It's a hard ship to make work in general. You can do a cool Raddus drop thing or make a super buff with Agate. But every time I used one I felt it was less effective than AF2's. Luckily Ion Radio is all about fun lists not meta!
Finally a new video! Would it have been possible for Ken to alpha strike and then positioned his squad ball for better protection? Also the frigate torryn is on should be in front in order for Ken to maximise the effects from her? Just a thought #madness
I know that "Assault Frigate Hyperspace" feeling. Pulled a very similar maneuver during a store championship. Had a Motti Kuat bearing down on me, sped up to avoid it... and zipped on off the board when I didn't have another nav queued up. Got the table but that was 100+ points of freebies I gave up. So you're not alone, Ken!
As soon as I looked at my command stack, I realized the mistake I made. Ha. Oh well. All part of trying to defeat John by using unorthodox tactics. Flying ships off the board does not work. :) - Ken
Watching this made me want the MC-80 Independence to be just slightly more justifiable. Speed 4 x-wings but also yt-1300's and Fen Rau to carry the ability to other fighters. But its scary to dump that many points into the pickle these days unless you really plan to protect it. 😅
Wholeheartedly agree here. I would use the MC80 much more often if it was either faster or just a little better. Independence is a title I have been wanting to play with more as of late... - Ken
Honestly, time is the enemy. With every video we create, this is usually the first and only time I fly a commander or fleet. For me personally, I need 1 or 2 plays to get good at using a fleet. This is something I do not have time to do. John is also much better at deployment than I am. This can be the key to setting yourself up to win or lose a game. Having said all that, I'm just happy to be playing miniature games with friends. - Ken

A great squadron battle. GAR squadrons combined with the faction's token generation are brutal. Ken's formation was solid sadly republic aces with Yularen are even more durable. #madness
This was a great game! I remember one of you making a comment about new Draven being quite good - I would love to see a game with him, and see how it plays out! #madness
Draven had a few changes, so we will see another episode in Season 8 with Ken flying him. John should be using the new version of Draven in the finale of this season.
Nice game , keep up the good work. Watching your battle reports pretty much helped me learn how to play the game from scratch, hope it helps many other players out there as well.

I almost wish the MC80s had new cardboard like the ISDs do. A good way to get IF or other fleet commands could be good
