This is a great report of what life should be about, balance, enjoyment, family love and off course offroading. Thank you for sharing your experiences 👌🏻👌🏻 Looking forward to the next instalment 👍🏻😁
Amazing family time!! 🥹 Those words from your dad at camp has hit so hard! I’m on my way back to SA, I’ve been living in UK for 21 years and I’m now 42. Home is calling me back after such a long time and the idea of spending all that time with ma en ded again is going to be amazing. I am going to put a rig together and travel through SA and your videos are providing much inspiration. Al die beste chomma, bring nog videos. ❤️ world champs 😜 🇿🇦
New bucket-list track, thanks guys! What your dad says at the end is so very true. I only managed to do two decent overland tours with my parents, and wish I could again. Don't wait for perfect opportunities, just do it. Hugh, that Troll sounds glorious!
It's a 'must visit' place. We love having our parents with us when doing adventure trips. They complete the family picture. Life is short, better make time for the important things in life.
Thanks Piet! It really is a special gift of life when you can have adventures with the whole family. I remember a point in my life when I wondered how one got into this type of lifestyle when looking at others who were living it, now the answer is simple....just start!
Yes, the petrol Patrol loves the sand! Gives it an opportunity to rev to the limit and stay there😎. Hugh's Patrol weighs over 3.4T and with those 35" Maxxis MT tires on it made lite work on those steep sandy hills👊
The sound of that Patrol up against the limiter is what dreams are made off ! Awesome video guys, looks like a load of fun....was your Pathfinder a Petrol or Diesel Hugh ?
Hi Marco. I had the 2.5 dCi auto with BFG AT and I fitted an ARB locker in the rear because the stock traction control wasn't up to scratch to the more technical type of driving.
@@hughkirby2416 I would appreciate it to have a chat or 3 with you regarding the Pathfinder. I bought one for the wife 2 months ago, and has taken its place as our weekend/holiday car over my doublecab. Info and especially personel experience on them are quite hard to find ! It's only until I can afford a Patrol....🤣😜
Wel gedaan manne!! What is the fuel consumption of the petrol Patrol at full rpm in soft sand?? I am just curious as I own a Land Cruiser 4500 EFi petrol, so that will give me an idea of what to expect... Daai Patrol klink mooi so teen "full blast"... LOVE daai Cruiser beast natuurlik!!
Hi Riaan. Full RPM is about 6000 RPM if I remember correctly, but fuel consumption is not something I will know since it is only for a short period in relation to the total trip. Driving in Low Range with 0.5 BAR in the tires will consume more fuel over the trip. Hope this makes.

On behalf of Hugh - a petrol and you should see his satisfaction "after the limiter" track
