    I have the Magimix 5200 XL and the extra discs! I LOVE my Magimix. I can't believe I lived my life for so long with out it. It cuts my prep time in the kitchen down to seconds. It gives me perfect uniform slices. I found lots of videos on TH-cam on how to use it. My husband got it for me for Christmas because it was on sale. I will never give up my Magimix! Thanks for all your videos.

    Thanks very much for replying so quickly! I agree with your comments about the fact that since Williams-Sonoma carries the Magimix, it must have decent service options. I guess the best option will be to try to see them both in person! Each one is probably more blender than I truly need, but I'd rather buy big now so I don't regret it down the road!

    Thanks for the video.
    As a side note, you do know that the ring that you place in the largest bowl at 4:56 isn't actually made to be used with the citrus press - right?
    That ring is called the "blendermix" attachment and it is its own attachment. It is made to be inserted (just how you used it prior to placing the citrus press on top of it) and it makes things like soups and smoothies come out a bit smoother.
    Anyway, glad you like your 5200xl. I've loved mine for the 10 months I've had it.

    Hi again, Mimi. So, I called two of my nearby Williams-Sonoma to make sure they had the Magimix 5200XL in stock, and both tried to talk me into the KitchenAid Pro Line series 16 cup food processor because it also dices and does it well. There aren't too many reviews on it though, i'm guessing it's a newer model that hasn't been out long yet. Have you or any of the other viewers here heard anything about this KitchenAid processor? thanks!

    The Magimix food processor is powered by an induction motor, this is why it's quiet and reliable.

    As a food processor, I think the Magimix is the best(although I haven't tried the Breville). It is solidly built...check one out in person...its solid. I love the 3 different size bowls. I haven't had to deal with repairs yet as it has been flawless, but I'm sure they have authorized service locations to fulfill their warranty in the US..their warranty is very good and I don't think Williams -Sonoma would carry it if they didn't have their warranty service locations in place. Just my 2 cents.

    Thank you so much for your reply! I just want you to know, you're my mentor :-) I've learned & am learning so much from you- you're incredibly inspiring. I'm now 100% raw &loving it. Thanku so much 4 your beautiful spirit &loving approach to sharing ur knowledge with us all. I currently do a lot of juicing w/ my Omega 8006 & was considering the OmegaVert 400 as it makes almond milk & juices more quickly, however, should I pass on the additional juicer & just go for the magi mix? Thanku so much!

    My husband purchased a Magimix 5200XL as a Christmas present for me in 2012. I love mine! I got the creative disc set. I love it. I have never had another food processor. I have a question for you. Is the Magimix far superior to your old Cuisinart? I am hoping that I did well with my first food processor. (I am a raw foodist and the Magimix saves me so much time.)

    Hi Mimi, will it also juice green stuff (including leaves) like yet only the GreenStar is capable for? Then it's definitely worth it's price. Thanks and greets :-)

    It could do many things your blender does like smoothies and it is a juicer, but I am keeping my Vita-Mix and Norwalk juicer..I love those. It is replacing my cuisinart food processor and works great and I like the 3 different size bowls.

  • @ub52209
    @ub52209  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    it comes with a blender and citrus juicer attachment but the vegetable juicer is a separate attachment. Obviously, not for everyone due to the cost, but one of the best I've ever used.

    Yes, its excellent. I gave my cuisinart to my daughter when I got my Magi-Mix. By the way, I was not paid anything by Magi-Mix...its my honest opinion.

    ok, I'll stick to making my nutmilks in my Vitamix & then nut milk bag. I'll look to using the Magimix for it's food processor abilities and save up to purchase it down the road. Thank you again. I really appreciate your response:-) Have a wonderful day!! xoxo Juliane

    Hi Mimi et al,
    I'm just starting off getting into healthier eating, food dehydrating, etc. I'm having a hard time choosing between the following food processors: Magimix 5200, Breville sous chef 16cup, and Cuisinart 14cup elite. Please help!
    1) Breville is a great unit, but stinks for dough.
    2) Magimix - seems great, doesn't look as as nice or high quality, and am not sure how one deals with repairs since there is no Magimix USA(?)
    3) Cuisinart - complaints about food getting between the bowls

    Does this replace a Vitamix blender? Does it replace your juicer?

  • @ub52209
    @ub52209  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the best way to make almond milk is with a high power blender...like a vita-mix. It's really fast and easy to make it that way. The OmegaVert may be a better juicer than the magi-mix too-since I have not personally tried the OmegaVert 400, I can't tell you for sure. The real advantage to the magi-mix is the food processor and the 3 size bowls it has-it really is a superior food processor-there are better juicers but its nice that this does both if space and budget are limited.

    • @kricketkitty
      @kricketkitty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw a video of almond milk being made with the magimix and it seemed to go a good job straining out the pulp. Have you tried to use it for almond, coconut or other plant milks? Would possibly save time having it strain out the pulp than manually using nut milk bag....

  • @bostonpatriot613
    @bostonpatriot613 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello. Thank you for your video. Your machine has a piece that I don't have. At 6:24 there is a piece for berries, a plastic piec it slips into, and a separate plastic cover. I have the Magimix 5200xl. Is that what you have?

    • @ub52209
      @ub52209  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      bostonpatriot1 yes, mine is the 5200xl, maybe they discontinued that piece between the time I bought mine til you bought yours. I have never used that part and maybe they had received similar feedback from other users and decided to discontinue it, but that’s just a guess on my part. I’ve had mine for awhile now, so I’m not surprised they may have made some modifications. I hope you like yours as much as I do.

    lists for $650 here too, but actual sale price is $499. Not too bad if it replaces 3-4 of your current appliances. Definitely an investment, but it should last a long time...very long warranty and the company has been around forever.

    Hi Mimi :) I was just going to Williams Sonoma to buy one of these, but read so many "bad reviews"/cons on Amazon that
    now I am unsure. Now that you've had time to use yours for awhile, I would love an updated review to see how you feel about it presently!! :) That would be so helpful as I trust your opinion :) love your books :) Thank you!

    • @ub52209
      @ub52209  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would say its an excellent food processor. As far as juicer goes, I have a Norwalk and Omega 8005 juicers which are great, so I never use that feature. Also, I don't use the fruit juicer feature as I have a Breville citrus juicer which I love. So, for people with limited space or who just wants a great food processor, this is your choice...otherwise I would recommend buying different appliances that excel at each feature.

    HI Mimi,
    You look really amazing, and I can hardly believe your a day over 40 years (which is my own age). Sorry for having to drift off topic, but I am wondering besides eating really healthy, what do you do for sun protection? Do you use sunscreen, wear special clothing or limit your time in the sun or just simply drink lots of water? I am really dumbfounded how a fair skinned lady like you can look decades younger then your actual numerical age (time on earth only)? Thanks again!

    what are you talking about? Very easy to clean...there are various parts, but you would only use and need to clean one or two, depending on what you use. The extra bowls are usually used one at a time depending on what you are making and how much you want to make or which feature you use...if you had separate machines for each function, you'd have to clean each one after use. You may not like this machine for one reason or another but don't not like it because it has too many parts.
