If I could add to the discussion about the technology in the courts I think a good addition would be if they could make a touch sensitive tin line because far too often I hear “we can’t check the tin”.
It's been attempted in the past. I believe there was difficulty making the sensor sensitive enough to pick up a slight clipping of the tin while not being so sensitive that the vibration off the front wall set it up. I wonder if it would be possible to just have a camera oriented directly along the top of the tin that could give a clear shot of whether the ball touched it or not, though, so that the calls could be reviewed.
@@georgekrumm1857 yeah my other thought was why isn’t there some kind of hawk eye simulation that can be used as a review. Refereeing is such a hard job to get everything right anyway let alone having to have 20/20 vision and super focus to see if it clipped the tin or not. The technology is there in tennis so idk why it’s not in the highest level of squash matches.
