaking it once defenders do take mid control early. The way mid is designed right now, defenders have very limited ways of retaining mid control once they take it. This weakens the flank options and timings even more.
Like pre chamber nerfs, he was basically the only one that could hold the B site because of his to that allowed for him to use those one and done angles on long but now really no one can actually hold it
This is the first time I've seen someone dislike Pearl. I know when it first came out people were iffy on it, but it's genuinely a really fun map for me personally. (This is after the map changes have gone through though. I did not have a ton of experience playing on Pearl before the change).
Well tbf, the video is specifically about pro play, wich only vaguely can be replicated at the highest of ranks. Im D1 currently, and 70% of the time, noone holds flank on B site for example, wich makes retaking B a joke.
Hopefully the problems are fixed by riots changes, another thing that could potentially help defenders is more onsite cover and a reduction of size in the planting zone.
honestly when i started playing valo again hated pearl and lotus and started to realise that i reather icebox instead (yet now i accept lotus if im raze, i still hat epearl, and they decide to remove fracture, a map i love, and ADD BREEZEEE BACK, A MAP O HATED AND I HATE EVEN WITH THE REWORK MORE)
it should as then the first team to get the favorable side will usually win more and have a large lead. The losing team when switching sides is likely to have less wiggle room
obviously pearl has long been fixed at this point, but for anyone visiting in the future another reason why pearl b became so problematic was chamber getting nerfed, as pre nerf chamber was the only one who could play the cubby and pillar angles on b long and get out safely, forcing attackers to use utility to clear him out.
Oh no this map ruins the game for less than1% of players. This is what higher level player would call a skill issue to anyone in metal ranks that would be complaining about it who hold the majority voice of things
Nah, that title belongs to Lotus lmao. Pearl is automatically a pretty decent map purely because it doesn't have some shitty gimmick or mechanic to it. Lotus has the rotating doors, the breakable one, AND 3 bomb sites. Gimmicks in Valorant just aren't fun lol, aside from the teleporters from bind since you can actually play around them and use them for strats or something.

Me and my friends always loved playing on pearl for what ever reason we nearly never lost a match there
To be honest I like pearl
Imo pearl is fine in ranked as attckers don't have the same level of coordination compared to pro play, usually attackers would defend on site instead of main more, which makes retaking easier.
same with me idk why to be honest, really hate that map but I have the best wr in it
Feels like it’s got the same core issues as Icebox a lot of potential but with so many angles, 50/50s and unfavorable sight lines people just stick with default plants.
Well edited + good explainations + new sub, I think your going to be big :D
Fr
You are so UNDERRATED wow. You pay so much attention to details, I love it. Subbed

Pearl still has like 5 times the creativity and complexity compared to Lotus though
No, no not at all
Nah the rotating doors are cool, C site just feels good, B is good for save, but predictable enough for defense to defend well, and A site has a lot of cool opportunities for util. Not to mention the aesthetics are awesome.
no it doesn’t 💀
They took split and just made an area behind mid connecting to spawn. What creativity dawg.
very weird take

You're a low elo player yourself, so how do these changes even matter if theres no proper team work in your rank?
Another thing that needs to be changed is mid.

Gained a sub, you did such an amazing job with this video.
Problem with valorant:
-You can headshot with every wepon
-jumping is worse then crouching still even tho you are 1 inch to the enemy

Which is the song? 0:34
I still default to attacking B, since most Ranked players aren't capable of taking advantage of those changes
so underrated, well made video keep it up!!
"pearl is the worst map" wait till he hears about lotus
Fr.Lotus sucks ass
Yeah fr
nice vid mate.explained it good :)
Thanks!
0:43 Yo! This camera POV is kinda nice. W camera team valorant
Well made video dude. Keep it up
Hopefully the problems are fixed by riots changes, another thing that could potentially help defenders is more onsite cover and a reduction of size in the planting zone.
Maybe the planting zone could move in towards the defenders more and less visible to the attackers from B long
7:29 its sad for me cause i had lineups that used part of the cubby and i had to make new ones
I have line ups 🤓👆
when is the pearl revamp gonna come out?
June 6th
Gained a sub awesome vid
honestly when i started playing valo again hated pearl and lotus and started to realise that i reather icebox instead (yet now i accept lotus if im raze, i still hat epearl, and they decide to remove fracture, a map i love, and ADD BREEZEEE BACK, A MAP O HATED AND I HATE EVEN WITH THE REWORK MORE)
Great vid brother
Pearl got some good changes these days tho
I loose almost everygame on this map i hope they add some new maps for competitive very soon
defense pearl is w, attack less better... many people don't like fracture but it's my favourite map ( 1st is lotus)
ive always hated pearl because of the push on the attacker side of b site because in my elo nobody ever smokes
I remember when fractured was the bane of every players bane of existence. I feel like the new maps in Val just suck
Great vid
You gained a subscriber
I said this when I saw the rotation is that this map was growing on me a lot
Neon is also good o pearl on attack on B becauss of her wall players can just wall to hall and then kill the enemies watching site
Do not let riot cook again, fracture, pearl
I personally dislike Lotus a lot more and feel like it deserves the title more than pearl.
need to make plant more spammable from link and open to site, or add walls to site
sunset and breeze are hated most
"what makes a good map" he forgot to add in my opinion 🐊👍
it doesnt have to bee equal for atack and defense in a game where both teams got to play both sides
it should as then the first team to get the favorable side will usually win more and have a large lead. The losing team when switching sides is likely to have less wiggle room
how do you say pearl is the worst map when there is fracture
fracture in the corner:
Ratio, Pearl #2 on the best maps
nice ratio
@@AdityaSunil232 I said it jokingly 😂
I know it used to be a terrible map but now it's become my #2 favorite
Meanwhile Breeze:
me who thinks pearl is my fav map:
Rip it’s gonna be out of comp
This is to me worse than first release icebox, and i even liked that to some extent
🤓🤓
I love pearl 😊
Bro I got Pearl while watching this video..
I mean pearl is a quite bad but nothing beats fracture and breeze
You reap what you sow. Add smooth brain agents with smooth brain 0 skill abilities you end up with that shit
I will always standby the fact Pearl is ass if the aesthetics aren't taken into account
Bro lotus is bad as well
you say pearl is the worst but icebox only has 1 useable site and breeze has been changed so many times because of how awful it is
lotus and breeze:
my fav map bro
5:32 LMAO
That’s not what begging the question means
breeze and icebox are hot cheeks
I Can only Win On Pearl If I play Neon
obviously pearl has long been fixed at this point, but for anyone visiting in the future another reason why pearl b became so problematic was chamber getting nerfed, as pre nerf chamber was the only one who could play the cubby and pillar angles on b long and get out safely, forcing attackers to use utility to clear him out.
If its bad in comp just remove it, I personally love Pearl in ranked.
Skill issue tbh
Oh no this map ruins the game for less than1% of players. This is what higher level player would call a skill issue to anyone in metal ranks that would be complaining about it who hold the majority voice of things
i love pearl cause i love snipers
pearls too dark
I love pearl, by far my best map
Why doesn’t valo just let u choose maps like cs
Agent mains
Long queue times
So if u main sova and u love ascent u will be forced to play him in other maps
nooo i love this map
Ascent is the the most boring map, same comps, defense sided, no creative ways to get into the sites
It's just a boring map now
Pearl is my fav, haven is suck
if youre noob youre noob it has nothing to do with maps.
Lotus is mid beyond repair
Nah bro. I'm pretty sure lotus is the worst map... definitely not pearl
bro what, i love pearl, fracture is the worse
Pearl and lotus are the worst map ever created.
Bro keeps getting killed by ops skill issue in my opinion
pearl is rhe best map, im always winning it😅
Fracture is worse change my mind.
Fracture is worst, theres shit better than fracture
Valorant maps are trash, period.
Ur thumbnail is a lie the worst map is lotus and split no cap tbh
Nah, that title belongs to Lotus lmao. Pearl is automatically a pretty decent map purely because it doesn't have some shitty gimmick or mechanic to it.
Lotus has the rotating doors, the breakable one, AND 3 bomb sites. Gimmicks in Valorant just aren't fun lol, aside from the teleporters from bind since you can actually play around them and use them for strats or something.
I disagree. A site is worse cause it’s smaller, therefore if the whole team pushes A, it’s over.
Pearl is the best map
your logic is terrible pearl is literally the best map
GOODJOBB I PROUD OF THIS VID
Thanks!
I disagree. Pearl is very fun 🤠
I hate pearl W
