You can see in his eyes how worried he is that Lan Zhan's love to Wei Wuxian will bring him pain (and it happenes eventually, both physically and emotionally 😭) but he's aware there's nothing that could stop Lan Zhan. The moment he gets beaten Xichen realizes how great Wangji's love must be if it makes him resist their uncle and everything he taught them and accept punishment instead of rejecting the man of his dreams. I think Lan Xichen might be angry with Wei Ying because of all the difficulties he caused in Lan Wangji's life but at the same time, he's ready to help him at all cost. He even tries talking Wei Ying into quitting demonic cultivation to save him and therefore his brother. Later he hides him in the Cloud Recesses when the whole world is hunting for him. He's such a supportive big brother and I love him so much for it 😭❤️
