Work of beauty from both players... Love how Ali's still keep his smile on at the end when he lost and also how happy Paul was. Very exciting moments to say the least... Great squash!
I mean he is smiling because he's in disbelief on his last shot and not calling a let LMAO
Class pair of players and sportsmen 😎
What a game from two awesome champions. Respect to both Paul and Ali ... you are both true ambassadors for the sport. Brilliant squash, brilliant sportmanship.
What a time to witness the sport! Farag's inimitability, Coll's relentlessness... We're not going to see a better sportsman than Farag.
All credit to the players and to the Squash TV crew too. I greatly appreciate how they edit the commentary so that the speakers can finish what they are saying even though the coverage has moved on to a different scene or to a repeat of the action. The commentators are world class and have very informative and entertaining things to say. Well done all. Keeps bringing me back.
Really happy for Paul Coll, but what a gentlemanship from Farag. Incredible match!
This squash match was okay, it’s not as good as the Shorbagy brother’s match
5:46 the delay in swing is such a useful weapon from Coll. He's used it a few times so far in this video alone. It really throws off Farag who looks to rely on the timing of the shot.
Colls accuracy is unbelievable at times. Great sportsmanship from Faraq and both playing through traffic without complaining. Younger players take notice !!
This is great! I got really excited towards the end. It reminds me of Power vs. Nicol. Squash needs matches like this!
Superb match, great sportsmanship!! Special shout out to Rob Owen … clearly changed something with Coll .. he’s reborn! Love the delayed stroke and ‘fake’ with the head on the short balls . Very Mr Owen !! 👋👋. I remember it well 😃
Glad to see the effort to play a winner on that last shot...even if it cost him the match. These guys can be leaders to the younger players on how to trust that the better player can play through traffic and be okay, good sport, and successful...even if it doesn't work out your way every time.
Coll so sharp, but Farag so gracious in defeat.
Love to see it. Paul is the true model for the game right now IMO.
What a match, both perfect gentlemen, absolute beauty🎉❤
paul coll is a legend
This final was the first full match I've watched in a loooong time. I had a feeling it was going to be good. What a game!
Insane! Congrats to both! Want to know what they said to each other at the end!!!!!
Best form I've seen Coll in since he was No. 1. Superb defence and accurate attacks keeping Farag guessing and under pressure
Only watched the highlights of this and the semi vs. Mo. more variation in Colls game played at the right time (drops, trickles, good holds) which people argue he needs to consistently mix it with the top top guys. Just enough to keep you on your toes. He’s in some form for sure.
What a rivalry these two are creating, it's so good for squash.
From the highlights, zero interference. Great to see clean squash and good sportsmanship from these two great players.
Yep, only twice the whole match did I see either player seek a stroke, and most of the calls were quite good.
I really enjoy both these players. Games played in good spirit, great shots applauded by each other and good sportsmanship throughout. Gimme more!!!!
Both great players..... AND the most important Is that both practice the fair play.....
I love these guys. What a match.
kind of game where both players are winners at the end. great squash.
I am a big fan of Farag, but Coll is also legend.
Recently he is invincible.
Great game!
Great sportsmanship from both players. Acknowledging good shots from both
The commentary following the move at 5:26 has to be some of the best PSA commentary content ever 😅😅😅
The Top 6 is so interesting. Farag is number 1 in everyone's mind I'm sure. But who is number 2? Elias is probably the most consistently good, but never beats Farag. Asal's peak is the highest but he cannot sustain it. Coll is the only guy who can beat Farag and it not be a miracle, but then has no dominance against Asal, Elias and co. Gawad is injured now but when he's on he is one of the few who looks capable of beating Farag. MoSho has had the best historical peak but has been a bit below his standard for a couple of years.
Agreed, but I feel Elias is starting to dip a bit against Coll. At the moment, Asal and Coll seem to be the biggest threats to Farag. If Coll can prove he can take on Asal 2.0 (Willstrop Asal), it might be his return to number 1 next season.
Bro MoSho is def top 3
@@ahk2827 I think MoSho is the 6th best tbh
Age has caught up with MoSho. I like the change in his character, UK citizenship. MoSho still has fire in his belly to win before he retires. But I'm afraid his peak is not sufficient to beat the current 1-2-3. Both Faraq and Coll are highly worth ambassadors for the sport.
Asal 2.0 (re-born and less blocking after serving suspensions) is still very much the wizard of skill and imagination. For such a large and arguably heavier than ideal player (compared his bodyweight/height to Faraq, Coll, Elias, MoSho), Asal moves with tremendous agility and speed often creating "How did he do that?" highlight reels.
Gawad is injured again? That’s too bad. Gawad (if healthy), Farag, Coll and Asal (if his head’s on right) look pretty even, with results depending who’s on form and has a better draw, and the court conditions (I.e. fast or slow).Elias seems to have improved a bit too, so he might be right there too, but needs to beat Farag.
Coll has really been playing well...a lot more attacking volleys mixed with relentless retrieval, even when he falls to the ground. He and Farag are the best right now.
What a treat match to watch from two of the finest players sportsmen gentlemen of the game. My heart kept pounding all the time over the side wall clings the lobs the tricks the kills the lines the lengths.
Brilliant performance from both players. Top quality squash 😊😊😊
This one will go into the books as a classic 100%
Unbelievable game by two unbelievable players and people
Incredible match
I really like the way this courts plays for spectators. Hopefully the Olympics has something similar.
Great game congrats to Coll. 2 greats champions.
both are great champions!!! excellent game of squash!!!
Such a exhilarating game😍😍😍
Love seeing these two play! Great torchbearers for squash for the next gen!
Nice one Paul! And credit to Ali, what a player, what a human being.
Well done Paul what an incredible effort and amazing pick ups!
My god, what a fantastic match, top class players, no Asal bullshit. This is an absolute Olympic class effort.
always look forward to watching farag v coll. two absolute gents & amazing ambassadors for the game. theyve had some epic battles over the years, but this one ism hands down the best. matches like this can rival any hollywood blockbuster. gripping stuff.
how amazing was this?!?!?!?!
Boy that was high quality squash! Consistently tight shots, both players, even when under pressure.
Wonderful squash. Such a pleasure to watch the quality and the attitude.
Coll played really well. He is only guy capable of beating Ali Farag. Whole match was played with such a great sportsman spirit. Coll is only guy who does not allow Ali to contriol the T. Thats why he alwasy take Ali to very end and beat him often. Coll was just too accurate and played agressive. Pity I did not book the ticket in advance in HK to watch it live. Missed meeting Ali. I remember meeting him in 2019 and talking to him for long time. A true gentleman Ali.
Unbelievable match
Great squash and two great players! A game played in the best spirit and amazing to watch. Farag is a true sportsman and well deserved for Coll.
Go Cole, you were magnificent again!
Magnanimous of Faraq not to ask for a let or stroke...
Farag is incredible and it's hard to nitpick, but I think he could be even more dominant if he hated losing a little more.
Coll was always fit & fast, and has been consistent for years, but this quality of shotmaking is new. Catching Farag twice with boasts from the back, not sure how many players have ever done that! Maybe Hesham.
It was the time for PC👍🫶GREAT game....from both players❤
Clean hitting at times by coll
There is a noticeable change in the game of topplayers ever since Asal joined the high ranks. The forehand power shots of Asal gave him many points on the scoreboard. I definitely see more powershots the last year or so. Especially with players like Coll. Fantastic match btw.!!!
Both have been world no. 1. It seems that for quite some time, one dominated while the other was not at his peak. Looks like here they were both at their best.
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you guys
These two are the best players in squash. Never mind results, etc, it's all about how the game is played and the quality. No tantrums, no arguments, and two players who genuinely respect each other. I love watching these two play each other. Well done, Paul, keep going!
Finally Coll has brought the attack and variation to his game that he was lacking. Its wonderful to see such good sportsmen play the game. Congrats to Coll on beating the magnificent Farag
Два крутейших игрока! Отличный сквош! ♥
"The biggest skid-mark I've ever seen!" Made me chuckle!
Buenísimo !!!!
impresionante el rendimiento de cool
Magical...
Clean squash, love to see it. Last point Farag could have easily fished and constructed a stroke but played on.
Respect to Farag for his respect...
Ali Farag is class. He compliments other players when they have a great shot. I cannot say the same for Cole.
Great match. What a great person Ali Farag is in defeat. Something he rarely experiences.
🎉🎉🎉
Top match.
brutal
The greatest squash match ever ?
Yes!
Very good match
I like when these two play the final
But still Paris 23 is the best for me
Perfect players
fantastoc sportmanship
It takes some effort to beat Faraq who is like a spider and can cover the court so easily. A great and well deserved win for Coll.
блииин Али сам себя подвел, Фараг не хотел создавать опасный момент
@squashtv Just want you to know, for your entertainment, that at one point during this match replay you can just barely hear Joey say off-mic, "I've literally just split my pants!" and everyone else laughing hysterically.
Too many comments with "but Farag.." just say "and Farag". You cant take anything away from Paul on this one.
Fabulous match. Full on contest.
However.. A white ball on a white and light blue court doesn't work on TV. Why are we not seeing a different colour ball if they persist with white/blue courts?
6:28
So sad to see Asal did not reach the final....
What happened at the end of game 1 - can someone explain?
Coll was calling for a look at farags movement off the ball, blocking him from access to the ball.
Great match...I think diving is ok but can see how it can be very distracting for an opponent when someone's close by and dives but easy to get distracted and miss your shot.....you can't be sick during a squash match or you forfeit..if something falls from your pocket it's a loss of the point....but you can slide along the floor and spoil the floor ...if you can't get to the ball without diving on the floor the rally prob has to be stopped because it goes to that area of the court once again then that's ok and it's a let. Not sure that's right...
Recoveryyyyyyy 😅😅😅😅
How do I give 2 thumbs up?
Coll was brilliant throughout the match, but IMO he got lucky in the last game. Nonetheless, the only man who can compete and beat Farag atm is Coll and none other. Farag can not gas him out similar to how all others can't gas Farag out.
I always wonder why people dont play the straight drive off the drops from the front. Can put your opponents off balance with how unexpected it can be, instead of the orthodox crosscourt drive.
I believe - at least at my low level - it is often the case of footwork going into the front corner. When I rush straight to the ball and reach a lot (if the drop is good) I worry I won't be able to clean the path enough if I play straight. Crosscourt lob seems to be the most intuitive solution if you are in recovery mode
@dzimi2233 nice explanation, makes sense
Another reason not to straight drive, is that if your opponent gets into position to hit it properly, it turns into a strok (a lot!)
@antonybateson9060 yeah, I suppose, still, can pull it out of the bag from time to time
The textbook is to avoid a straight drive in order not to give the opponent a chance to get awarded a stroke if they are in position to play it. I like that return as it partially obscures the ball until it is past the player. Only then can the opponent see the drive hugging the wall and respond to it. It takes away time from the opponent. Racquet prep is the same for straight wall drive and cross court. Only the follow through reveals the swing path and the opponent would only hear the sound first before seeing the swing path.
All that chatter on here about Ali being unbeatable. Not so! Great game from both players. Love that Ali can lose a game like that and still smile
How could you keep this sport and level of ferocious competition out of Olympics. Shame on you Olympics committee.
I'm tired just watching it.
Paul is very dangerous with Rod Martin's coaching
Lovely match. The two players have a way of bringing out the best in each other.
That said is all the screaming from the commentators really necessary? Don't see how it adds to the excitement of the game. It's a squash match not WWE wrestling.
This is exactly what we wanted to see from the psa scene. not the cheating clown.
Poor decision at 6 6 in the final game as Coll was losing that rally, dived and then got the ref to stop the game while he was under pressure and the ball was no where near the sweat mark on the floor
Wanted Farag to win. Coll is a boring player zzzzzzzzzzzzz
there was nothing boring about that game, i think you just dont support Coll so you make a stupid comment like that
@@2610gk he thinks Coll's game is boring because he's not a squash player. he's not knowledgeable enough to know the subtleties with Coll's game. Like you said, nothing boring about his game.
Great sportsmanship and masterful squash
