Enormous respect for what Tony is doing on this BC. Proving it to himself is the best reason and I can relate being 46 and sticking to the typical bag. Git it while ya can! I look forward to Saturday...

Clayton Brown how much popularity skateboarding has a direct correlation to the quality of the videos and the amount of nbds that go down. The more people that skate means there’s more to push the envelope. So it matters how big it is

This will probably get over looked and I never comment but I got to say this.
I'm 28 years old followed skating since day 1 my brother skated in his teens in mid 80s my dad skated mid 70s and surfed. My dad and brother showed me a old skate video with young tony hawk like maybe 16-20 with a mini street clip him doing like a sketchy kickflip off a 4 stair in a sketchy black tar top parking lot and on the left side of the stair was a long bank, after kick flipping off the stair he hit the bank and honestly I forgot what trick it was. But besides that and the moral of the story is this is the 2nd time in my 28 yrs seeing him do a little street part. Known for vert but can still throw a solid line on the street game. We lost alot of great ones recently but I'm very blessed we still have the HAWK 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I just want to see Tony Hawk doing his thing.
There’s already so many great technical skateboarders out there. In my opinion, the truly great ones make you want to go out and skate.
And let’s be honest with ourselves. Knowing Tony Hawk is still skateboarding, after all he’s done for skateboarding, makes us want to go out and skate.
To me, that’s more than enough to keep him there amongst the greatest skateboarders of today.

    • @camaro25
      @camaro25 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What else can you say. The dude is a legend in the skate community. There is no bigger name associated with skating more than Tony Hawk. Like you said, there are more tech skaters out there, but to just see Tony step out of his element and try tricks he's scared of on street that could potentially injure him at his age, then that just raises his awesomeness even more.

Recent Tony Hawk videos literally made me seek my 30 year old, heavy, wide, almost-broken, now-called-old-school-board at age 44 and do my very first ollie after several weeks of trying hard in my basement; visit a skate park for the first time in my life; survive rolling down a ramp for the first time; trying to understand words like "fakie" and "switch"; finding myself looking at the entrance area of my employer and thinking "aah this spot looks extremely skateable"; trying to find a small spot in the filled calendar to fit half an hour of skating in between work and family once in a month; Being a total nerd; coming home with a glowing red face from the heat but grinning like mad; being looked at by the neighbors like "Aha - now he's gone totally nuts - we always knew".
Those videos are a true source of inspiration.
Also wanting to "do a kickflip"; thanks, Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Daewon Song, The Berrics and all the others!

Tony Hawk man... The ripper the legend, the goat, the guy who made me say when i was young as hell i wanna be able to do that, got into vert fairly a little older about 9ish 10 years old area, can't not visit a park without hitting up the transition no where near as good as you my dude but your whole career as a skater motivates and pushes me further and further everyday i hope i can still skate when I'm getting close to that "time" where i should probably give it up.. Long ways from now and you sir still got a long way to go also, it's not that easy giving it up I can't really even imagine me without a board beneath my feet
Thank you Tony for inspiring me to never throw that one thing I've come to love, away.

This entire week has made me want to buy a PSone with the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. I've also never been so stoked on a Battle Commander. The only good thing I've had to look forward to this week. Thank you Tony Hawk for changing the game!

It was killer Tony! 360 over the hip! k-grind the ledge! Birdhouse Ravers was the first skate video I ever saw. My best friend and I stole it from his sister's boyfriend when we were 13 in 1993. Still is one of my favorite vids. Legend!

I'm sitting here with a swollen hip and several other sore bits after a small sesh tonight, at 44 years I know it's gonna hurt for at least a week, affect my workaand do further damage. I hope I can still just roll around at 51 and be content with that.
Full props to Tony for doing this.

I LOVE THIS. GREW UP TO TONY HAWK!!! I was more into the whole street skate scene in the early 2000s, back when shortys how to go pro came around but I loved Tony’s innovation to skateboarding. But Tony Cawk is low key looking like Fox Mulder on Californication 😆

The fact that a man of his age is still crushing such a enduring physical sport, is an inspiration. Shows if you don’t stop, your body won’t give in.

Very inspiring. I’m only 34 but I’m fixated on the idea that it’s all downhill from here but seeing hawk skating like this gives me hope.✊

I'm so looking forward to this. Hawk was such an inspiration when I started skating and has always been. It really hits close to home when he said that he can do it now but wont be able pretty soon. I'm 38 and Im skating more than I've had in the last 15 years (started in 1990) I want to do as much as possible because I know I wont be able to do it somewhat soon. Is this BC going to be released at midnight EST??
