Unfortunately you need the Dragonborn DLC to do this version of the glitch. To obtain the power "Secret of Arcana", you have to do the quest "Filament and Filigree", which can be found when mining an excavation site for Ralis on Solstheim. Telekinesis is the spell that is used, and can be purchased when you are level 50 in alteration from the college of Winterhold, or can be found in Labrynthian. Basically just activate the power, hold something, and while keeping the triggers/mouse held down, fast travel to a location far away to give enough time for your alteration to get to 100. You will know if you did this correctly if your level bar is full when you begin fast traveling. Then wait 24 hours to use your power again and make your alteration skill legendary and you're good to repeat! - เกม

I like the image of the dragon born telekinetically holding something the entire walk from whiterun to solitude, and then being like " alright, now that I've become a master of the arcane arts..."
yeah, that's actually preatty neat, that it was programmed this way, because it's logical, and works this way, only downside is they didn't calculate mana cost per travell time, but it may be dragonborn just have a rest, restore mana and continue hiw way levitating things.

Glitch aside, this kind of makes sense. Traveling across the entire skyrim while telekinetically carrying a bowl the whole way. Of course you'd level the alteration that much.
But the spells and active powers wouldn't last that long if you tried to do this yourself 😂
this is supposed to be Mysticism so todd howard can suck it for dumbing it down to alteration. Its not even changing the physical state of the bowl so it makes no sense to be alteration. Like wtf todd.

The Schools of Magic were a system invented by the Mages Guild in a try to categorize a bunch of spells that worked in similar ways into one category in order to make understanding and learning them easier. But spells can't be categorized that easily, hence why some spells changed their school over time: Paralyze from Alteration to illusion and back to Alteration, Light from Illusion to Alteration, Soul Trap from Mysticism to Conjuration, etc. It's not a universal system, more like a guide.
@@Sianic12 you're right. Iirc there's a book in Skyrim where somone is arguing that destruction spells like fireball and Ice Spike could easily be alteration spells as you're changing something in the real world, you're combusting, or cooling the air

For those wondering how to get the Secret of Arcana,you need the following things:
Dragonborn DLC
11,250 gold
At least level 20
The Secret of Arcana is located at Kolbjorn Barrow just east of Raven Rock. You need to be in the final room of the Nordic dungeon (let me point out that the Black Book:Filament and Filigree has 2 other powers ,one is Secret of Strenght and the last one is Secret of Protection)

Theoretically, it wouldn't be a bug just because the process of training is skipped by fast travel. In real life he/she may just tried (in vain) to move the fxxk8ng thing across the continent just by using telekinesis. Makes perfect sense

You need alteration maxed if you're playing on higher difficulties, you take way too much damage without the master alteration spell.
This glitch will make a fine addition to my collection

If you play skyrim you know that one lengthy loading screen is nothing when they're all like that, and from 0 to max in one screen...
If you don't have Secret of Arcana, enchant a ring, necklace, helmet and armor/clothes with reduce cost of alteration by 25%. It stacks so it'll remove 100% of the cost, and you get to level up enchantment too.
The loading screen music got me in my feels. I put so many hours into this game back then...

I remember myself judging and complaining to my brother for getting this game just because a friend told him to buy it. Later I tested it. Got stuck for 3 months playing 10 hours straight per day. It is one of the most immersive game experiences I ever had, if not the most one. Never been so happy to be wrong in my life

Another alternative to this is picking up something small and spinning while using telekinesis on it, sometimes the game just decides to not drop the tomato even if you have no magika
Same thing happened to me in the Skaal village on Solsteim. Was snagging iron ingots and decided to play around and level up some alteration with some good old Telekinesis. It wouldn't let go and I let it run for like 20 minutes. Stopped it on accident and couldn't figure out how to do it again.

you dont actually need the dlc to do this glitch, you could also just enchant 2 pieces of armor and 2 jewelry each with 25% alteration cost reduction, which adds up to 100%, therefore your alteration spells cost no magicka, then do the same steps for the glitch
I had slained a lot of fish and blue butterflies to obtain ring called Philosopher Stone for 98152098757091 lvl potions

@@anthonygusman9909 yes it does, considering 2 pieces of armor plus 2 pieces of jewelry all worth 25 add to 100, therefore spells cost nothing, ive done it before
@@Wild.Gopher I doubt it, cost reduction is stacked sequentially, so having those items is going to reduce cost by (1 - 0.75^4)*100 = 68.36%
@@cozinoda I have literally done it hundreds of times, each item stacks, 25 x 4 = 100, therefore it costs nothing, im using it on my mage right now
The one Alteration Spell I miss from Oblivion and the only one I every really use, Feather, I miss being able to increase my carry capacity, it came in handy when looting in the Planes of Oblivion
it was also fun to cast burden on enemies, and then just attack them at range.

I know a mod which i use, is called odin magic overhaul and it also adds this spell named 'Ease Burden' which increases carry capacity, i really love the magic system now because of this mod and i got another one for scaling the spells with the character level but that's another thing
@@dominikdragomir2637 yeah ease burden was a feather spell on Oblivion, either Aprentice or Journeyman level. I used to use all of them at the same time on Oblivion to increase my carry capacity to maximum so I could loot the Oblivion gates 😂

You can actually just enchant armor, helmet, ring, and necklace with 25% reduced alteration cost and achieve the same thing without the dlc power.
But this on the other hand gives you low level grind, when enchanting is more like mid game fastest method. Still not fastest overall, but for mid game it's good.

I feel like these glitches makes the game so much more interesting. Using console commads would literally do this faster and better. This way however gives you the accomplishment of beating the system and feel like you have earned the reward of leveling fast
Also the addition of mods keeps making the Bethesda games alive with some much different additions that others don't

Get enchanting up first then use enchant a ring a necklace a helmet and gauntlets with fortify alteration that way you don’t have to wait and you can do it pretty early

Skyrim is the best game on switch! And in a way it is multiplayer because you can talk to people in real life about why it's the best game ever.

HellCat i go from the thieves guild marker to the understone keep and that travel is a day+ so i just kept doing it til i got to 96
I think Volkihar doesn't work because the only way you can travel to it is by using a boat. Granted, Solstheim also requires a boat, but it's probably why it doesn't work as the player instead TPs there, while other areas work on a travel system based on normal NPC, horse, or dragon speed.
Edit: Looking back on it, it could also be why you need to remove all weight before using the boat, too.

You can do it without the shout. Just takes a few more trips across the map and picking up a few more items since you drop them part way through the journey.
Already knew about the no arcana glitch giving you unlimited constant usage, but didn’t know I could have saved so much time grinding by just *waiting* lol

@@karlplessius1300 yeah I used to have a corded Xbox controller cause I was tired of charging the battery, and I just happened to come across this power one day and think to myself “wow, I can finally use telekinesis for longer than 5 seconds.” So I used it to pick up one of neloths things, don’t remember what it was only that I held the spell for longer than a minute and the thing still kept the spell up.
Long story short found out about a new *feature* and abused it by wrapping the cord around my controller, and then proceeded to get my alteration to legendary 20.
It was quite honestly, the closest equivalent to magic for my child brain.
I just use the alchemy/enchant glitch to make robes of each type to reduce mana cost to 0 or give myself a few thousand mana to train with. Illusion and destruction was always easiest/fastest to level I thought until this video found me.

Telekinesis can be found at any level in the cage in Redwater Den. You don't even need to be doing the dawnguard ql, just go there
Reminds me of the fortify resto glitch where you can make a potion worth (insert random 600 numbers here) and level it up making potions with the cheapest ingrediants

I literally just started a new play through yesterday for the first time in months and now I'm getting recommended amazing exploit and glitch videos like this to help me progress faster and I love it.
Imagine how people will have been in shock, to see that from Whiterun to Solitude he carried a bowl all the way, that is complete concentration. These are the recommendations that I like on TH-cam.

Fun fact: if you’re casting a spell that behaves similarly to flames, sparks, telekinesis (or any other spell that casts constantly when you hold down the button) and then use the same ability used in this video, you’ll be able to cast it for no magicka cost even after the effect “ends”. Not sure if it works in more recent versions of the game but back on ps3 it was great

if you dont stop using a spell, secret of arcana doesn’t go away (lightning storm/telekinesis), so i would just hold it for several minutes to level up

This game holds so many memories
I like how these "3 seconds" only come after hours and hours of grinding.
The only grinding is for the black book to give the cost-less mana power. So if you’re speed running, like 20-30 minutes from a fresh file. If you want to experience the game like a sane person, than yea, about an hour after and hour.
@@motodog242 Seriously? This character had the entire map uncovered and was level 93. Barring mods or the console, and seeing that his gear is either unenchanted, or really poorly enchanted, that means he's invested hours wandering the map and doing quests (or grinding) at least up to level 50. Even if he used the horse glitch. There are much faster ways to level and max by using enchanting and alchemy.
Saying that like you're gonna level alteration naturally. Only reason to do any leveling on it is to get more overall levels for perks.

@@cnppreactorno.4965 you do realise you can just make 4 trash pieces of armor with those enchants right? Also you only wear those 4 enchanted pieces of armor when you level up with that glitch. Once you finish leveling you take that armor off and put on your proper armor.

Fun fact: You can also do the similar thing for Destruction skill if you have the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim.
You just need the Unbound Storm spell that can be found in Hob's Fall Cave, just cast and hold the spell then quickly open the map and fast travel somewhere far. That's it, no other things required.
I like how you've made the Alteration skill tree legendary over 6+ times prior to this overpowered glitch lol
Here is a tip: if you are actively casting a spell such as wall of frost when secret of arcana ends, the spell will not consume magika until you stop. However, the spell will still give you experience. This means that you can just activate secret of arcana and hold down the mouse with a focus spell in the magic school you want to level.
It is important to note that destruction spells must be cast on creatures to gain experience so I would use it on a essential npc or shadow mere. Also, the higher the magika per second, the faster you will level up.
Man, if you enchant 4 items, with enchantment that reduces mana to cast destruction spells, by 25% each, you get infinite mana. The same can be apply to conjuration spells.

Damn, its faster to use since my way of doing it by enchanting 4 items with 25% less magic cast. When putting them on, u waste no mp at all. Then I just use telekinesis on a item and the rest is history.
