You know people make shit up all the time. TH-cam is a great platform but it makes it much easier to spread BS. Back then you had to the read The Inquire get this kind of story. I still like this guy’s channel though.
The mariners fans’ conspiracy is that there actually was a technical problem so Randy Johnson who was supposed to start that night started drinking thinking the game was canceled. They tried to resume but the orioles didn’t want to face buzzed Randy Johnson so they stayed canceled
Pretty sure they get new uniforms and cleats every game, waiting for them at the field. And Ripken would have beat the livin bejesus out of Costner. Cal was in way better shape that costner
The story I was told, the cops were called and Cal was dealing with the police and wouldn't be able to make the game. I had gotten my mom tickets to that game so she could see Griffey and she couldn't make the other two games. The O's paid the M's big time for that canceled game.
Imagine believing that a PROFESSIONAL baseball player forgot his cleats at home, as if he would even have them at home, or that he would be leaving his house anything later than hours before the game, or that there aren’t 30 other pairs of cleats at the stadium for him
This is an example of the prosecutors fallacy. You’re saying, given one record, what are the odds that a power outage helped it in this game, which is obviously low. However, given the total number of possible streaks, the odds that one was helped by a power outage becomes much higher. Not to mention that the only reason this is legendary is because of that. Imagine how many records could’ve happened if players didn’t get injured for example.
Lots of talk about whether or not Ripken would leave his cleats at home. I don't think do. They'd be at the stadium. Either way though, Ripken isn't going to get hurt fighting Costner. Cal would whip his ass.
This is just stupidity. Why must the internet try to ruin all good things. Oh, but wait. This is the guy who endorsed t pain cause he saw him in concert. Give me a break, sir
to think he just goes home after a game in his jersey sounds kind of ...well non professional...i mean why have lockers if you dont keep your personal equipment in it, like your cleats... that dont sound like someone who has an ironman streak would do...im just sayin
😂😂😂 do your research before you start making videos 1 Costner called into the radio station pushing the story and admittedly denied the allegations of the story saying he never even been inside of Ripken home 2 its video of Cal Ripken Jr playing catch in the field and photos of him in the dugout/Locker room of the night in question. Now if he just didn't want to play and they helped him out maybe. But it's 200% not because of Costner sleeping with his wife

@@exin4, what are you doing here? I thought you only watched Fox News and Newsmax! They’re probably saying the Yankees are first in the AL East …. and you’ll buy it too!
Never heard of this. This is a wild conspiracy. I love this stuff.

cal and Kevin deny this ever happened
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
@@matthewm9261 And?
It's a lie
The fact that Ripken did this with ONE team is crazy!
And the fact that it was his home team, his name needs to be mentioned with Jeter in terms of dedication. I wish more athletes were like that today
The mariners fans’ conspiracy is that there actually was a technical problem so Randy Johnson who was supposed to start that night started drinking thinking the game was canceled. They tried to resume but the orioles didn’t want to face buzzed Randy Johnson so they stayed canceled
The fact a major league player would go all the way home for cleats tells you this story is BS.
Bs
Pretty sure they get new uniforms and cleats every game, waiting for them at the field. And Ripken would have beat the livin bejesus out of Costner. Cal was in way better shape that costner
No they don't have brand new cleats every game, that'd be insane, also this was the 90s so I'd say it was even less likely back then
They don’t get new cleats and jerseys every game the cost of that would be wild
@@sir.muffiniii7011 I guarantee you that they get New Jerseys every game. I know that for a fact
@@chubbyforcubbies6433 maybe New Jerseys idk about that but I know for certain that they don’t get new cleats every game
I wouldn't want to wear brand new shoes to play a game, unless they are pre-broken in.

Similarly, it's been claimed the Yankees would "rain out" any games Gehrig couldn't play in.
Imagine believing that a PROFESSIONAL baseball player forgot his cleats at home, as if he would even have them at home, or that he would be leaving his house anything later than hours before the game, or that there aren’t 30 other pairs of cleats at the stadium for him
This record will NEVER be beat tbh
Calling cap on this. Why would he have his cleats at home? He playing a pick up game in his free time?
This can’t be true because major leaguers always have their cleats already at the ballpark… you’d never keep them at home and bring them on game day

I'm not hearing shit about Baltimore sports from a Steelers fan.
He looks like Ryan Gosling
To the comments that are hating on this vid, the title says it’s a conspiracy, not fact. Y’all need to chill tf out or scroll

Heard this but the record was broke in 95. This only extended the streak
People make up the dumbest 💩.

Total NONSENSE. Major Leaguers don't keep their cleats at home. Gear is handled by staff and kept in the clubhouse.
This is just stupidity. Why must the internet try to ruin all good things. Oh, but wait. This is the guy who endorsed t pain cause he saw him in concert. Give me a break, sir
He didn’t forget his cleats. He knew there was some shit going on, so he pumped faked on his wife and Costner.
Except it didn’t happen
AKOOOOON AND YOUUUNG JEEEEZZZYY
The music is so loud I can barely hear what you’re saying
Forgot his cleats at home??? How old is he... 10!?
Debunked
Holy shit Kevin Costner is sleeping with every famous celebrity wives. Sheesh
In other words, a baseless rumor not worth considering.

While Ripken was breaking Record's
Costner was breaking his wife's cervixes
How many cervixes do you think women have?

Baseballs Iron Man nonetheless
