Thank you so much. I’m a first time home buyer strapped for cash and this video helped tremendously. This was my exact problem and took under 2 minutes to fix and was free.
my exact issue! I'm f'ing subbing this guy. You have no idea how pissed I was getting with this happening over Thanksgiving holidays and i'm trying to relax.
I have the a similar problem with my kitchen faucet. When I turned off the hot water line valve, it stopped dripping, so I called my Plumber,. They came over and did the same test while I was watching him. He looked on my counter top and said that some of the grout was cracked and that the water must be coming from that. They charged me $99.00 for that diagnosis. The next day the dripping started again. I called a friend that works on this kind of problem. He's really busy but he said that he'll find some time to come over to look at it. ** I didn't feel comfortable about the diagnosis from the Plumber. Hopefully the dripping will stop. Nice video & Thank you!
This worked for me. I just bought a brand new built house and they installed this new moen faucet and didn’t leave me any of the warranty paperwork. I don’t even know what kind of model it is and I was having a similar issue. I decided to contact the house builders to see if it was still under warranty. To my surprise they said not covered. That I would have to call a plumber. So as I was checking pricing for a new faucet I got discouraged due to a similar one being in the 200 dollar range. So I said how about check some videos on you tube. Your video was the first one I came across that looked similar to mine and it worked! Thank you for posting this. Saved me 1-2 hundred dollars. Thank you so much 🙏
My faucet was dripping out the faucet and also under the cabinet. I was going to try replacing the cartridge (which would have fixed it because I'd have had to take that nut off and put it back on to do it). But I would've had to drive 60 miles round trip today to get the new cartridge and then go through the hassle of it. I took off the handle and found a similar nut, tightened it and the leak is fixed. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this! I thought I'd have to replace the faucet. already replaced the pull out hose that was leaking last year but couldn't figure out this problem until I found your video. The hardest thing was finding a 3/32 hex key, all I had was metric.
The real MVP right here! Thanks! I installed our Moen kitchen faucet a couple years ago. I think the handle was already attached so I didn't think about tightening the cartridge nut. That did the trick!
This fixed my problem, thanks for the help. Watched a lot of videos for this problem and this is the only video i saw that recommended to tighten the cartridge. Thought i was going to have to fiddle around with the o rings near the base, but this fixed it 100%
I did replace the moen cartridge but I think the real problem is that the packing nut got loose. I think moen changed the design of the packing nut so to keep the cartridge from stop leaking. Mizenko mailed me a free cartridge. This was a good video.
Great video . I had same issue with new glacier Bay faucet we installed just 3 months ago from home deport for $88. So I thought faucet can’t be bad this fast and sure enough after watching your video it fixed the problem in under 10 min . Thank you so much
Surprisingly, this appears to be exactly what was causing my leak too. It takes a 21 mm socket to tighten the nut. Thanks for posting this video, as it really helped me diagnose and fix my problem.
Thanks so much Steven! The only hang up for me was I initially used an allen wrench instead of a hex driver on my Moen faucet. It was as you showed the plastic nut under the handle/head that was super loose. I tightened it with the wrench and voila!
I find myself saying so many of your sayings when stuff goes on in the house. I had a tiny leak under my kitchen cabinet from where two pipes connected, which I proceeded to fix with plumbing tape...lol. It actually even held! But when I discovered it when I had to go under the sink cabinet to get out my kitchen floor cleaner, I said very loud, to myself (well, actually to my cat) “oh, boy, she’s a leaker, Mama”😂😂I thought, dang it, Steve, lol.
5 year life?! I have faucets that are flippin' 15+ yrs old.... replaced the caaaatridge in only one Grohe, easy swap. But I can't seem to get more than a few years out of the 1/4 turn sill-cock valves... they just start drippin'!
G Nels damn, I didn’t know that. I always buy Moen faucets. For the first time, a year ago, I didn’t buy a moen for my kitchen. I wanted oil rubbed bronze and couldn’t find it in moen, the look I wanted. So I had to buy Pfister. Good so far, knock wood.
Can you come to Vegas cause I need your help lol my sink don’t look like her’s but i notice the drip like she said and now it’s leaking underneath.but I don’t see the part you screwed off…my faucet head if longer. When I change the spray head is when I notice the problem and the spray was leaking first
nice. i had the same problem. tightened both the spray connection (not the issue) and then the nut under the handle, which was loose. hopefully it doesn't keep getting loose on me.
Thank you so much. I’m a first time home buyer strapped for cash and this video helped tremendously. This was my exact problem and took under 2 minutes to fix and was free.
Same 😅
@@dillonqaphsiel7977 this literally just helped me. I did it just like the video says, boom no more leak!
I had the same issue and came right to your site for a solution. Your previous videos saved me so much aggravation and $$$.

You’re the man, man! Your suggestion of the leak typically coming from the sprayer connection helped me greatly.
Thank you so much!! You saved me!! I’m a new first time homeowner and am so glad I didn’t have to call someone to fix, thank you!!
Same here, thank you so much STEVE!!!!
This fixed my problem, thanks for the help. Watched a lot of videos for this problem and this is the only video i saw that recommended to tighten the cartridge. Thought i was going to have to fiddle around with the o rings near the base, but this fixed it 100%

Thank you sir. I had the exact same issue and now I can relax knowing I don't have to replace the whole thing. You got a sub from me.

Spot on! Thank you, it only took a couple minutes to tighten. No more leaks!
This just helped me fixed my Faucet (only 6 months old) i think it was a bit loose from the manufacturer. Thank you for posting this!

What tool did you use to take the handle off?I bought little Ally keys but that doesn’t work
@@bernicemonroe7593
Just an allen wrench tool. I don't remember the exact size. But you'll see the screw once you life the handle up.
Thanks for taking us with you again Steve

Thank you for the tutorial! What size hexagonal tool did you use? I can't see into the hole!
Thank you. Helped me fix my faucet myself! You rock!

My kitchen sink has this exact problem atm. Time to go fix it! Thanks for the vid! Gave you a like!
Is that an Allen/hex key you used for the back of the faucet? I can’t seem
To get one that fits right in the little hole
To get the handle off
Worked for me once I figured out to use T10 to loosen the screw.
Great instructional video. I feel it provides enough knowledge to tackle the very same issue.
This is what I needed! so simple once you know where to look!
I love your little fur baby apprentice. ❤

"Loose As A Goose, Mama. Loose As A Goose."
Only 5 years for a faucet? I guess you get what you pay for then. Nice work and thanks for the knowledge.
Mine was simply a lose nozzle at the top. A simple hand tight.
Oh man. Saved me a ton of money
Worked for me. Easy! Thanks
I was hoping you'd find some turkey bones stuck in there lol
This did the job - Thank you for posting this!!!
I always like see your pups......
nice. i had the same problem. tightened both the spray connection (not the issue) and then the nut under the handle, which was loose. hopefully it doesn't keep getting loose on me.
I changed a faucet not to long ago the braided hose line was cracked and leaking .
Nice job Steve!
The plastic bonnet nut that holds the cartridge has a tendency to work itself loose. Ive run into it quite a few times.
You truck is a beast.... get out of the way here comes the plumber😷
