The amount of effort that must've gone into making this look effortless is just astounding, such a variety of patterns, textures, melodies, harmonies, vocals, drums, transitions. some massive talent at work there, it's so great to see this in the "mainstream"
Its called bass music, and while Skrillex's album is very very good, it barely scratches the surface of what Bass Music contains. And no, we dont want bass music in the mainstream.
I BELIVE THIS VIDEO IS AN ICON PEOPLE WELL STILL LISTIN TO IT AFTER 20 OR 30 YEARS; EVEN MORE IT'S A REFERNCE AND EXAMPLE OF HOW DANCE MUSIC AND DJING SHOULD BE SKRILLEX IS JUST INCREDIBLE A TRUE LEGEND
PROPS TO THE CAMERA MAN!!!! this 1 take shoot + extra movement?? man, you're a beast! Edit: my bad, it's not 1 take shoot. but still, a long take with that movement was pretty exhausting. 😁😁
I don't think actually 1 take cause there is some really close up to the DJ control maybe gets some smooth cut on that. but yeah just incredible with that extra movement synchronize to the beat even though its not perfect like on the Inhale Exhale part both sonny and cameraman were little bit early I don't know why I find that really funny.
From the scary monsters era, to jack u era, to this 2 albums era, we can agree on one thing: Sonny's snare game remains unmatched. edit: yes recess definitely slaps but lets be real jack u era was smth else. that "funny" snare get him his biggest collab with bieber, another grammy and a beef with deadmau5 💀
I'm absolutely at awe at this guy. I could be in a techno phase, old school hip hop phase, drum n bass, dub, metal or punk phase, but somehow I always get pulled back into his realm. There's dubstep and there's SKRILLEX! He covered so many genres in this album and managed to combine every possible type of music with his own sound seamlessly.
Genre labels are just expectations or categories based mostly on opinions, just close your eyes and listen, without listening for something specific that you expected.
I will never able to properly explain how much I love this man's music. The new album is also coming out on my sister's birthday, who's first (and still) musical love was Skrillex. Thank you for existing Sonny. Thank you so much.
Besides the incredible music and his skill to mix and master his songs I also want to give props to the people giving us such a cinematic and immersive DJ set I have never experienced before. It just fits with Sonnys visionarity.
This is hands down one of the best DJ sets I've heard lately, regardless of genre! Holy shit... And to think it's actually promoting an album! What an outstanding performance! This is production and DJ Olympus right here.
@@morandynavarrovaldes like the first third to half of the mix is literally deep dubstep remixes. And the second half is like more bass house and other stuff. Not much trap imo. But I do understand especially with hybrid trap, how the line can be blurred

Not sure if you were around or listening to music when Monsters & Sprites hit in 2010, but he single handily brought a whole new language to music with how he used warped FM and Wavetable synthesis. I created patch libraries I sell at my site inspired by the sounds Skrillex was creating. Yes, he continues to hone his skills and his production has definitely gone up quite a few notches... and every album he's done is like a Jim Carrey movie role, something nobody else could pull off, but to be clear, bro, he was authentic 10 years ago. I'm a 58 year old proud to say Skrillex is a special artist among artists.
I mean, depends how many years you mean here. Not a big change since he started dubstep - just tied his hair and grew a short beard now. Since he was in an emo band? Yeah, that is quite some change in the looks.

@@ChristopherWoods same and you're point....?
@@heavysnow-ee4gg likewise, wasn't sure what point you were getting at in your reply...
Skrillex has transcended his level, simply he’s from another dimension
This man is the picasso of EDM, I actually feel blessed to have followed this guys journey ever since I was a teenager, this is a perfect culmination of everything he has ever learned, it is an absolute master piece
I CAN NOT STOP!!!!
REPEAT ALL DAY

Listened to this 10 times already. Can't wait for the album.
Aww, an Andrew in the wild
Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers. (jk love you Andrew)

Only 10?
Happy album day!
Not a single second of disappointment, not a single second regretted. Such a diverse producer. Album's gonna be 🔥🔥 Glad you're back Sonny. Its been a while 😭
Skrillex is unbelievable his production is out of this world
just talanted man. talented. only the beats and simple lyrices make you feel the vibe. you are the best DJ who can freely express yourself with that beat
"masterizando" 🤣🤣🤣
@@ADFmex The spanglish is strong with this one
@@ADFmex ?
Honestly could listen to inhale / exhale back to back for hours.
I keep going back to it, I'm glad the video is timestamped. On Friday it goes on Repeat.
Same with Good Space 🌌
I think I already have lol
Yea that bass drop beat is disgustingggg
i don’t think any of us realise how good his production actually is
He’s just being a Dj. Give credit to the actual producers of the tracks he’s playing
@Rojam Marshalles those are all his tracks bro
good point tho, usually people think the DJs produce

Damn bro we live the same life.
10 years ago he was good. I saw him live at EDC Dallas in 2011 before the fire department shut the set down but this is absolute god level
got to see him a month ago. i did cry
Where?
This is INSANE. Can hear a few little sounds from your old dubstep songs in a few of these too 👀
skrill and porter were such a big part of my youth, I cant put into words how happy this makes me
Skrillex is such an inspiration - especially his recent journey ... when I make a mixture of genres (Electro Baroque), the EDM energy comes from Skrillex
Hey Skrillex, I just trully hope you are as happy as we are. You know, I was alone in my room when your set came out. Now I'm jumping and smiling. Later, I will be jumping and smiling with my friends hearing your set. Thank you for make me feel this way.
10 years later and I still am just as moved by this man's skills as I was then. ❤
10 years ago I loved and craved for his music. I don't like that style of filthy Dubstep now but now, I love and crave for what he does here/now XD this guy a legend to me.

10:31 that warped tour recording made me feel things
He's got all the genres under control
Yup, im a huge fan of hardstyle and hardcore, i dont remember which song he did where there was a short but sudden hardcore drop and kick, it was so pure, and clean. he is so talented😬
@@TheDyrehauge 6:25?
@@guillem99 that is cool but i remember it harder, although it might have been Dylan Brady im thinking of, not sure. But that sounds good, more like psytrance or something tho in my opinion, but thanks😁

I'm sorry that I ever thought you fell off. Good musicians never die.
Long live Sonny!!!

The amount of effort that must've gone into making this look effortless is just astounding, such a variety of patterns, textures, melodies, harmonies, vocals, drums, transitions. some massive talent at work there, it's so great to see this in the "mainstream"
well said next level composition all levels - mint
Thats Skrillex, always has been
Its called bass music, and while Skrillex's album is very very good, it barely scratches the surface of what Bass Music contains. And no, we dont want bass music in the mainstream.
@@largefatherbassmusic it's too niche to ever make it mainstream again like we kind of had with early dubstep/brostep

A TRUE LEGEND
PROPS TO THE CAMERA MAN!!!! this 1 take shoot + extra movement?? man, you're a beast!
Edit: my bad, it's not 1 take shoot. but still, a long take with that movement was pretty exhausting. 😁😁
The camera man is the goat!
I don't think actually 1 take cause there is some really close up to the DJ control maybe gets some smooth cut on that. but yeah just incredible with that extra movement synchronize to the beat even though its not perfect like on the Inhale Exhale part both sonny and cameraman were little bit early I don't know why I find that really funny.
its not 1 take, you can see a nicely blended cut at 18:30 for example. Still very impressive visuals, excellent work by cam op!
Yeah there is a lot of good editing here in so jelly haha wish I could get it like they do.
It really looks like 1 long take 🙌🔥🔥
From the scary monsters era, to jack u era, to this 2 albums era, we can agree on one thing: Sonny's snare game remains unmatched.
edit: yes recess definitely slaps but lets be real jack u era was smth else. that "funny" snare get him his biggest collab with bieber, another grammy and a beef with deadmau5 💀
It's like diplo said "My favorite drum producer is Skrillex, people think his sounds are the greatest but he's one of the best drum mixers ever..."
most djs are pretending to spin tables, sonny went from rock music to a mpc player
Bro forgot about Recess
No love for Recess? 👽
Recess > Jack U
I'm absolutely at awe at this guy. I could be in a techno phase, old school hip hop phase, drum n bass, dub, metal or punk phase, but somehow I always get pulled back into his realm. There's dubstep and there's SKRILLEX! He covered so many genres in this album and managed to combine every possible type of music with his own sound seamlessly.
I could not have expressed how I feel about skrillex as well as you did here. I'm glad I have one or two people that are just like me on this one🔥🔥🔥
@@imusingmymomsandroid2375 Agreed, perfectly put.

@@morandynavarrovaldes like the first third to half of the mix is literally deep dubstep remixes. And the second half is like more bass house and other stuff. Not much trap imo. But I do understand especially with hybrid trap, how the line can be blurred
This honestly sounds like flume but just a Skrillex and refined version
Watched it and listened from beginning to an end. What an incredible work of DJ himself, camera man and lights. Thank ya'll. That's definetly one of the greatest sets. So inspirational.

@@buttstevens2758 thank you for the input, buttstevens
Not sure if you were around or listening to music when Monsters & Sprites hit in 2010, but he single handily brought a whole new language to music with how he used warped FM and Wavetable synthesis. I created patch libraries I sell at my site inspired by the sounds Skrillex was creating. Yes, he continues to hone his skills and his production has definitely gone up quite a few notches... and every album he's done is like a Jim Carrey movie role, something nobody else could pull off, but to be clear, bro, he was authentic 10 years ago.
