In this video I showed you how to make chana masala using dried chickpeas with tips and tricks on how to make the beans buttery soft. You can use the same technique while cooking any dried beans. This is a North Indian dish in which the chickpeas have this typical deep brown color which is obtained from tea leaves. You won't be getting any tea flavor when you eat it (I promise). You can even cook the beans without a pressure cooker on the stovetop but in that case it will take about an hour for them to get soft and you need to add more water while cooking the beans. 🎬 Related Videos - 🎬 Lentil and Bean Recipes - th-cam.com/play/PLxgPEcdhkY4EAQUzhvXNs2eO6JGAqZV5C.html 🎬 Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes - th-cam.com/play/PLxgPEcdhkY4HGC40CzrMe3Itzjr2-AwUt.html
This is such a great recipe! You are an amazing teacher and host! Beautifully presented with detailed instructions and a soothing and calm voice that doesn't detract from watching the video. Thank you.
Hi Bumbi, I've been addicted to watching your videos every day for the last couple of months. My girlfriend is Indian and her parents cook amazing curries, so I thought I'd get into cooking curries myself. Your recipes are so easy to follow, I've made about 5 of them so far that have all turned out perfectly and my grilfriend loves them! I plan on cooking this recipe this weekend and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Sometimes I wish I could take a picture and show you my results! You're an amazing teacher, so I just wanted to say thank you!!
I am so glad you find my videos useful and thanks so much for trying my recipes. I really appreciate it. My email is given in the description box below the list of ingredients. You can email me the pictures.

Maybe next time I'll be braver 😂cause my peas where not dark ike yours thankyou vey much curry queen this is the best chickpea recipe ever!

I'm in love with your soothing voice, Bumbi 😍 (cause I know mine is like always looking for a war 😭😭😭) Meanwhile, your cooking is addictive if not habit forming.
Hi Bumbi 👍Hope you've had a nice day. I finally got round to trying this. (recipe 148) I have been using my instant pot a lot lately. I have never cooked anything using tea before. It turned out very delicious. We really enjoyed it. Willow absolutely loves chickpeas. She eats them regularly. So I cooked her some. This is a really great recipe. So glad I tried it. Thank you so much 💕
I am definitely gonna try this recipe. I was looking on TH-cam for an authentic Indian chickpea recipe and chose yours cuz of your presentation. Thanks for sharing. ❤ Greetings from Holland Amsterdam
Hi bumbi i realy enjoy yr cooking u make it so easily will be trying some of yr recipes soon but will cut down on the oil my husband doesnt like oily food thank u 4 sharing yr amazing recipes with all of us stay blessed
Simmer it on low heat until the chickpeas become soft the way you like. It may take about 45 minutes to an hour. Please add more water if you see water drying up.
@@CurriesWithBumbi thanks for the fast response! And as i looked in the comments i have seen your pinned comment, where you answered my question already! lol i‘m happy to run to the indian shop and try this. im sure it will taste like it looks
Hi Bumbi I've just started making this dish, have no channa masala powder, have curry powder tandoori masala bazaar mix powder which one would you substitute with.
It is the same method that you need to follow if cooking in a pot. The only difference is you will need to add more water if you see your beans have not turned soft but the water level has gone down and it will take more than an hour for the beans to get tender.
