What a freaking match!!!! Lisa is 10000% right easily the best match I've seen in years, if not ever, period. It reminded me of the WC14 final between Ramy and Elshorbagy. Glad to have Farag back

I'd been feeling squash hadn't had an amazing match in a while, plenty of good ones but no truly amazing ones. Damn, did this one make up for it! Awesome to have Farag back on the tour.

What an incredible match between two of the most honest players on tour. It's great to see this free flowing squash again. As for the no let in the third game, Farag had been in an almost identical situation a few shots before (9:15) and was able to play a very good cross.
Similar, but if you look coll does move across more in the no let situation when that is definitely a let ball due to safety as coll moves right and Ali moves left.
@@fanatamon I had to watch it 4 5 times, and the angle is not the best. I think Farag waited quite a lot on the purpose of getting a stroke, not a let.
@@fabriziopassamonti6375 yeh but he the striker is fully allowed to take as long as they want to play the ball, it simply was good safe practice for Farag to not play the ball and after 25yrs of playing squash at a high level I would have done exactly what farag did for safety.
Oh my goodness. I couldn't believe this match. Farag and Coll. Such great players. So glad to have em' in the sport.
If there are two classier players on the PSA tour in the men's game, I don't know who they are. A match played with exceptional skill, determination, fitness, mental strength and respect. THIS is the best of sport.

What a match. Coll is playing like 2 years back. But best part if SportsMan ship from Farag. He is gem. Having met him personally in HK. He is so humble and calm.

I've just watched to the the end of game 3. Why no let at the end? Did the referee not think Farag would make a return??? Doesn't look good.

Looks like Farag is back on his way to number 1, playing at such a high level while still recovering from his injury. This was a fun match to watch, easy to root for both players.

Yes I think there are more comments here than those other wonderful olympic sports...curling, ping pong, synchronized dancing (synchronized anything) skateboarding, badminton, bowling, etc.

Unfortunately the 'no let' that ended the 3rd game was just so silly and from the referees, defies logic on so many levels. What a great match from them. Paul was on song and Ali worked him all over the place, played in good spirit as per always with these two. So good to see.
Semis prove that best of 5 is SOOOOOO much better than best of three. Please get rid of that format.
But recent history shows that 5 sets through the tournament mean players arrive injured and /or exhausted at the semis and finals.
@@hokicoki But can you imagine what classics we could have gotten from Mo-Willstrop, Mo-Farag (debatable since Mo seems injured), Coll-Gawad (and potentially a few more) if it had been best of 5?
But no doubt the quality of the semis and finals will be diminished slightly.
That NO LET at the end of 3rd set though. Yes, he could have played it, but he didn't see it well so he stopped for safety reason. I don't think he should have been punished for that. He could have played that ball easily.
Sad to see but 100% no let. Coll cleared the way fairly.

Your last sentence sums up why it's a no let.
No stroke fishing , should be a simple safety let. Otherwise doing cross court 5-10x on such situation will probably drill one onto opponent body ior face in the future. Why instigate hostile squash ......
My initial reaction was LET (for safety), then checked slow-mo and yes, Ali had a whole front wall available, so NO LET was correct.
The no let at the end of the third game was disappointing. It was further disappointing to see the video ref not seeing the intent behind not playing the shot. If farag had taken a chance and hit the opponent he would have been punished for playing a dangerous shot. Usually it is given a safety let. But every one here played dumb. Cool could have shown some sportsmanship and intervened but he also decided to play along for the prize.

Took a while to get the gillenhall semifinal out, as they probably had to edit out out too many refereeing mistakes. The finished video showed a game played almost without controversy, and so well refereed.
