this series is incredible, please continue
Too late to add him to GG3?
Hahahah this poor dude would be so confused in GG3 god the special feature with him in it would be amazing tho!!! Just a idea soup!!!
verified OSRS channel convenes without spoiling the learning journey. Top notch.
@@weloveschool14 he wouldn't stand a chance
@@Travisqui3n i think him being on GG would ruin this series. so many “elite scapers” to rot his brain with most efficient tactics and runelite plugins
my boy saving 10 gold by teleporting to lumby from al kharid. brings a tear to my eyes. they grow up so fast
We've all been playing this game for 15 years and this is as close as any of us will get to reliving those first moments. Thank you for this.
Exactly. The only difference is that the first time most of us played RuneScape it was so much more fun without the GE, with dangerous random events, pickaxe and axe heads flying everywhere, good times.
@@baska- evil shaking tree, smoking rocks when mining, random rock golem attacks, forest nymph attacks, evil chicken attacks, troll attack when fishing...
@@kingdavey90 the shade as well! Too bad they removed those events, it was fun but bad against skillers
@@kingdavey90 Smoking rocks when mining? What about pickaxe heads randomly flying off? Lol
absolutely
Here's a hint that shouldn't ruin the integrity of the series: if you go to your skills tab you can click on each skill to get a very basic guide. It will show you what levels unlock various things and may give you a better idea of which skills to train in order to do certain types of content.
Loving the series. Keep it up.
this exact comment right here @flip
Excellent comment. No spoilers, just a period-accurate suggestion.
I used this all the time when I first started out and I wasn’t using the wiki yet, it’s so helpful!
It’s hilarious to me that this guy is basically being forced into becoming a RuneScape content creator. This is such good content and commentary I’m in love with this series pls keep ‘em coming
He's a natural born scaper; whether he likes it or not.
yup, 2 seconds in, liked the video.
Amazing vids :D i love his approach of trying to figure out stuff on his own. :D I would recommend that he goes to Draynor and talks to a guy called Morgan .
he will learn to love-hate the game like us
one of us
This is the purest and most wholesome thing that has ever come to the RuneScape community.
don’t let us veterans in the comments mess with your experience! I love seeing the raw discovery of this series. It’s fresh and eye opening
if you are looking for small pointers:
the wiki can help you with quests, the grand exchange in varrock is a center of commerce where you can buy and sell any goods. Also quests are very very fun the harder they get
I love that he doesn't use the wiki or GE. Gives it that real feeling of discovery you used to have as a kid. Keep at it 57batsibis ;)
ppl telling him to download runelite... yeah lets give the noob quest helper so he can literally not play the game and get himself to end game faster where the content is doing the same thing 50000 times
@@jujment699 I'd like to think the people that are saying to use runelite are just suggesting that it helps with Quality of life stuff thats for sure. The stat trackers help immensely imho.
@@DuskSkullin yeah they’re all helpful but the whole appeal of this series is that he hasn’t got a clue what’s going on 😂
This man said no runelite. We truly are getting an authentic new player experience boys.
If I told you how many times beginners do this same exact grind you would be mind blown. This is peak 2007 nostalgia.
2004 nostalgia for me haha
Very funny and from a fresh perspective!
I've never seen/witnessed anything like this before that is capable of bringing forth such pure nostalgia. I've been playing off and on since 2004; and even with years in between playing; I'm somehow hooked every single time. Watching your raw reactions and total noobiness to the surroundings and playthrough is the most freshening thing I never knew I needed.
I started playing around the same time and the feeling is mutual; I audibly exclaimed "Yes!" both when he discovered right-clicking and deposited all of his items into his bank for his first leather grind. Beautiful.
its like playing with your 8 yo son
Yep similar story for me, off and on, few Years off at times.
I so want to see him explore the Varrock sewage system (haven't played in 6-7 years myself, so not sure about the right name). That's where I used to go with every new 3 level account, to first train on the rats, then picking up red spider eggs and when I finally had full rune, to kill moss giants for big bones.
@@MsJondde aye don’t give him ideas I’m loving watching him learn completely from scratch lmao
It is really magical to see someone experience this game for the first time. It brings back many fond memories of when I first started playing this game as a kid.
I really appreciate that you don't cut out the parts where you are just bumbling around aimlessly, as I feel like these moments are arguably the most endearing to me.
Thank you for these two super cozy videos.
The bumbling around aimlessly is so core to the RS experience especially when you're really new. I really appreciate that he showed that off.
Bruh, you doing the quests no guide or quest helper is super fun to watch from a vet perspective.
Agreed. This is solid content.
Yes. Fuck RuneLite, keep playing as is!
Must have been wierd watching him kill that Ram while doing sheep shearer from a Vet perspective
@@doctorarden5741 I agree with not turning on quest helper, but basic stuff in RuneLite like ground it's and the GPU plugin actually allowing you to see a decent distance are massive for newer players IMO.
@@OtisJCW I don't remember if ground items already is, but increased draw distance is an option in Steam client as well as some other RL plugins.
These videos make me realize the vast amount of useless knowledge I have about a 20+ year old game I don't play anymore 😂 Loving the vids, keep em up!
Right? Like the option to burn the meat, my brain goes 'Oh yeah that's for Witch's Potion quest'
@@tums1997 Gotta keep paying the Al Kharid gate toll? Just rescue Ali, damn. Takes like 15 mins. Watch out for those aggressive npcs though!
watching you play the game without help or intervention from others or guides or wiki or youtube is a trip down nostalgia lane for most if not all of us. please keep up the amazing series. much love.
This is why im pissed that people keep telling him to get runelite. The client is useful yes, because it solves all the puzzles and mysteries of the game. Stop telling new players to get runelite. Once they are comfortable with the game, they will find it themselves when they need to get more efficient.
@@thepenmen22 exactly efficiency ruins gaming experience, just look at this video my man is out here using 5000iq big brain massive balls moves figure out how to tan hides but if he looked it up he would find the answer in 12seconds tops. but he wouldnt learn anything from that, where would the fun in that be?
like i remember back in the day when i was doing ernest the chicken i had to make a new account because i was stuck in the draynor manor for hours and hours. back then i was furious but now i look back on it with fond memories. but if i were to look it up it would not be fun.
@@yilmazzzz9044 i really regret using the wiki whilst playing :(
wish i could forget it all and learn it the hard way, would be so much more fun
@@yilmazzzz9044 Going for efficiency at the start definitely ruins it, but having played it for 15 years efficiency is part of the fun now for me
@Pabs problem is ive played an ironman using wiki a couple times now, and i remember too much :P but thank you for the suggestion
I remember playing this game just before the switch over to rs2 and suddenly everything looked different. I also remember my cousin playing too. I remember back to the time when there wasn't a wiki or if there was I didn't know Wikipedia existed yet this is bringing back memories of going everywhere and trying everything. Adventurer John wasn't there at that time. if i remember correctly there weren't the magic, ranged, and melee tutors there yet either. I remember spending hours in the Varrock east mine and getting attacked by that rat. I also remember the rocks used to explode sometimes and break your pick. So many memories of this game. It's nice to see someone new enjoying it.
This is so cool, dudes experiencing rs as if he’s back in 2007 experiencing it for the first time. And doing it without runlite is actually kinda cool, adds to the rawness.
Original client is like going to the gym on motivation alone, where as Runelite is like going on pre workout. Once you start, you can never train without it.
I hope he doesn't use RuneLite for a while :)
in the beginning everything runelite has to offer would just confuse him anyway. he needs to grasp the core of the game first =)
Damn some of y'all work out AND play Runescape? That's wild!
@@brett_norris One of the people that was in my GIM group is a professional bodybuilder. Crazy, right?!
@@Themurderin Wow that's awesome! I have a couple friends who do that, but not professionally and they definitely don't play Runescape
" I dont want to fund any shady business, or ironmen " hahaha 😂Cracked me up!
I absolutely love the two videos on runescape you've made so far. By all means, please keep exploring and discovering the game at your own pace, without the feeling of pressure to try out all the "meta" ways of playing the game, whether it's activities or client changes, that the commenters might recommend. The innocent cluelessness and sense of adventure is what drew us to watch your videos in the first place, reminding of the simpler times we all had first trying out the game as well.
Honestly, most of the features in RuneLite are targeted towards experience players anyways.
"i don't want to fund any shady business, or ironman" had me cracking up :)
Love this series! Also the humor. Don't worry too much about min-maxing, players who have been playing for 20 years will of course give you all kinds of advice, but I'm also enjoying you stumbling through content with a fresh perspective.
This is super nice and nostalgic series. I respect the attitude of not googling stuff. That´s true -07 and before gaming mentality, because tbh, there wasn´t too much stuff to google about back then. I´ll drop a subscription here. I promise if you are willing to keep up with this journey and keep making videos, you will gain a decent amount of recognition in RuneScape TH-cam scene.
The fish you cant cook lmfao killing me
Omg the burnt meat option hahahah
Stumbling across the people splashing in the seagulls and being totally baffled is just absolute top tier content. If you are curious what their doing, basically they are intentionally wearing bad armour so that they never do damage which allows them to afk train magic for 20 mins at a time (albeit very slowly since you don't get much xp for hitting a 0)
Jagex should study your videos and make changes that will benefit new players, such as the where to craft your Cow hide. Runescape has a massive learning curve to begin with and a lot of people give up before they even get started.
Keep up the great vids!
Please continue this series! Hands down nostalgia!
Glad you're trying to keep the experience as spoiler-free as possible. Certainly makes it more entertaining to watch. Keep up the amazing work!
Your commentary and editing is hilarious! Absolutely loving this series and it’s so fun and funny to watch as a more experienced player
Keep up the awesome series! Runelite helps with quest, you could always follow the Optimal Quest guide offered on the Runescape Wiki, right click things around instead of just click, Right click the quest and use quest helper on Runelite client. You will be more satisfied and it'll help you through the game!
This is my favourite series ever. It makes me feel so nostalgic. All the aimless wandering, discovery, and curiosity.
This raw experience is something that all other experienced OSRS players and content creators can't replicate. Super enjoyable to watch, thanks! :D
I love you Flip. Thank you for joining our community. You are amazing, keep it up!
i cannot stress how much i genuinely LOVE this process. Seeing someone not know anything about this game and taking it on without just instantly knowing cause of years of playing or just always having the wiki open for the random info you need. Seriously im loving this and cannot wait for more.
This is everything that I did when I was like 12 years old. Refreshing to see someone who enjoys the game for what it is
i can not begin to show my gratitude towards you for making this. Just using the home teleport to save 10gp warmed my heart. also in the first episode , i couldnt believe you actually tried to wear the goblin armor. But, OFCOURSE YOU DID! Because everybody did! But for us its been 15 years or more, and thus everyone knows you cannot wear the armor and its more of a meme. With you, its nothing but heartwarming though! This is a great experience, it really takes me back!
23:16 literally made me laugh out loud! I love watching you overcome your struggles. You are such a funny commentator! I have been anticipating this video since I saw the first one. I think both membership and runelite are a bad idea if you want to figure this game out on your own at your own pace. You have a ton of free content to figure out first, and runelite is something that gives you a lot of extra info (kind of like having a built in wiki, it will just make everything really easy for you). I look forward to more! Also, you can click on your specific skills on your levels menu, and it will open the in-game guide to the skill showing you which levels do what.
i agree i would wait on the membership and runelite as thats what i did even with a ton of prior knowledge. as much as i love this game i dont want any new player to pay that much for membership, i remember paying $5 and that was with my moms credit card! I can earn enough gold to buy a bond in one day and would absolutely contribute to this series when he gets to that point. I commented with the same advice about the skills tab, im sure he'll discover it next episode. i cant wait lol!
@@CobraSnatch sweet! Im loving all the support he's getting from the RS community! Glad you agree about runelite and membership. This series is honestly making me relive my childhood when I first got into RuneScape at age 8 in 2004! Especially the state of confusion 😅
There are so many different ways to play this game, some do crazy long grinds, some do complicated ones and so on.
This is just the pure RuneScape experience as it was intented, and I love it!
This series is amazing. I often wish I could forget all of my Runescape knowledge and re-experience the entire game again. Unfortunately, that is not possible, but watching you experience is good enough. As I sit here and scream at my screen the obvious answers to your questions, I can't help but feel nostalgic. The only real disappointment I've had so far is that you didn't get a cape drop from the highwayman because I think that would have significantly improved your experience.
I was thinking the same,it saddened me to see, that he killed it twice and still no cape. And the dog part actually surprised me af. Never knew this was a thing.
Absolutely love the line "things just fall apart when I'm not around" 😂😂
My god, is this a lot of fun to watch. Seeing you bank your hole inventory the first time was just amazing, got me some instant dopamine points. ;D Please keep it coming, can't wait to see more of your experience.
I am eagerly waiting for the return of 57batsibis
Let's gooooo!! More new player content! I think us vets love to re-live all the content that made us fall in love with this game
The irony in the statement "I'm too lazy to set up RuneLite" will be with me for a long time lmaoooo
I really like this series, its so fun seeing the game from this perspective.
hehehe by the by, vambraces are NOT footware, they are leather sleeves to protect your wrists from the bowstring of a bow. :P
Also lumbridge teleporting right in front of the guards is the ultimate flex lol.
My favorite series on TH-cam right now. Your sense of humor is making my diaphragm sore, my good man! Thank you and I'm gleefully awaiting the next episode!
Bro when the music hit at 25:22 I was so HYPE!!! I love that you're discovering everything for the first time. Please keep on playing!!
I'm reliving my first Runescape days as a six year old child vicariously through these videos. Thank you.
bro the montage at 25:20 of getting cowhides is the funniest thing ive ever seen, love the editing
bro accidentally became a osrs content creator lmao. youre playing this game so fresh its nostalgia for a lot of us who been through this game for so long. amazing series my dude keep it up!!!
I love this! This is so refreshing and nostalgic. Please continue this! Your humor is also so very entertaining!
I had the broadest smile throughout the entire video! It's like watching my younger brothers achieve achieve something step by step just feeling proud and happy for them!
this is so great! seeing you finding your way through runescape just makes me smile and laugh through the hole vid! love it so much
The hide grind brings me back many many years to middle school when I first played this game. Figured out mining and smithing and thought it was so cool to make my own armor and weapons and spent a lot of time around Al Kharid. There were a number of folks mining north of the city and I joined them. Fill up on ore, smelt it, lose half my iron, bank what remained and repeat for hours. Thought I was doing great in my full set of steel I eventually got haha. Later got a SICK black longsword out of a store in varrock!
I never comment on videos or like them, but this series is an exception. It's hard to describe the feeling I get from watching you achieve the simplest of things. Please keep going at it and don't read wikia unless you have to. Love from Finland
what an honor then, appreciate it :)
Vambraces as footwear cracked me up. The fact that he equipped them to the glove spot showed it and then said footwear 2 more times was so wholesome.
This is probably one of my favorite rs videos i've seen in ages, getting latched onto bones and cowhide feels so nostalgic. Re-experiencing doing random stuff, exploring, and discovering the game through you has me smiling the whole time. This is one of the few game communities that absolutely adores any new players that gives it a good try so you'll have a lot of interest in this series. Looking forward to your forced conscription into the osrs youtube community. :)
FLIP! Welcome to the OSRS (oldschool RuneScape) family! Small quality of life tip: in the bottom right corner of the bank interface, there is a button of a backpack that will let you deposit your whole inventory into the bank! Keep it up, loving the videos.
I really love this, it's like looking at a 10 year version of myself trying to understand the game. please keep it going!♥
Aww it's so nice to hear that the Runescape community has swooped in to offer you lots of help. It's always been a tradition to help "cute noobs"-a lot of people started this game as hapless kids and we all had experiences of nice players offering us advice and donations to get us started.
I cant get enough of this series and your sense of humor, this is pure nostalgia. Please continue making these videos if you enjoy playing the game! Also, you can hover over your skills to see the current experience and how much experience there is left until you level up. You can also click on the different skills to check weapon tiers and skill unlocks. Looking forward to the next one!
Hey just to let you know, your channel got a shoutout on the latest episode of Runescape Chronicles (one of the most popular osrs clip compilation channels).
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for bringing the nostalgia back, i've been playing the game on and off but i just needed to see this. someone new to the game just enjoy it without going for effectiveness and tryharding on the game.
Tourist trap and blueman group. Synchronized seagull magic. Never change xd
This is the content I never knew I needed until I watched.
Please keep them coming so entertaining.
This is great. You are super funny to watch learning the ways of OSRS. Have fun playing and welcome to the dopamine mines.
PS. You can't escape the forbidden tech forever, good luck!
Love how you dont google things or take advice that much, way more authentic and fun. Keep it up!
“We just make more of the gloves, I don’t know why I was so eager to do this just a few hours ago”
That wraps up every grind in RuneScape. 😂
Very excited to watch this :)
Edit: I don't recommend RuneLite. It will most likely ruin the blind aspect of the game that makes it so fun to enjoy when you're a beginner.
I literally spent years of my childhood killings cows in Lumbridge, running around to Al-Kharid (didn't wanna pay the toll), tanning leather, crafting stuff and then selling it to the general store to make money. Glad to see that great minds still think alike :)
Lmao this is brutal to watch but I love it 🤣
It reminds me of the first time I started runescape. Keep it up man, the runescape community fully supports you!
you going to the bank and then leaving with a full inventory is just peak nostalgia god i smiled so big
Thanks for documenting your journey into RuneScape! It’s interesting to see how the world is perceived by a new player when I take everything for granted after playing it so much. I hope you continue to have a genuinely pleasant time learning the game and leveling up!
And at 2:26, after 16 years of not playing Runescape, I decided to download OSRS. Thank you sir, you have brought some light back to my life.
Loving the series man! Glad you uploaded part 2 today! 😎
these videos are awesome. most of us have been playing for so long. we have replaced the fun of curiosity and exploration with high level teleports and max efficiency level grinding. this is so refreshing. enjoy your time in old school. so many of us wish we could go back to exactly where you are now.
Just a comment on why OSRS players enjoy your content so much. A lot of us played this game when we were young, probably between ages of 6-14 or so, and then the company that produced it essentially destroyed the game by significantly evolving the combat system. They then re-released one of 'original' versions of the game, and many of us started playing again. By the time the Runescape was re-released, we all knew how the game works and now days we play the game too efficiently, hence clients like Runelite. You are playing the game we all grew up playing, with a similar perspective that we all had when we were new to the game (which was probably the best part). Its really enjoyable to watch man. Your content is a beautiful mix of nostalgia and entertainment. Keep it up!
It took you less than 2 episodes to become an impressively competent osrs content creator, hats off to you sir! Hope you enjoy your stay in Gielinor!
This is the most glorious OSRS series on all of youtube
The trout is already cooked, if it wasn't it would say raw.. also, watching you discover my childhood happiness has made me so happy! Don't stop, it just gets better! I wish I could relive all the discovery you are making! I'm jealous. Enjoy my friend
Loving these!. PLEASE CONTINUE
The fact you call vambraces footwear is amazing. I love this series so far
That moment when you kill 2 highwayman and still didnt get a cape
i just watched that scene, and was sad when none dropped
@@Pikawarps me too :(
everyone has basically already said this but watching this from the perspective as someone who has played rs for almost 2 decades, watching someone around their own age, that is brand new and deciding not to ruin the learning experience with online help or runelite is really something that makes this as viewing content just super engaging to watch. From thinking thinking vambs are footwear, to not being able to cook already cooked trout and trying to figure out if a loom is a viable option to make leather or not, all of that had me shaking my head at the screen as well as laughing along at the first time experience, in a good way, its just fun to see new players experience the game.
Glad to see you carrying it on hope you fall in love with this game as so many of us have. Its so good to see you figure everything out instead of just using guides, so when you get really stuck I wouldn't worry about using guides they are there to be used when you need :) Runlite you literally just open and login as usual hope to see runlite in the next episode hehe :) it just adds lots of quality of life stuff :)
Absolutely love the series, keep it coming! Also, totally agree with not looking at the wiki or youtube tutorials, makes it much more fun watching you figure it out.
Episode 3 when????
Loved his first encounter with mage splashers. "Synchronized seagull magic" 😂😂 Loving this content so much!
So when can we put him up for an award for content creator of the year for RuneScape?
yes pls
I literally yelled out thank you when you finally emptied out your inventory. Makes me realize how I take for granted how confusing it can be even for the basic things if you don't know the mechanics of the game. I played this back when I was in grade school, then picked it back up in recent years with no problem.
These two videos have been a lot of fun. Almost a 15 year veteran on this game so it's fun seeing some videos from somebody who isn't maxing out efficiency.
Stick with the game, it gets so good. There's a really high skill ceiling for endgame PVE/PVM, the game has a perfect blend of casual/hardcore content, incredibly enjoyable and funny quests, it's one of few games where you actually feel like you're creating your own adventure.
“I don’t want to fund any shady business here .. or iron men” 😂😂I’m dead 😂 dude you already know
This is the runescape raw dog experience and I could not ask for a better series
I love how little he uses his bank it makes me absolutely crazy
I just found this series and I'm loving it! I was really worried I'd be cringing out of my mind about you missing things that come second-nature to me, or scared you'd give up after not finding what you're looking for but in reality I found your content incredibly charming and I'm looking forward to more content.
One thing I will say is that I'm happy you're wanting to avoid looking things up, I think it will make the series more interesting to watch, but runescape is both a VERY deep and VERY broad game with a ton of quirks and "loopholes"- don't shy too far away from using the wiki every so often, it is by far the best resource for the game (and the wiki is so incredibly well done it's not even an argument to say that it is THE best wiki for ANY game EVER created)
I had the biggest smile on my face when you dumped your inventory in the bank and hit the cowhide crafting grind, legend
Please keep going with this series, its great to see as someone who has played the game since 2006. Also don't let any of the veteran players try and encourage you to do things that are gonna ruin the fun of being a new player. Runelite is a very useful client, but takes out a lot of the exploration and discovery from the game. Theres no rush to be a max level account, just enjoy the game and pick up a month of membership if you are enjoying yourself, it really opens up a lot of content :)
This is genuinely the first runescape video in years that I have watched more than one time. This is actually the third time I'm watching it cause it is just so good. Looking forward to future video's!
burnt meat is used for a quest. In the past a certain level you cant burn meat anymore. So in the past ironmen could not do the quest witches potion if cooking level was high.
It's great how you're discovering this game without looking online for help... Loving it
