    Was watching this live and was sweating watching these 2 exchanges blows, imbracing the fact that if someone drops the guard at the wrong time it's KO.
    Tawanchai was on HIGH ALERT with Superbon's highkick, at 3:56 you can see after Tawanchai missing the kick and spinning, his hand were up as superbon threw a right high kick. Scary stuff.
    These high level exchanges are so much fun to watch, looking at their eyes as they calculate their shots and counters. Beautiful.

    • @bryankong4412
      @bryankong4412 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      At least for 3:56 his hand was still up for that to lessen the damage but I feel like 7:05 was really close in that exchange, I can see possibly Tawanchai getting knocked down or knocked out like Grigorian if he was standing solid instead of giving Superbon a low kick to throw him off balance so that his kick lose power. That feet was already touching the face if you look at 7:56 replay.

    • @pawoofz
      @pawoofz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@bryankong4412 Yeah I noticed that too, Superbon in that moment probably thought he had it.
      It looked like because Tawanchai lean just a little bit to his right, it took away from the whip end of Superbon's kick as well so it touched the neck just after the whip, at the same time he lost his footing.

    That halfway sidekick worked very well for Tawanchai. I feel he kind of shut Superbon down a little bit. That kick kept him at bay very often and Tawanchai seemed a little bit sharper with his defense, it was pretty difficult for Superbon to score.

    Tawanchai’s side teep and weight distribution won him this fight. He was a little more backfoot heavy and his side teep gives just those extra few inches of range to control the distance and therefore the timing of exchanges more often than Superbon. Superbon was a more lead leg heavy to allow him to throw his hard round kick without loading up on it but Tawanchai made sure to continue moving with subtle feints so as not to be frequently targeted by that kick. He also set up his rear leg off of the feints and rhythm set up by the use of his lead leg.

    That side teep Tawanchai uses is similar to Samart's. Such a beautiful technique. Turning that teep to the side provides more range, power, and it's a lot harder to catch. You should check out Samart's side teep if you haven't already.

    • @tcp2257
      @tcp2257 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Yes! Tawanchai has definately the best side teep since samart. Samart still has better hands though, although tawanchais left streight is quite percise, but no match to samarts variety. Samarts footwork is also better, from his boxing experience of course. But tawanchai left kick is reeeeally good.

    That was a really interesting chess match between two kickers in an open stance. Tawanchai using both legs vs. Superbon's back leg. Tawanchai hit Superbon with side teeps whenever Superbon was lead-foot dominant or their feet were lined up which stopped Superbon from being able to kick with his rear leg. And whenever Tawanchai was lead-foot dominant he launched rear leg front and roundhouse kicks. The side teep was an interesting solution for when your opponent gets lead-foot dominance in an open stance. Great fight and great commentary.

    As a martial arts instructor, I've had an interesting observation when teaching my students (children) to do a side kick: they naturally perform a side teep (Thai Side Kick) more easily than a traditional karate/taekwondo style side kick. Perhaps the push kick (both front and side variations) are more bio-mechanically natural than karate style "front snap kicks" and "side kicks." I'm now thinking about teaching the side teep BEFORE teaching the side kick. Hmm.. thoughts?

Meanwhile Tawanchai possess the champion tittle during his golden age and prime and be ready to reach the other top tilttles . Compare with Superbon who has successfully passed his prime and hard to remain to bring back his golden era. However , I still respect and appreciate for those he has done to promote Muay Thai arts and conveyed them to the next generations.

    Hey Gabriel if you like Tawanchai side teep, you should check samart payakaroon, his side teep is even better.

    The fighter who establishes the better straight kick is going to win when it goes to the score cards most of the time, and he'll even land more powerful shots much of the time too. I've watched the entire fight 3 times now and I gave Tawanchai every round except the first, and I gave him a 10-8 round no the 4th round due to a solid knockdown, which i'm pretty sure wasn't just a slip.

    I don't like how Superbon is very careful and inactive that's why Tawanchai is dictating the pace landing long attacks on him. And also, it's very weird seeing Superbon fighting Muaythai where at all times I see him fighting with big gloves on.

  • @taaek3234

    Superbon got problems against the lefty that's why he couldn't do hus best head kicks besides that Tawanchai was too cautioned

    @12:15 First few rounds Tawanchai used Superbon moving his head slot to the outside as a cue to attack. After awhile he stopped attempts and toyed with the other side a bit, then settled for head-on.

    Something I noticed was superbon was using hooks and overhands after kicking way more than I’ve ever seen him use them ever, trying to take advantage of the small gloves and getting around tawanchai’s guard. This is the best his hands have ever looked also.

    Anyway ,the only way to block a front kick/side teep that fast is to watch the champ's center of gravity and anticipate the kick by watching his hips torque. When you see his hips torque, you need to lightning fast lower that elbow an inch or two and bring your own knee up to your elbow. You CANNOT lower your guard to try to block or catch that kick vs a world class fighter, because you will get pounded in the face by his jab-cross and won't be able to block that if you're busy holding onto his leg.

    I think Superbon was better during the exchanges with his punches and elbows and won round 1, 3 and 4. But it’s very close and understandable why the judges gave it to Tawanchai. Tawanchai landed tons of teeps and the judges probably prioritised those teeps more. The sweeps and dumps usually don’t count on the scorecards though, if it wasn’t under tradition Thai rules.

    • @ManSantichai
      @ManSantichai 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You can see Superbon slow down a lot in rd 4-5 after tanking all those teeps and left kicks. Tawanchai kinda gassed too but Superbon surely took more damage.

      Round 4 was a clear round for Tawanchai. Superbon trying to sweep Tawanchai, but fell instead and also that huge teep near the end sealed the deal for Tawanchai.

      Bias? To whom? He is just telling itblike it is with the highest respect to both fighters. But Tawanchai was winning the fight and that's how he said it. Superbon was behind on points and should have gone crazy the 4th round but he didn't. I'm really impressed with Tawanchai. Superbon is one of my role models in life and he made it look easy..

    I'm curious from your perspective, do you think Tawanchai's victory is right? I've seen so many comments on the one championship page saying Superbon got robbed and that he was the actual winner. I'm new to this sport so I wouldn't know, got into it after discovering Tawanchai.

      rewatching this fight it's a very obvious win for tawanchai, muay thai scoring he was way ahead, did more damage with his round kick, and controlled superbon with his teep and in the clinch.

      @sineenartruckprated5713 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He doesn’t got robbed .He hasn’t fought in MualThai rule for 9 years and doesn’t go well with small groves .However, Superbon liked to get an opportunity to fight for the Muay Thai Tittle that leads him to bring back Kick boxing champion from Chingiz Allazov.
