  • This really was an eventful trip with lots of repairs but also some fantastic scenery. The trip made us realise how important it is to travel with likeminded people. People that share in the fun times but also in the times when things don't go according to plan.
Tankwa Karoo - we'll be back!

Definitely the shortest route. Even with all the issues good came out of it and that was finding the other leak. Thank you for sharing such stunning content.

Happy days in having that fuel tank coming apart & tiny leak problem (which is harder to track on petrol systems vs diesel) sorted out man! Thanks for sharing the great scenery and outdoors, much appreciated! We also have both Moonriver & Die Mond on our list of places to visit. 😊

    ✌🏻 greetings…
30 litres per hundred? That’s crazy. Im no mechanic but when I did Namibia in my FJ 4.0 V6, my fuel pump housing went just before springbok… long story short, when last did you pressure test your fuel system? Also, you be surprised how much fuel you’d lose with such a small hole with leaks and evaporation.
I’m still shocked at 30 litres 😅! Do you get a Christmas card from the Saudi royalty every year?
People are always shocked when I tell them my FJ does 11.4 per hundred fully laden. Sure if I get a head wind it climbs. But I don’t think I’ve ever done more than 16!
And lastly, I was on my way home yesterday and saw your in-laws Jimny. You can’t miss it because of the awning mounts, and then I found your channel… weird and small world.
    Keep on truckin’
    🤘🏻

Another great video, thank you. I admire your attitude, but given what you paid for those two tanks and the reason you paid so much more than a local "almost equivalent" I am quite dissapointed in the leaky main tank. Unfortunately there is only one way to significantly improve the fuel consumption that makes financial sense is to remove weight...
Looking forward to the Baviaans! My mother was born there, but I have never been.

Shortest route as i could still walk to the fuel station. How did the jimny manger this trip with fuel ?

Hi Rae. The Jimny had extra jerries with him so made the trip without any issues. Tom did a great job in managing his fuel limitations.
