Cozy? She attempted murder on several different occasions! For me, that throws the, "She's just a kid," thing right out the window, to quote Silver Quill. All she cared about was power. She didn't care who died in the process. That's just plain wickedness, pure and simple. She got what she deserved.

Well this would explain why Tirek never used the chaotic magic of Discord's in his fight with Twilight. Seems like him taking the magic was simply a way to boost Tirek's own magical power.
The girls are completely right when they tell Twilight that she “will come up with something to save the day” and that she always does. Notice that they don’t say that SHE will save the day but that she will think of something. That is soooo accurate! 👇 Nightmare Moon: Twilight is the only pony who knows who she is and what she plans to do and how to stop her. She eventually figures out how but doesn’t do it by herself. Discord: she restores her friend’s memories so they can use the elements of harmony to defeat him. Sombra: I know Spike gets the credit for saving the crystal empire but it was Twilight that learned about the crystal heart and found it. If it weren’t for her Spike wouldn’t have had a crystal heart to bring to the crystal ponies. Chrysalis: while Cadance and Shining Armor ultimately saved Canterlot and defeated Chrysalis Twilight found the real Candace and also freed her from Chrissy’s goop to go to Shining Armor to free him from her power. These are just a few examples of how Twilight usually figures out HOW to save the day. The only instance I can think of where she did it on her own (and correct me if I’m wrong) was with Starlight and her time travel spell.

Had she not taken Starlight in things wouldn’t have worked out. Same with the finale. Had she not created the school things would have been bad as well. Your right when you say she’s Celestia. What ended up saving everyone was basically a “backup plan”.

In the grand scheme of things, Discord losing his powers probably is the worst part of that situation, since it means that their ability to alter reality at will is gone. No more safety net

Well, if one were to think about what Discord said, maybe his contribution was to keep them concious. I mean, he wanted them to be together because they'd hate it, but if they aren't concious about it then it wouldn't affect them. It would be like they were together, they get petrified, and if they ever got released it would be a blink of an eye and they could go their seperate ways if they so wished. Keeping them concious means they get to be aware of each other, if not stare at each other. Reforming them? Well, maybe the statue ends up close to The School Of Friendship where friendship gets to pass them by every hour. Or end up in a garden where a lone pony tends to it every day, like in Keepers of Discord if you ever heard of that story. Discord's Chaos Magic is not simply a matter of casting, or willing it, but most probably a thought on how improbable would it actually be for it to behave. Cozy simply said "DESTRUCTION!" ... yeah, right. "EXPLOSION!" "HEAT!" ... oh please. What you do is figure out just how improbable it would be for an explosion to spontaniously happen in this particular area at this particular time with a specific shade of petunia. ;) ... What do you mean a sperm whale is not a color? XD
Fantastic reaction to the first 2 episodes of the season 9 finale, Applegeek. ^^ As I looked at your Twitter almost daily since your reaction to "The Big Mac Question", I was utterly thrilled and hyped to come in at 7:50 pm and see that a livestream reaction was to take place for the Ending of the End parts! And yes, I get why some fans wanted at least Cozy Glow or Chrysalis to reform. But the reason why I was glad that none of the three did not reform was because if the 3 villains did reform, it would just feel kind of anti-climatic from a certain standpoint. Not to mention since there was just one final episode after this, we wouldn't have a lot of character development here for the three even if they did reform. There's always fanfictions, of course, if anyone wishes to see an alternate ending.
The thing that bothered me was, at the end, you know who is there on the battlefield? Luna, Discord, Trixie, Starlight, Stygian, and Tempest. And none of them spoke up for the villains. Not one. You could have offered the chance to reform and have them reject it, but with that many redeemed villains present, it feels odd that no one thought of it. Also, Discord confirmed earlier that he was conscious while imprisoned in stone; I'd expect him to think it was too cruel.
@@windwalker5765 Discord's stone prison was from the Elements whereas this was some kind of spell so it's likely they work differently. There's even established evidence to support it... Remember when Rockhoof wanted Twilight to turn him to stone? His exact words were "A statuary spell that sends ponies into stone sleep". He wouldn't have requested it had it been eternal torture. So I assume this was the same spell used in the finale.
@@crazykirsch Yeah, that is exactly what I was thinking. And even if the villains had been sent to Tartarus, they could've likely broken out yet again. I am aware of how some fans may think the punishment for the three villains was too harsh, but Rockhoof's description of a "statuary spell" would have made sense as to what Discord, Celestia, and Luna were doing as punishment for the three baddies. So the villainous trio are simply in stone sleep and not conscious while in stone.
Discord as Grogar was the only thing in the show that really shocked me. Thinking about it though it's genius. I see it as a jab at Celestia. "I can play your little setup lesson game too- Retirement!?!? NOT TODAY!!!!!" It may have backfired but Discord got Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy back good in the end though
Nearly five years on and the best moment of this episode is not the entire town and the friends made turning up, but Derpy Hooves leading the Wonderbolts into the attack
You know something? The fact that Pinkie Pie was able to control Discord's magic so easily can only mean one thing: she has her own brand of Chaos Magic. It explains all the weird and wacky stuff she's been able to do and how easy it was for her to use Discord's magic. That is both hilarious and terrifying. Also, Applegeek...prepare yourself for some epic feels because there's one more episode left and I guarantee it will have you crying by the end of it.
Tbh, discord's intentions was good. He wanted to boost the confidence of the new leaders, twilight and her friends. He wanted them to feel they WELL deserve the position of the ruler of equestria. And it even worked! He planned the Sombra attack, and Twilight was really confident in herself, even if that battle was set up and planned. I really love discord. Even though.... His plans backfire completely.

I just glad that we finally got every ally to come and help save the day. Was highly let down the 2017 film didn't do that, but I must admit Discord having actually been Grogar the entire time is far more disappointing. During Season 5 Starlight was hidden throughout at least 3 different Episodes foreshadowing her return and just how she came up with her plan. Discord's reveal? We have.... Number A - He wasn't surprised nor concerned that Sombra returned but why would he? This is Discord who told us up front a "has been king couldn't hurt him". Number B - His line at the end of Summer Sun Setback. I'll answer this in a sec. Number C - Grogar's design resembled Discord's just a tiny bit. Granted his eyes, maybe, but we see the REAL Grogar's look in that book Tirek showed us so this is a very muted detail. Number D - Discord can FEEL, or sense, when Tirek steals magic. He tracked him down in a millisecond back in Season 4 because of this. So I had assumed the entire season that Discord knew of the villains' return from the very second Tirek absorbed magic. There is nothing solid to warrant this huge of a reveal. I admit we had no idea if Grogar did indeed use this orb to watch the villains getting his Bell, as he said he had been watching them the entire time. I suppose that could hda been a plot point but if this hda been the real Grogar he would had been smart enough to have a plan B in case he was double crossed. The built up was awesome, the villain Eps were fantastic and the how the Princesses would had reacted when Grogar revealed himself....Aw well, at least his Bell kept working and just like that green magic that corrupted Rarity, it had to have gone somewhere. I almost expected him to be INSIDE the Bell and was freed upon taking in so much magic. Again aw well. Other than this the Ep was great and if this had been the series' final it would have been great. But we got a Ep so emotional a friend of mine is still struggling to get back into the show. Good to see Temptest even tho she spoke no lines. All of these cameos - Little Strong Heart even - were awesome and Dash approved. I do wonder, will they pull a Discord by trying to redeem these baddies akin to Season 3? Who knows. Whenever this virus is over I hope we'll finally get the Season 10 comics. Over all great Ep, one of my all time faves and I really have to see where the fans take the unanswered questions. If Grogar had came back, would the Tree Of Harmony had gotten involved? Along with the above reveal, this is another massive disappointment. I want to say that the Young 6 had a larger role planed, going by that painted stain glass window of them battling a monster, but all of that was cut due to Season 9 being the last. There's still so much to the lifes of these characters that were skipped over with those many moons, if the comics and the 2021 film don't do it then we the fans must fill them in. No stone unturned, as Maud would likely not say. ^^;
I too was so sad to see the villains just turned to stone in the end. The rest of this episode I love, but that... Because they really weren't given many chances. Chrysalis was given fewer chances than Starlight (and certainly less effort), and Cozy got none at all. Still, hopefully in the future they can move forward, given that, as long as they're in that statue, they're not going anywhere.
Fun tidbit over here AppleGeek. You kinda foreshadow unknowingly the "Discord is Grogar" thing on your commentaries a few episodes ago. Not exactly on that specific statement but very similar on that vein. I don't remember which episode but it involves Discord on it. And I don't think it's the Big Mac wedding one.
Imagine the villains threat "Stay still or the dragon's wings get plugged" from one of the villains after Season 3 Finale with Twilight, it wasn't much of a threat back then :P

Cozy? She attempted murder on several different occasions! For me, that throws the, "She's just a kid," thing right out the window, to quote Silver Quill. All she cared about was power. She didn't care who died in the process. That's just plain wickedness, pure and simple. She got what she deserved.

Well this would explain why Tirek never used the chaotic magic of Discord's in his fight with Twilight. Seems like him taking the magic was simply a way to boost Tirek's own magical power.
The girls are completely right when they tell Twilight that she “will come up with something to save the day” and that she always does. Notice that they don’t say that SHE will save the day but that she will think of something. That is soooo accurate! 👇
Nightmare Moon: Twilight is the only pony who knows who she is and what she plans to do and how to stop her. She eventually figures out how but doesn’t do it by herself.
Discord: she restores her friend’s memories so they can use the elements of harmony to defeat him.
Sombra: I know Spike gets the credit for saving the crystal empire but it was Twilight that learned about the crystal heart and found it. If it weren’t for her Spike wouldn’t have had a crystal heart to bring to the crystal ponies.
Chrysalis: while Cadance and Shining Armor ultimately saved Canterlot and defeated Chrysalis Twilight found the real Candace and also freed her from Chrissy’s goop to go to Shining Armor to free him from her power.
These are just a few examples of how Twilight usually figures out HOW to save the day. The only instance I can think of where she did it on her own (and correct me if I’m wrong) was with Starlight and her time travel spell.
In season 6 Twilight was literally Celestia, she was completely useless and captured, Starlight saved the day in season 6.

Had she not taken Starlight in things wouldn’t have worked out. Same with the finale. Had she not created the school things would have been bad as well. Your right when you say she’s Celestia. What ended up saving everyone was basically a “backup plan”.

Well, if one were to think about what Discord said, maybe his contribution was to keep them concious. I mean, he wanted them to be together because they'd hate it, but if they aren't concious about it then it wouldn't affect them. It would be like they were together, they get petrified, and if they ever got released it would be a blink of an eye and they could go their seperate ways if they so wished. Keeping them concious means they get to be aware of each other, if not stare at each other.
Reforming them? Well, maybe the statue ends up close to The School Of Friendship where friendship gets to pass them by every hour. Or end up in a garden where a lone pony tends to it every day, like in Keepers of Discord if you ever heard of that story.
Discord's Chaos Magic is not simply a matter of casting, or willing it, but most probably a thought on how improbable would it actually be for it to behave. Cozy simply said "DESTRUCTION!" ... yeah, right. "EXPLOSION!" "HEAT!" ... oh please. What you do is figure out just how improbable it would be for an explosion to spontaniously happen in this particular area at this particular time with a specific shade of petunia. ;)

As I looked at your Twitter almost daily since your reaction to "The Big Mac Question", I was utterly thrilled and hyped to come in at 7:50 pm and see that a livestream reaction was to take place for the Ending of the End parts!
And yes, I get why some fans wanted at least Cozy Glow or Chrysalis to reform. But the reason why I was glad that none of the three did not reform was because if the 3 villains did reform, it would just feel kind of anti-climatic from a certain standpoint. Not to mention since there was just one final episode after this, we wouldn't have a lot of character development here for the three even if they did reform. There's always fanfictions, of course, if anyone wishes to see an alternate ending.
The thing that bothered me was, at the end, you know who is there on the battlefield? Luna, Discord, Trixie, Starlight, Stygian, and Tempest. And none of them spoke up for the villains. Not one. You could have offered the chance to reform and have them reject it, but with that many redeemed villains present, it feels odd that no one thought of it. Also, Discord confirmed earlier that he was conscious while imprisoned in stone; I'd expect him to think it was too cruel.
@@windwalker5765 Discord's stone prison was from the Elements whereas this was some kind of spell so it's likely they work differently.
There's even established evidence to support it...
Remember when Rockhoof wanted Twilight to turn him to stone? His exact words were "A statuary spell that sends ponies into stone sleep". He wouldn't have requested it had it been eternal torture. So I assume this was the same spell used in the finale.
@@crazykirsch Yeah, that is exactly what I was thinking. And even if the villains had been sent to Tartarus, they could've likely broken out yet again.
I am aware of how some fans may think the punishment for the three villains was too harsh, but Rockhoof's description of a "statuary spell" would have made sense as to what Discord, Celestia, and Luna were doing as punishment for the three baddies. So the villainous trio are simply in stone sleep and not conscious while in stone.
Discord as Grogar was the only thing in the show that really shocked me. Thinking about it though it's genius. I see it as a jab at Celestia. "I can play your little setup lesson game too- Retirement!?!? NOT TODAY!!!!!" It may have backfired but Discord got Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy back good in the end though
The minutes of the students uniting everyone is proof that the younger generation knows more than the older ones

They made one fatal error, they underestimated the ability of the ponies to come back together.
You know something? The fact that Pinkie Pie was able to control Discord's magic so easily can only mean one thing: she has her own brand of Chaos Magic. It explains all the weird and wacky stuff she's been able to do and how easy it was for her to use Discord's magic. That is both hilarious and terrifying.
Also, Applegeek...prepare yourself for some epic feels because there's one more episode left and I guarantee it will have you crying by the end of it.
Tbh, discord's intentions was good. He wanted to boost the confidence of the new leaders, twilight and her friends. He wanted them to feel they WELL deserve the position of the ruler of equestria. And it even worked! He planned the Sombra attack, and Twilight was really confident in herself, even if that battle was set up and planned.
I really love discord. Even though.... His plans backfire completely.
I didn't think a knee high twerp could be so evil but Cozy Glow seems to make Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon from the early episodes look like angels.

I just glad that we finally got every ally to come and help save the day. Was highly let down the 2017 film didn't do that, but I must admit Discord having actually been Grogar the entire time is far more disappointing.
During Season 5 Starlight was hidden throughout at least 3 different Episodes foreshadowing her return and just how she came up with her plan. Discord's reveal? We have....
Number A - He wasn't surprised nor concerned that Sombra returned but why would he? This is Discord who told us up front a "has been king couldn't hurt him".
Number B - His line at the end of Summer Sun Setback. I'll answer this in a sec.
Number C - Grogar's design resembled Discord's just a tiny bit. Granted his eyes, maybe, but we see the REAL Grogar's look in that book Tirek showed us so this is a very muted detail.
Number D - Discord can FEEL, or sense, when Tirek steals magic. He tracked him down in a millisecond back in Season 4 because of this. So I had assumed the entire season that Discord knew of the villains' return from the very second Tirek absorbed magic.
There is nothing solid to warrant this huge of a reveal.
I admit we had no idea if Grogar did indeed use this orb to watch the villains getting his Bell, as he said he had been watching them the entire time. I suppose that could hda been a plot point but if this hda been the real Grogar he would had been smart enough to have a plan B in case he was double crossed.
The built up was awesome, the villain Eps were fantastic and the how the Princesses would had reacted when Grogar revealed himself....Aw well, at least his Bell kept working and just like that green magic that corrupted Rarity, it had to have gone somewhere.
I almost expected him to be INSIDE the Bell and was freed upon taking in so much magic. Again aw well. Other than this the Ep was great and if this had been the series' final it would have been great. But we got a Ep so emotional a friend of mine is still struggling to get back into the show.
Good to see Temptest even tho she spoke no lines. All of these cameos - Little Strong Heart even - were awesome and Dash approved. I do wonder, will they pull a Discord by trying to redeem these baddies akin to Season 3? Who knows. Whenever this virus is over I hope we'll finally get the Season 10 comics.
Over all great Ep, one of my all time faves and I really have to see where the fans take the unanswered questions. If Grogar had came back, would the Tree Of Harmony had gotten involved? Along with the above reveal, this is another massive disappointment.
I want to say that the Young 6 had a larger role planed, going by that painted stain glass window of them battling a monster, but all of that was cut due to Season 9 being the last. There's still so much to the lifes of these characters that were skipped over with those many moons, if the comics and the 2021 film don't do it then we the fans must fill them in. No stone unturned, as Maud would likely not say. ^^;
I too was so sad to see the villains just turned to stone in the end. The rest of this episode I love, but that...
Because they really weren't given many chances. Chrysalis was given fewer chances than Starlight (and certainly less effort), and Cozy got none at all. Still, hopefully in the future they can move forward, given that, as long as they're in that statue, they're not going anywhere.
Maybe the Season 10 IDW series will take care of the backstories with those 3 super baddies.
