Wow! Cool ride and video. Very nice. I rode in one of these in Branson, Missouri, many years ago. I'm 72 now and I was around 65 years old then. My goal was to go down as fast as I possibly could and very minimum use of brakes. I feel bad for you that you had the "younger" slow guy in front of you. He ruined your feel for speed. Hahaha! You had a lot more patience than I have. I think I would have yelled at him and tell him to speed up! Even after you guys ended your ride. That guy obviously have no sense of adventure and never even apologized to you and should have never gone on that ride and ruined your thrill. You still kept your cool. I salute you for keeping your cool.

When I go on those alpine coasters, I tell the operator at the top that I do not plan on using the brakes unless I absolutely have to, and to please delay my departure for another 15 seconds or more if they are willing. They always do. But if you get into this situation, just brake way down and watch behind you for the next person to come up on you and then let go.

They need to build a passing lane,or a few. Slower riders automatically get switched to the ( granny) lane. Looks like a lot of fun,and the scenery is beautiful.

@ 25m (90ft) is about the length of two European buses, the radial (Corner-corner diagonal) measurement of a typical U.S. intersection, or the entirety of British case law laid out in a single line of books stood upright, front facing back (As if on a bookshelf). 😉 That said; Wiegand products are modular and they generally make their toboggan sections 10m (30ft) long...So if you ensure there are two gaps/joins in the track between you and the toboggan in front at all times, you're doing it right. 👍

I had an opportunity years ago to go on an Alpine roller coaster in Northern Minnesota. Chickened out because the chairlift ride was a lot higher than what I was willing to go on. But now I'm much older, I think I could handle it.
They should build these things without operator control of the brakes. The rails should have automatic brakes just like a roller coaster. I, for one, would not pay to be stuck behind slow pokes for most of the ride.

I rode something like this in China in 2019. I used the brakes only sparingly. It was a fast ride. The girl I was with must of rode the brakes all the way down, as she was way behind me.
That didn't work for me. I tried the same thing, and the video started playing at 1/4 speed... 🐌 (Not entirely surprising, though: It's a British made mouse...)

Theres a place close by here called Raccoon Mountain that has an alpine slide. It's not enjoyable as theres always someone in front of you that rides the brakes all the way down. Your forced to go slow and it ruins all the fun.

That slowpoke dude in front shoukd have rode in the car with the girl. Looked like the only resson she slowed down. Was to figure out what happened to him. Dude was so scared from before starting the ride. Should have reakized that they wouldn't let kids on the ride if it wasn't safe.

The guy definitely could have sped up, but for the most part it was the lady in front of car 57 (presumably the guy’s wife or girlfriend) that was going super slow. The guy couldn’t fully speed up because she was right there the whole time. So overall he could have gone faster but the lady shouldn’t have gone on the ride, or should have waited to ride if she knew she might be scared of going too fast. Because she ruined the ride for probably multiple people behind her.

Im pretty sure that ride is labled a "thrill ride" and not a "wait till a part that goes fast then brake check the person behind you ride". The person infront of you brake checked you ON A THRILL RIDE. (Not trying to be mean to the kid infront)
Needs governor based on previous cars speed avg to allow more time between cars... maybe factor in experience... so that folks who want to coast fast are not frustrated.
