- People have been misspelling my name as maLAGos for so long, who knew it was a dramatic irony!?!
I forgot my gas mask and voice program, but* I still had to deal with this petty drama from an ex Org of mine ( / d20q9rf .
Again, I don't cheat and have absolutely nothing to hide... the irony here is that I post these videos to show that. Check out the other 12 or so going back years and find a single shred of evidence.
But welcome to the Internet, where anyone can say anything about anything. Don't be fooled by a no-talent, ass-clown just because they made a dramatic TH-cam video... watch and see for yourself.

I know Malogos we were in the same organisation for some time. He is a great player and difficult to kill. He Does not need to cheat. He does have a really fast connection I am in western Australia and have a horrible ping. We both appear to stall or jump to each other in the current patch. It is a battle royal issue right now causing these accusations this patch. Co-op vandal swarm has less issues atm. Net code is still under development and lag balancing like in most MMO is not implemented to reduce this effect.

Even if you aren't lag switching I'm pretty sure I've seen people do the lag switch just by the way some ships act. It's still a problem that should be solved. I expect it to be I always have expected the lag problems to be solved it's just not CIG's biggest problem right now. They've been really focused on the gameplay mechanics and the singleplayer not the multiplayer servers and mechanics right now.

+dukejoejoe That's just the game, man -- no one is lagswitching. It's even worse in 2.3, but only with ~8+ people in the same match... probably the worst it's been.
Use the controller you are most comfortable with. Right now, there's parity between S3 fixed and S2 gimballed. This video, from 1.3, was when the S2s were almost as good as S3, making fixed weapon setups relatively weak. I play mouse just because I cannot adjust to yawing with the stick.

How do you know the ping of someone from a match from 1.3?

Ugh, if you actually watch the video, I look at the scoreboad several times, and you clearly see the ping column.

i think the thing i dont understand about all these videos, is why doesnt anyone ever shoot back at you, if this is the way the game is for you, i would think there is something wrong with the game. your shooting people that looks like to me, dont even know you are there. and is the video slowed down, because this is super slow. i dont ever accuse anyone of anything, but watch your own video and try to understand why people think this is strange. ive never played in a match like this one.
+TOMAAS WILLIAMS People tend to avoid fighting the good pilots. I run into it all the time too and I'm not nearly as good as Malogos - they simply avoid fighting me and go for someone else.
Also, as someone who plays every day, there is nothing in this video that I find strange.

I don't get why all those ppl were implied you were cheating do no ppl have common sense anymore? To me it was obvious at first view that the video was a fake. I made my comment in the reddit when there were only 50 other comments and noone pointed out it was fake and just a troll at that point. I guess many ppl just wanted it to be true or stopped thinking or maybe played into it.

+malogos You can always tell by how people handle the reticule. I've been wanting to toy with mousing flying, but it's hard letting my expensive HOTAS sit behind me while I'm playing.

No one seems aware of the top pilot in the game, first thing i do when i enter a game, look for top pilot in scoreboards.
Nobody changes ever hes vector and trajectory...No one knows how to thrust more than 20%? ive seen noobs man but this is crazy....you must be the luckiest guy in earth if 90% of your opponents are that noobies... literally sitting ducks...
The only "normal" dogfight situation ive seen in the whole video was that one with that guy barbaguilix, which you said had high ping (how do you know that in 1.3? ther was no scoreboard ping indication by then) and you ahd a hard time hitting him in that fight, strange youre supposed to be a top pilot with deadly accuracy and in a normal dogfight situations (90% of my fights are like that one) you can't hit a damn thing...and ive not seen any major lag or freeze during that fight only a regular fight.
And youre using mouse??? seriously? A proud Renegade top dog using vjoy, wow, srry but thats hilarious.

i don't see anything unusual, you get a round with new players and you are experienced and playing meta, this is what you get. Here i am against new players in much less powerful ship, with fixed weapons: th-cam.com/video/zhjJdb2xWWAv/w-d-xo.html (sorry no sound). But when in matches with malagos i knew to stay away, or just harass and run, i could actively avoid him but not take him head on, because he was better than me and in a meta ship. Claiming cheating from that vid is BS, balance issues sure, but he states that, it's pre-alpha.

Seriously? Why are you even saying about ping? I think it was obvious for you at your level that ping does not matter in this game. If you hit the ship on your client it "IS" a hit no matter where he is at the server. That is basically why lagswitches do worked in game, are working, and will work until they make it server side.
There is nothing common in him having a bad ping and you hitting him. You still have to hit him on YOUR client.
And I am not saying you were or are cheating. But I'm just saying this video shows nothing. It's a video where poeple fly almost not changin their trajectory what actually looks like your are lagswitching. Again, I'm NOT saying your are.
Maybe just a lucky match.
TLDR: this video supports none of the arguments in conflict..
And by the way. I already start to forget the flying in 1.3. And from what I see the gimbaled guns/mouse aim is much better and smoother back in 1.3 than it is now in 2.3.1. Am I right?
+RubTheRob Ping absolutely matters... players with higher ping are significantly more desynced than players with low ping, since it takes more time to update the server and the server to update everyone else. You can still hit them, but they tend to jump around and are much harder to hit. This is more pronounced in 2.3, but it's been a problem for a long time.
You obviously don't know what lag switching looks like if you think there is lagswitching going on in this video. This is an actual video of someone using a lag swtich: th-cam.com/video/4eQkpr56Ttw/w-d-xo.html . As I say in the video, the pilots I"m playing are shooting and moving around -- that doesn't seem to happen with a lag switch.
Well i dont see also here some kind of LAG switch, but you mate Star Wraith has some odd moments... So i dont understand why YOU uploading this video and not Star Wraith? And really instead posting some funny gifs around salt and such things, you mates should better show something against this accusation... For me malogos isnt cheating... you whole reputation would be destroyed by "funny gifs" posts... people would start to believe that ALL of u are cheaters...
We have to show nothing against this accusations since we and the other good AC pilots know that Star_Wraith and malogos aren't using Lag switches or hacks.
You may not know that but people that often do scores with a KD of 3 or higher get a lot of hate from noobs who pm them. The problem with AC is that there is no good matchmaking since NOBODY is playing it because CIG isn't able to adress bugs or major imbalances which could be fixed easily. But no they have to push more ships to live....

Also the guy who uploaded the accusation is the one who should apologize to the SC community for XML hacking. (His handle is Mr.Mal and he used to cheat by putting gimbaled mantises on his Mustang Delta)
