Chris causes some light mischief and gets followed, hounded, and stalked at every turn by half the crew, but the one clown player sets up a murder death carousel and slowly tricks people into to die and nobody does anything about it.
To be honest the Carousel cant kill you UNLESS you have no shoes since your feet are gonna be the ones that bite the dust,Chris on the other hand broke into security and hacked many doors in his crazy spess adventure, ill have to say more or less everyone is a little more lenient on Clowns since they are funny and most of the time are played by players who really have a good understanding of the game.
He's not famous.
That's just the nature of clowns on SS13. Either the whole crew forms a lynch mob just for you or they allow you to get away with so much that you become the king of the universe. On some stations, if your antics are amusing enough, the crew will not only let you get away with murder, they'll help you do it.
My favorite thing is how there's already dead bodies and blood inside the murder death carousel and Chris still carelessly walks up to it anyway.

I used to play Mime a lot and just break into places and steal stuff. I stole the nuke disc once, got a hold of a hand teleporter, made some fake I.D.'s etc. It was fun. One time the detective gave me all his shit and committed suicide in front of me after telling me it was my job to look after the station now making me Mimetective.
to be honest though it may sound weird, after a while people just offing themselves becomes the norm.

@@ciaranbeard5769 TG Station. Basicaly considered "vanilla" and has one of the highest poulations. But you should just play SS14 now, way easier for new players to get into and more fun. Just lacking some things like surgery and psionics.

Edit: I have just read the most recent rules for the server. It has become one of the strictest servers I've seen in terms of rule set. The list goes on for about 10 pages and basically states that you're expected to act like it's a medium-high roleplay server. How far we've come from "We just wanted to make a fun server where you're allowed to fuck around"

I mean I haven't played SS13, but I get feelings of deja vu when I see servers hating that youtubers talk about SS13. Because now their game will not go as they planned, now their game will be "ruined" because someone decided to blow up the airlock during an evacuation.
And I fail to see how it's not funny, I don't care if my round just end because one lad created a mess, as long as it's a beautiful, creative and stupid mess I will applaud that guy.

It's people who haven't spent the 5 hours learning how to be remotely competent, so they just come in and steal random objects that are absolutely vital for players with jobs. I mean, I've barely even played it and I hate being caught with incompetent players constantly asking which key does what rather than reading a guide. Or having all of engineering lost in the ducts because they don't know how to do anything, and all the air is out of the science wing because someone thought it would be funny to whack the glass the whole game. Competent, planned chaos is good. Boring, nobody knows what's happening, just stupidity chaos is bad.

I was part of the original Oneytide. I spent many months learning the complexities of the game. I robusted my way through the horrors of the Ssethtide. And now, as history repeats itself, I must face my own kind as a true spessman.

@@madison8895 A guy named sseth-something made a very nice, funny review on the game and thus his fans rushed to the game to try to replicate his funny explosive antics on unexpecting servers at large numbers thus dubbed the ssethtide. you should watch sseths video though its gold !
@@madison8895 Pretty much what marvi said. To add some context, the term originates from the assistant job on SS13. Assistant is the default job, and it is the job often played by griefers because assistants have no real responsibilities on the shuttle. Assistants wear grey jumpsuits, and are collectively referred to as the "greytide" because together, they can form an unstoppable wave of chaos across the station. When Oney made his first SS13 video a long time ago, it led to the "Oneytide", where thousands of people like me poured into the game to check it out and cause some chaos. The same happened with Sseth's video, leading to the Ssethtide. And now, the second Oneytide is upon us. Soon they'll all get bored and leave, but some (like me) will inevitably stay and become proper players.
The tides rise and fall, but Cargonia stands Eternal!

To be fair, the thing that got the whole station trying to beat him down to start was putting down a banana basically. Guard tripped. He picked up his stun rod and dashed. That was what started the manhunt. The majority of other things he did past that were due to the manhunt escalating to him trying to get weapons and armor part for funsies part for not getting shot by the guard chasing him with a gun. The first truly criminal act(for a clown at least) was attempting to free a prisoner.....and he never ACTUALLY made any progress on doing so because every time he approached a door with intent to hack and enter to the prisoner a high ranking person showed up and he dashed.
Honestly I think half of it was that there were two clowns and one was being a wierdo (oney) and the other was a death cultist who broke the oxygen in that room twice and made a murder machine. Worst part is I feel like if he'd managed to get the armor we probably would have seen a death match between clowns at the end.
You push over a security guard and steal the thing that he uses to dispense robust justice, you are going to get chased around by security or at least marked for it.
I'd consider it a pretty clear cut case of "what the fuck are you doing, I kind of need that to do my job".

I either am the bartender and chatting with barmates while keeping greifers in check with the shotgun
or my favorite, respawing as an ai companion and mourning over my "owners" corpse when they ultimately die
My favorite was one time someone downloaded my AI and accidentally deleted me. Without skipping a beat, I reposted my ai and he re downloaded me and when he said he was relieved that he got me back, I acted like he only just downloaded me for the first time and never met him before
I think I broke the poor guy's heart lol

god I have so many stories from ss13, one of my favourites was from when I was pretty young, I was trying to run the botany lab by myself, and someone fell out of the ceiling, and immediately asked me to grow him weed. he left, and returned with a bag of alcohol he stole from the bartenders room. we both proceeded to get intense liver failure, and sadly I never got around to growing his weed :^(

I recently picked up Space Station 13 and it is great. Even if it is unintuitive for beginners, that's what makes it so fun, when you learn how to do things. I played a bartender one time and learnt how to make drinks on the job, without any prior knowledge. I haven't got the know-how to grief or antagonise yet, but I hope to at some point.
