See it in action, chopping, mixing, blending, whipping, and slicing, plus how to make Leek and Potato Soup, using my Magimix. So when you say one of your only regrets is not getting the larger machine, are you talking about the 4200, or the big boy 5200? Thank you for all your hard work here!

  • @LEARNHOMEOPATHY
    @LEARNHOMEOPATHY ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi Willy, great review! One reason I opted for the larger (enormous some might say!) 5200 version is exactly to overcome the problem you mention of leakage if you over fill because the 5200 bowl is so much larger it allows me to liquidise soups in much larger quantities.
    So if , like me, you know you'll be using it to liquidise a whole pan of cooked veg etc on a regular basis then do consider forking out a bit more and getting a larger version - It makes for less mess in the long run!
    :)

    My kitchen is a quarter of that size and I still fit a Vitamix, KitchenAid and the bigger Magimix on the counter. It's fine as long as you can reach everything and have space left for a big cutting board.

    Great review! Very professional.
    I have one question about cleaning. Would it not be more effective to fill the mixing bowl with soapy water and pulse the dirty blade a few times to dislodge the food stuck in the crevices?

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment I do appreciate it, I have tried your suggestion, foam from the soap everywhere, although it did help somewhat, however as the drive shaft does not extend to the top of the bowl, over fill with liquid which finds its own level and runs out from underneath the bowl, result one hell of a mess. The bottle brush is fiddly but thorough.

    I find your videos on Magimix 3200 very useful my problem is opening and closing the lid. Sometimes it gets stuck one to the point where I had to get a new lid. Could you clearly show how to put lid on, close and reopen. This was a replacement to an earlier model I used for over 20 years!

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Allie, thanks for your comment I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the lid on your Magimix, I'm happy to help and will make a lid opening and closing video sometime in the future. At the moment I'm recovering from surgery to my left hand and the Magimix is too heavy to get out of the cupboard, so keep watching, I'll get there.

      @@WillyFilmit Hi Willy
      Thank you for getting back to me regarding my problem with the Magimix lid. I’m really sorry to hear about the surgery you’ve had to have on your left hand. I do hope it is healing well. However the good news is that I sat down in the garden today and read the Magimix book with the instructions very carefully and should not, hopefully, have any further problems with the lid. The first one I had, and it was brand new, just would not open and close and was often jammed. The new one seems better but I’ve only used it once. Thankfully it sits on the worktop as I would not like to keep getting it in and out of a cupboard! I will wash the bowls by hand although the book says you can with care use the dishwasher. So please don’t worry about doing a video for me. Frankly if I have more problems in the future it won’t get used. The original one I had lasted over 20 years with no problems this seems flimsier (bowls). All the very best and thank you for your original video which was helpful. Allie

      Hi Allie, glad you have it sorted, on my cooking channel The Barbecue Walk of Flame, when I'm able, I will be making Tapenade Toasties, using my Magimix. Keep a look out I'll include a couple of close ups of opening and closing the lid.

    Hi Willy, thank you for this nice and helpful video!
    I think the Magimix also has a dicing disc. Have you tried that? How does the dicing perform with hard veggies like carrots, sweet potatoes?
    Thank you!

      @WillyFilmit  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Peter, thank you for your comment I do appreciate it. In answer to your question I don't have a dicing disc, and I can't see one on their accessory list for my model, it looks like they don't do one.
      Cheers.

      Hi Nicole, I don't see any scratches on either the large or small bowl, however much of which I process is soft or liquid, having said that I did crush some ice cubes last summer, very noisy but no adverse effects to the Magimix. Many thanks for your comment glad to be of help.

      @WillyFilmit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Karen, thank you for your comment I do appreciate it and hope the following info helps you.
      The 3200 model has been superseded by the 3200XL, the only difference is the lid, the XL has a larger feed tube, and costs around £269 to £290. However on John Lewis website there is the 3200CS in white at £190, the colour makes a difference in price.

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Linda, many thanks for your comment it is much appreciated. The mini seems to have all the same functions as the larger models but with less capacity, if this meets your requirements it should be ok. Think very carefully, it will slice a leek in seconds, if it lives on the worktop great, but if it lives in a cupboard like mine having to get it out, make space on the worktop, it may be quicker to slice that leek by hand. Once again thanks for your comment, don't forget to have a look at my other channel, The Barbecue Walk of Flame.

      Hi there Irene, many thanks for your comment I do appreciate it, regarding the cook book I have to agree, some things have turned out well, and others not so well. When it comes to dough, I've made pizza to test a Jamie Oliver kit, and my favourite is Focaccia Bread, there is a video on my BBQ channel, th-cam.com/video/jzGYKxNmwGs/w-d-xo.html this was filmed before I had the Magimix when I was using a very old Kenwood mixer. I have since made it with the Magimix and it comes out equally as good. Once again thanks for the comment.
