Can we just take a second to appreciate the fact that when Bucky's therapist asked about his nightmares, he denied having them, but when Sam asked if he was still having nightmares, Bucky said "All the time" without hesitation - That's huge growth on Bucky's behalf, and in their relationship

Sucks that the way he received the shield was when it was covered in blood. Literally and metaphorically. It might be hard for the public to trust whoever wields the shield so Sam is already at a disadvantage in that life. Sort of like in real life with other certain issues..

    Fun Fact : -
Isaiah Bradley's story about breaking out to go rescue some fellow black soldier POW's and bring them all home was actually HIS story in the comics before they decided to appropriate it for the first Captain America (First Avenger) movie and had Steve Rogers do the same.
Steve Rogers never actually did that in the comics, and it was actually Isaiah's Bradley's storyline.
Which is kind of fitting (and,...welll....apropos) that he was re-telling it in those whole narrative where he's talking about how they erased his past just like America has been erasing the history of black people for 500 years, that they would take the story of what a black man did, and whitewash it and instead make it the story of what the white hero did to make him even more heroic (....to a largely white audience).
Not saying they did it intentionally (at least not when they wrote and made the first Captain America movie where they actually did the appropriation), especially because they probably didn't know at that time that Isaiah Bradley's storyline would ever be done in live action.
But taking black people's stories and whitewashing them and re-framing them as white heroes storylines is a staple of American storytelling going back Centuries.
The white hero that most Americans know as the Lone Ranger was an actual REAL life black man and living legend - a former freed slave, Civil War hero, and legendary U.S. Marshall known as Bass Reeves (people who watched The Watchmen HBO show might have been introduced to him a bit).

Amazing episode. John Walker vs. Bucky and Sam was dope. The Isaiah Bradley scene was heartbreaking. The first post-credit scene was awesome. What's in the box? I'm guessing it's vibranium wings, a new red wing, and a new costume. I also loved Bucky and Sam's heartfelt talk while throwing the shield back forth. Great to see Batroc the Leaper and Torres again. Next episode, I see John Walker getting the U.S. Agent moniker. Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in the MCU holy marvel.

In the MCU, Steve Rogers was 25 years old when he became Captain America. The year on the screen says 1943 & his enlistment form lists his DOB as July 4, 1918. So Steve was 25, fought in WW2 for two years, then was frozen in 1945 at the age of 27, and woke up in 2012 America. Steve formed his own non-segregated military unit in WW2, a time when the military demanded segregation in all units. But Steve said he was forming the unit "of the best men for the job" so Steve never saw race. Which was why he thought it was okay to give Sam the shield, because all he saw was "Sam = good man".

What I really like about Sam's conversation with Bucky here is that he finally got over the animosity and became what he's always been to his friends: a counselor for traumatized soldiers.
I think that many people overlook just how much Bucky can relate to Sam and Isaiah. He was a good man who was captured and literally enslaved for years, and when he finally got his freedom he was distrusted or outright hated by everyone. He's someone who did the best he could to do everything right, and is still barely tolerated because he was systematically victimized by those in power. Unfortunately, that describes the American experience for far too many people.

    - Steven Rogers was 25 when he became Captain America 😉 he was born in 1918 and enlisted in the US Army in 1943
    - As for how time travel works, the writers of Endgame (disagreeing with the Russo’s brothers) said that old Steve was from the same timeline as our Steve and the other Avengers, meaning that Steve was always meant to be the never-seen-husband of Peggy Carter and that both versions of Steve, the young one and the old one, were at Peggy’s funeral. The two remaining doubts are: 1. how did he live in the society without being recognized by people? 2. where does the shield he gave to Falcon come from? Maybe he asked Peggy and Howard to make another one, explaining to them everything about time travel and the future... the problem is: did Howard have any more vibranium? 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was a great reaction video. I loved spending time with you fine people! But what moved my cursor to that Subscribe button was the insight about Bucky's line about being right-handed. Someone had asked if it was perhaps ad libbed. But after that interpretation of the meaning behind it, I have to believe that it was scripted and scripted WELL. So powerful.
Another great observation that Grace Randolph had was their brilliant contrast between Isiah's line about "no self-respecting black man would want to" with the scene of Sam's nephews role playing with the shield. Sam felt trapped between those two points of view, of the abused and discarded on one side and the innocent and aspiring on the other.
That slow motion shot of him walking after Bucky leaves, before his training montage... man. That's where he makes the decision. That's where he becomes Captain America. Should have had him splitting some wood to celebrate. :-D

    2. Sharon has been on the run for 7 years (2 years between Civil War and Infinity War + 5 years of the Blip).
    3. I'm 99% sure it was the Russo Brothers (directors of Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame and the other 1% being the writers of all those movies, Marcus & McFeely) who said in an interview that Steve's entire life with Peggy was in an alternate timeline and he returned to the "proper" MCU timeline after she died. This would mean him going to the past changed zero events and he would not appear in any pictures during the time he should be under the ice. Though, since this hasn't officially happened in universe and was instead in an interview, that could be "retconned" later. Though I do expect it to be fully explained and clarified in Loki, as you stated in the afterthoughts.

I definitely didn't assume Bucky would have the advantage, super-soldier wise. He got an unknown amount of an experimental super soldier serum that we never saw stacked up against the classic (especially when Steve had such a weak starting point, physically).
Meanwhile Walker started off at the "peak" that is at least in the ballpark of where the serum put comic book Steve Rogers, before getting a serum that seems to be pretty damn good at the super-strength and toughness areas. Even if it probably doesn't measure up to the original multiple-step one Steve got and everyone's been chasing since.

That was his purpose throughout the series! He's not a bad man, but not as close as a hero like Steve Rogers was! And somehow, we can't help but feel bad for him.
