Dock Station - when you accelerate a bike hard the front wheel lifts; the biker isn't doing it to be fastest or stylish. A car also lightens on its front wheels as it accelerates. Don't you know these facts?

No, you don't. This Ktm car is rubbish. If they used a "basic" Ariel Atom, It would destroy the bike. It is 300 kg lighter and it has as nearly as many horses. And don't forget that the most powerful Atom as a v8 with nearly 500 bhp and It weights 500 kgs!

Mike M Well, umm, physics love. They're smaller and weigh much less. A bike is just much less machine to push. A bike weighs hundreds of pounds, a car weighs thousands. So obvi, the initial acceleration will be faster. However, if they were going straight for long enough, the bike would max out at its top speed, which is not faster than the car, hence the car would eventually pass it, because it's more powerful. And I actually have seen some videos where bikes couldn't catch a car. Look for the one with the sport bike, against a panamera in traffic.

You’d be spending more money than most people will ever see to get a car that tops out above that, and where in the hell are you going to be able to get 200mph out of a car on a public road? It's definitely not the fastest sports bike think about the new R1, Aprilia RSV4 Factory, Kawasaki H2/H2r and ZX10r. The RC8R is just an above average sports bike although it's KTM's fastest bike they don't have very fast bikes due to them being naked and motocross bikes.
Tiff Needell has a storied race career and Vicki Butler-Henderson is no race neophyte herself. I suspect both of them would be better than either you or I in the same machinery.

The f1 comparison is silly...all these bikes are dirt cheap and you can commute on them. In the drag - Unleash a turbo hayabusa with 900bhp onto the f1 car if you want to get silly. That's more power than the F1 car!

There is a big differnece between cars and bikes. Cars have massive contact patches to the road bikes will never have. This makes them brake harder and corner harder when they are built to do this. IE sportscars or racecars. (Not your daily Hyundai commute). Bikes will always out accellerate anything bar a F1 or Drag Car out of the box. My Kawasaki ZX10R with its full Akrapovic exhaust system is good for a 10.5 sec 1/4. Thats $25k AUD. However it will never beat a race car in braking or corner speed. EVER. If the track had 2 straights on it and only 10 corners, my money is on the bike. Otherwise its on the car. The other thing to note is that when anyone does a bike to car test, they pick the most exotic fast cars that cost $1m+ and compaire them to a $22k bike. Try that against a $2m MotoGP bike.
